  Real patriotism is always a good thing for the country, and people living in it. Racisms or xenophobia has nothing to do with patriotism. Patriotism is simply the deep attachment to a certain geographical area or areas. It has nothing to do with race, ethnicity, bloodline, etc. Norway's National Day is the best resemblance of this. You can see people from all difference races carrying Norwegian flags while wearing traditional clothing.

  I did this trip last month. Just a heads up no fixer needed you paid 300-500bht per visa too much. Normally you never buy sim cards,exchange money at border in my experience.(to many commission upcharges. I assume you found the same beer at 60cents in SR? Happy Hour at the roof top on pub street great.

  I know I paid extra, but since it was my first time there the fixer (Tanya) was very helpful....250 baht for the simcard. And all the beers later (many!) was 0.75 usd....
