    Thanks for the video! I noticed that the probe has very small diameter, I wonder what's the model of the probe?

    Hi, thanks for this very helpful video. Quick question, do we need to tick the tilt correction during imaging a cross-section? Thanks!

  • @allenhunter1188
    @allenhunter11882 жыл бұрын

    I usually don't but it would not hurt to turn it on. I think having dynamic focus turned on is more critical. Tilt correction stretches the image which looks weird sometimes.

    Excellent series of videos, very useful. If you were to coat a sample with gold, how can you eliminate the gold data from your EDX results?

  • @michigancenterformaterials5020
    @michigancenterformaterials50203 жыл бұрын

    Hi Zella, there are software tools available such as DTSA-II to remove the gold peaks if you have gold coated your sample, but we find it best to leave the peaks in the spectrum and simply label them. Gold coating is an accepted part of electron microscopy and if any sort of x-ray quantification is done absorption by the Au will need to be accounted for.

    can any body tell me what is view field?

  • @michigancenterformaterials5020
    @michigancenterformaterials50203 жыл бұрын

    View field is the portion of your sample that is imaged on the computer screen, with a unit that conveys dimension, i.e. micron or millimeters. View field is inversely proportional to magnification, so as your mag goes up your view field decreases. You might see view field also referred to as "horizontal field width" or "field of view"

    Correction: The standard camera length is 12 cm for HAADF. JEOL has given us wrong data regarding the collection angles, which I noticed recently and got them corrected. Thanks!
