  You should back up from the tracks a lil bit, you can’t see the locomotives that good cause your so up close

  Sorry, my shorts camera is limited where I can put it and still manage all my other cameras and not get any of the other equipment in the shots and there is a bunch of posts directly behind. If you want to see the locomotives better, my long video of the train comes out usually within a week or two of the short video. This train had 819 303 807 412 425 and 804 on it, which is a bit more than I was expecting. Usually with 2 locomotives it isn't a problem. Thanks.

  Yes, I have a shorts camera (my cell phone) and usually 3 or 4 regular cameras for the long video. I guess most people either just watch my shorts or my long videos. The shorts come out the same day I film them. Usually immediately after I finish filming them since I can upload them from my phone on the road.

  I am guessing the P42s number 33 and 38 were on loan from Amtrak as the F59PH engines may be in need of maintenance or repair. They were also around when the Open Express was being run so there wouldn't be an equipment shortage with the added daily train leaving Raleigh.

  It was a special train they ran from Raleigh to Pinehurst NC. For 4 days when they were hosting the US Open Golf tournament last month.

  @FlipperGames505, you win. Florida had a sea breeze to keep us slightly cooler than that. Plus I only went out early in the morning on Saturday to catch the Auto Train. The FEC is primarily a Monday-Friday operation. It kind of goes dormant on the weekends. Heading further south today to catch some Brightlines.

  On the weekends, the railfans can be found in the "fire department" parking lot across Academy St. from the Cary Train Station. Particularly when the morning Silver Star and Carolinian are due. Have fun.

  I used to go there on some weekends. The police set up a camera in the fire department parking lot awhile ago so stopped going there regularly. Not sure what they are trying to monitor for.

  I don't know exatly. YV01 had an early morning call to assemble their train and leave Rural Hall when they were finished. I was just lucky enough to arrive as they were preparing to leave. I think they are a weekday-only railroad so they may be on holiday on July 4.

  I have not watched many trains in Charlotte. I happened to be on the north side of town so the Harris Depot Park was a reasonable place to watch. This time of year, having shade is a good thing.

  I've been smothered by the dust of this train several times this year as they seem to be moving more limestone. Very messy. One time a CSX crew was asking on the radio if the train was smoking and on fire as it passed by.
