I use my Curado 200ks more than anything in Massachusetts. I can throw 3+ ounce Swimbaits no problem. I love your pimped out Daiwas though!! You have an amazing collection bud! I prefer the Sierra 682C for jerkbaits. I just do not like moderate action rods for jerkbaits, you just have to work the rod way to much to impart the action you want on the bait and it wears you out. I prefer a fast rod with a nice supple action and plenty of backbone about a third down the blank. Kaden blanks are stiffer than the Sierra blacks as well. No thank you. The Sierra 682C is the way I prefer to go for jerkbaits with a Dobyns rod

    Quick google shows it to be a Gilson tackle box, probably made by Charles L Smith as indicated by the tag on the inside of the box lid. Very cool piece of history there. Retro Bassin has done some videos with some of the people at the Florida antique fishing shows that would probably know all about the lures, and for sure that tackle box. Worth taking a look. I had my trumpet ready to play taps! 😁 I don't know if you have any experience with the 19 Steez CT SV TW, but I was hoping you could answer a question. I have the chance to buy one at a really good price. Pretty much the same price as an SS Air TW. Do you think the 19 Steez is still a decent reel in 2024, or would you just get the SS Air and throw some bearings in it to make it a 12+1?

  • @skeeterboy77
    @skeeterboy77Ай бұрын

    Steez Ct is an awesome reel.. just depends what you are wanting to use either for..

  • @danspanos
    @danspanosАй бұрын

    @@skeeterboy77 I already have quite a few lighter BFS reels, so I would use the Steez CT for a little heavier baits for bass fishing. I know they have similar body shapes, but the spool is larger and heavier in the Steez so I would think it would be better suited to throwing baits that the smaller spools of the typical BFS reels couldn't handle. I'm just curious if the 2019 version is still relevant in 2024. It's a brand new reel, and it's half the price of a 2024 model if that makes a difference.

    Its almost double the price you can get it for in japan. Its all markup. My buddies wife is japanese and he lives over there now. Its ridiculous the markup on these reels and baits. This reel-You can get it for about $300 (i paid $280 for one) if you know how to read japanese, have a friend in japan, or buy from a japanese site. All the rest is markup and it only costs about $20 to ship it here and go through customs per reel. Its insane.

  • @skeeterboy77
    @skeeterboy77Ай бұрын

    all reels sold in the US have a warranty so thats where a lot of the markup comes from as well.. Also pricing can vary with the exchange rate.. I own over 60+ "JDM" reels as Ive been buying from japan for 25 years.. I dont know when is the last time I bought a reel domestically as you can just get them cheaper over seas.
