    Tried ordering the smoker tube through your affiliate link, but that particular seller wouldn't allow it to be shipped to PH. I kept the browser open though, and bought through another seller. Hope you got credit for it. Thanks for the video. I needed a little refresher. It's been some years now.

    The positive side to all that hot seasoning is a lot of folks will not be eating your crabs. I use crab seasoning, but the only seasoning I need to enjoy crab is salt.

  • @rkatrails

    @@JaxxDrinkwaterCurrently I use a Soto Windmaster Stove with a TOAKS 550ml pot and 100g fuel canister. The whole kit weighs 12.6 oz. I saw a KZread video about six weeks ago where they were talking about alcohol stoves and it piqued my curiosity and I've been researching to try and understand how they work and I was trying to understand the various options like alcohol, gel, tablets and the options to pair them with windscreens and pot holders. There are so many stoves it gets kind of confusing as to which is the best kind to choose. So far I kind of like the Kojin stove. I eliminated tablets like the Esbit because of the smell I keep hearing about. Anyway, it's been kind of a fun learning curve and I'd kind of like to try one for fun. I only need to boil about 8-10 ounces of water to rehydrate my meals, then after I eat I like to boil more water for coffee to savor without it getting cold while I eat. I normally hike at high altitude, around 10,000 feet and oftentimes with a fair amount of wind, so all that needs to be factored in to which alcohol stove kit would work best in those conditions.

    You need to rinse the ride to get rid of the starch and the arsenic

  • @JaxxDrinkwater
    @JaxxDrinkwater15 күн бұрын

    No, you don't actually. The starch makes no difference in a rice cooker. The rice does not stick together or get clumpy. I have tried both ways in the IP and rice cooker to see the difference and the only difference is it takes more time but other than that, the final product is the same. Cooking on the stove is somewhat different, as the rice is agitated during the cook and the starches can make the rice a bit more sticky and gummy, which is actually a good thing in say, risotto, so you should NEVER rinse that short grain sushi, paella or risotto rice. I use a minimal agitation method on the stove (when I use that method) but typically, I use a rice cooker or in this case, an Instant Pot, which is agitation free. Also, actual SCIENCE has found rinsing the rice doesn't rinse away much arsenic at all (which is actually found in higher levels in brown rice because of the bran and germ). The best method is to cook rice in water like pasta, that is a lot of water, and then drain it off. And all rice is not created equally when talking about arsenic. Some rice from some countries have more arsenic in others and some fields will have more arsenic as well. As a side fact, some rices are enriched. Rinsing the rice will wash away some of the nutrients sprayed on. You can rinse your rice if you WANT but is it a NEED? No, it is not. Cheers! And let's all give science a hug today!!!

  • @JaxxDrinkwater
    @JaxxDrinkwater19 күн бұрын

    Any ash that gets in the bottom should be insignificant .I've never had to worry about as it just burns to nothing. but if you do see any excessive amount you could just blow it out with a leaf blower or vacuum it out with a shop vac. or line the bottom with foil.

  • @sandyscott5372
    @sandyscott537219 күн бұрын

    @@JaxxDrinkwater thanks! I went through a bunch of mesquite and cherry wood... Total cook time was 9 hours bare and ten hours in foil. Not sure the reasoning on that...? My only thought is that there is a gap around the bottom of the lid where it sits on rubber feet on the body of the grill and too much heat escaped??? IDK just guessing. Anyway, happy 5th of July brisket lunch for today 🤣 good thing we had hamburgers and hot dogs on standby! And the tutorial was great by the way! Very precise explanations especially on the spritzing vs not. I'll try again in the future. I was very intimidated to try cooking brisket but I'm not easily beaten. Ready for round two! 🔔

    Well, funny my wife's cajun people make it just like this. When I say her cajun people, I don't mean people that live in New Orleans or Alexandria....I mean the people you need subtitles to understand them. I don't believe the Cajun Ninja is the only cajun on earth. But hey, you do you. I'll cheer you on every time - just don't come over here declaring what is cajun and what is not, because if you knew anything about it you would know that cajuns are very different from each other. There is not a cajun handbook that spells out what is or isn't cajun. Every household does something different with their food and the result? They're still all cajun. Cheers! Keep opening that mind up friend!

    As an avid griller who recently switched from Traeger+ to Asmoke, I've noticed a significant difference in my grilling experience. The Asmoke Essential Pellet Grill has truly enhanced the flavors of my smoked meats, thanks to the various wood pellet options it offers. The precise temperature control feature is a game-changer, making my grilling process smoother and more enjoyable. I also appreciate the convenience of the rechargeable battery, allowing me to grill anywhere without having to worry about power. It's not just a grill, it's a complete outdoor cooking solution. I'm excited to explore more recipes and share my own via the app. I'm definitely a happier griller with Asmoke. #Asmoke

    As a former Qstoves+ user, I've found that switching to Asmoke has been a game-changer for me. I love the versatility it provides and the fact that it's battery-powered makes it perfect for outings. The precise temperature control has hugely improved my grilling experience, I no longer have to worry about under or overcooking. And the different flavors of wood pellets available have truly elevated the taste of my food. I can't forget to mention the convenience of the ASMOKE app, it's made grilling so much easier. Plus, the fact that it's environmentally friendly is a big plus for me. I can confidently say that Asmoke has changed the way I grill for the better. Highly recommend for any outdoor enthusiasts out there looking for a reliable and efficient portable grill. #Asmoke

    Couple things from a native. While yes, chicken breast is the most common meat used nowadays. You can use ANY meat. Beef, pork, chicken (white or dark meat), lamb, venison, they all taste great. We usually marinate them for over a full day, sometimes 2-3. Grill em hot and fast then you serve them on a slice of good Italian bread some people put mayo or butter on it. They also make a fantastic sub sandwich or protein for salads. (The local bakery that we all used to use just closed down last year. So everyone has been scrambling to find replacements for it.) For sides, we usually went with salt potatoes and some grandma browns baked beans (they disappeared a few years back)

    Got the 4-Burner Expert Grill for $197 add tax was $212 (the price has gone up since your video) here on Father's Day 2024 and Free Same Day Delivery from Wal-Fart. Like the Part Listing, hated the Assembly Diagrams as they lacked written instructions, images alone do not justify where things go. I figured maybe 1 hour to put together but it took 3 1/2 hours. Had 2 (A) screws and 4 (B) screws left over. The Expert Grill box weighed between 60 to 70 pounds, probably 60 lbs but a very large box is hard to handle and carry but I managed, The upper grill plate was warped and the Teflon like coating as some chipped off, it does not lay flat. No weight gauge to know when your propane gas tank is close to being empty. Good idea about using aluminum foil / Reynolds wrap on the drip tray. The larger drip pan collector is nice. Had a 3-burner Expert Grill that maybe was $119 or $129 (no side burner same as the 4-burner) which lasted just over 2 years since the burner flavor covers and their supports rusted and crumpled apart. Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, and couple of other places wanted better than $300 up to $2,400 for a propane gas grill. A lot of Webers out there. I hope to get at least 4 years out of this one. Living in an apartment complex and no storage and not permitted to have a propane tank inside the building so it is chained to the metal fence all year round, covers either blow off or get stolen so I use none. The Average annual winter snowfall is about 126 inches.
