Four80East (Rob Deboer, keybordist & Tony Grace, percussionist) are from Toronto, not Kansas City...the BarBQue on my ribs tonight is, however Kansas City style. 😊 Of course, the last time I was in Kansas City I asked for a "Kansas City strip" steak and the waiter had no idea what I was talking about (bone-in)

So damn dope seeing these two together. Miles and Chaka were good friends. A couple years before this Miles appeared on a song of hers called “Sticky Wicked” which was written and produced by Prince!

say what you want 'bout Kenny, but this was funky, I can't say enough about the late great Bruce Carter there sitting on those drums.

Funny how I listen to this on the way home. Even though I'm at 80's baby, I think it was Vice City or San Andreas that played this song on the in-game radio stations. This song is timelessly bangin, with black and white collaborating. Janet and Herp gave us this tune to listen til the end of time, and to remind us we can do great things when unified <3

The best dancer ever, young people need to take good look at their work. There are several more movies that they were featured in, one take preference, no one were better than these brothers.

Funny! They said Eleanor Powell was the best. Man or woman. FredS ego couldn’t handle her being better than him. Watch them and you will see the difference he keeps looking down at the floor she rarely does only when necessary. Plus he screws up at least once in the first video and can’t match 1:her in the second. Watch her tap and you will see perfection and unbelievable skills

I think a major reason the Nicholas Brothers could do those giant leap splits is because they were very light in weight. They were only 5'4" and 5'2" tall. And you can see how lean they are. They may have only weighed around 110 pounds. I doubt a dancer weighing 160 or more pounds could get away with doing leaping splits like that.

The Nicholes brothers were still able to do that into their 80’s. Gregory Hines learned everything he knew from them and others who worked with them. This was at the Cotton Club 1935

Calloway's orchestra was called The Cotton Club Orchestra but filming for Stormy Weather was done on Stage 14, 20th Century Fox Studios, 10201 Pico Blvd., Century City, Los Angeles, California. I guess the confusion is that the story is loosely based on Bill "Bojangles" Robison beginning his career @ Cotton Club, & the Nicholas Bros. also performed there so it was recreated for the film.

That is not Seamore. Think tis came out in 1941. Bill Cosby came out in mid 1980. That guy in the orchestra look 40. Add that to 45 years to the 80's. He would be close to 85. He was only late 50s to early 60's

Funny comments about the old time recording equipment, then you proceed to kick the desk when the music plays (and not even in time!) And cause awful thumping distortion in your microphone. Didn't anyone see Cab in the Blues Brothers movie?
