    Please do not try this at home! Nick Donini is a professional athlete. He lands on an air cushion that is floating on water. The landing raft is basically designed to ‘crash’ on it, if needed. Happy landings!

    This test is bull. He gets out of the speedbar during, and even before the collapse. You can see it 100% in slomotion. How can NOVA support such a crappy show?

  • @NOVAPerformanceParagliders
    @NOVAPerformanceParagliders2 ай бұрын

    Taking your feet of the speed bar should be everyone’s first reaction to a symmetrical or asymmetrical collapse during accelerated flight. Test pilots are not supposed to stay in the accelerator when they induce a collapse. His timing seems a little off on one manoeuvre but he repeats the collapse with better timing straight away. It is not easy to perform everything 100% accurately while talking to the camera so we think Theo is doing a pretty good job. We hope that Theo keeps supporting us in future and we will always support him as good as we can.

  • @johanneshavlicek8688
    @johanneshavlicek86882 ай бұрын

    this test makes the wing look safer, than it is. Every pilot, that joined a siv knows, that you need to pull the wing down and then get out of the speedbar, for a real collapse. This test is a marketing gag, that can cost lifes by underestimating the wing.

  • @johanneshavlicek8688

    and no, the timing did not get better.

  • @NOVAPerformanceParagliders

    There seems to be a misunderstanding here. This is not an SIV. Theo’s idea was to replicate the certification process. He mentioned it at the start of the video.

    Does PRION 6 have BTI (Brake Travel Indicator)? or only PRION 5 has this functionality?

  • @NOVAPerformanceParagliders
    @NOVAPerformanceParagliders3 ай бұрын

    There is no BTI on the PRION 6 but the 20 mm wide risers of the PRION 6 feature many useful markings. Right and left are colour-coded (green = right; red = left). The same colour-coding can also be found on our harnesses, which prevents the harness from being connected the wrong way. In addition, the corresponding risers for Big Ears and the B-Line Stall are indicated below the maillon. The colours of the three line areas (A, B, C) stand out clearly from each other, as do the corresponding risers. The clear riser design helps you to keep your head clear for flying.

    Agree - Mentor 7 Light is a pretty safe wing for an High-EN-B glider. On the other hand this Wing loves rolling when accelerated so much that i am thinking about selling it again. Anyone with similar experience?

  • @robertzeeland
    @robertzeeland6 ай бұрын

    One hour of ground handling is worth as much as 10 hours of flying. Never pass on an opportunity to ground handle a glider that someone can borrow you, is what I say!

    You said that mentor 7 has a lower trim speed than other B gliders, so i undestood that it is with hands up, or the real thing is that it has a lower minimum speed and a higher trim speed ? Which number do you think i have to put on my XCTrack app to calculate a better wind speed ? I fly with 78 kg on de XS size, and I know that all of this is very, very inacurrated, but i have to put a number. Tkanks a lot !
