I am learning about this myself. I started with a $25 mass-produced bow, moved up to a $200 Dorfler, and then to a $1500 August Prell bow. The better bow improved my tone, and mades it easier to play better and to properly execute all of the bowing techniques (I am still working on them). Practicing with a better bow, I can now make the lesser bows work better as well, but I still prefer the August Prell bow (and it is the best I can afford).

Pregunta: los violines del 1700 son readaptados a las cuerdas actuales?
I appreciate how you use the bow it helps me learn to use little of the hair on the higher notes as you turn the bowl in and out thank you

0:08 - just seeing where the player is placing their chin. I wonder if they usually use a central chin-rest? This video looks odd to me since they're playing on a Strad/Guarn chin rest where there's a lot of wood not being used and so the sound could be freed up by not having it exist where it currently is...

You played different songs at different times with different bows. You play great but this demonstration didn't show anything. Play a short bit with one bow and then the next and then the next - with the same bit. Then another short bit again with each. I have absolutely no idea how to compare what you've played

Oh what I'd give to have a Guarneri del Gesu. I like the tone much better than a Stradivari or an Amati. Oh to have a Guarneri.
