Since I can't watch, Sigrid is watching for me. I hope you don't mind that. Sigrid said she quite enjoys lockpicking too...especially when she's raiding bandit camps and hideouts like Faldar's Tooth.
Myself and Luna always appreciate seeing Sigrid, Layla, Laylana and Nora around :) Luna loves using her natural stealthy skills even more than her magic - That's her parents' teachings shining through...
I feel like the other two really got cold feet when it comes to fighting darkspawn. I've never been much of an item user outside of healing. I don't think I ever used traps or bombs in this game-- so it was really neat to see how a bomb could turn the tide of battle!
I think Daveth was up for it but Ser Jory from memory definitely wasn't cut out for fighting Darkspawn. I don't use that many items really - Just bombs and healing, if I have a poison that I haven't sold I'll use it but it's mainly just bombs and healing. It's all about picking the right moment and combining the effect of the bomb if your rogue talents - For example: Bomb + dual weapon sweep = MASSIVE DAMAGE XD
Yessss, Wynne. I love her so much. And Alistair~ I've always loved his sass. I don't think there's a character I don't like in this game. It's been so long since I've played; seeing them again is making me love 'em all over again. I always felt so bad for the tranquil.
The cast is really good in this game - Alistair has to be one of my favourite characters and I can't think of any characters that I dislike (for the wrong reasons) either. I felt more for the tranquil in DA2 when their lore was expanded on becoming puppets of the Kirkwall Templars...
Since I'm waiting for a new video to render, I suddenly have some time to kill. I've legit had this vid on standby for two days. I'm excited for this DLC because you've been talking a lot about it. Sanctuary Garden, in the tradition of Dark Souls games, will probably not be much of a sanctuary or a garden. You're always so informed about this game. I'd likely not be so knowledgeable and have to learn the hard way. 7:03 Now you're prepped and ready to go...well almost. 8:18 Wow, a demon/lion/scorpion/griffon 😮 8:42 This has been a good first boss so far. 10:18 That's a TON of electric bolts. 11:03 Deth no.2, but you did take down a good chunk of its' health. 12:12 Took you out like a heavyweight boxer there 💪 😵 13:18 No shade, as I'd be dying here a lot too. 14:39 Not giving you much of a chance to get a hit in, huh? 15:57 That was terrible timing 🎮😒 16:40 I'm sensing this might be a situation where you need to give it a go in another episode and think over your strats. 17:29 🤕 18:43 I did not know what "Sif Fight" meant until now. Is that a Souls-like term? I'm 100% sure you'll beat this boss next episode 😁
Well, there's not much of a garden but there is a sanctuary (as you'll see in the next episode)! Yeah, before I even knew that I was gonna play Souls games I read up on a lot of lore so I know a bit about certain parts of the game but it doesn't spoil my enjoyment :) It's actually a manticore (similar to a griffin but with a scorpion's tail), it would be cool to have some lore to go with this boss other than "there's a sanctuary and it's guarding it" but it is an intro boss so you can't have everything I suppose... The lightning is by far the most annoying thing in this fight, not really sure if the boss needed it tbh since it has plenty of physical attacks. It's all about learning with souls bosses - You die, die and die again and as long as you learn from each death the challenge can be overcome! More me not taking my chances honestly, my passive playstyle coming back to haunt me! XD I know right!? The batteries weren't even flat as they worked fine in my 360 controller, my XBOX one just said "nope, not today!" Learning kinda went out the window for the rest of the episode... I cut A LOT out of this session... Nah, not a Souls term - It's a Wayfairing Pilgrim term! XD Sif is a boss you face in the early-mid game (episodes 30 and 31 of my Souls playthrough if you're interested) where you have to get under her to punish and heal. This guardian will die - I actually get my act together in the next episode! :D Always love having you around Pink and reading your comments! :) 💜
@@WayfairingPilgrim No wonder you know so much before going in. I typically do zero research and go in completely blind to a game/DLC. It's awesome you have personal terms too. I have some of my own, like "chesty chest 🧰" and "ka-bluey 💥". You always do manage to get it together after rough episodes.
Have fun with the DLC. I have personally never played any dark souls game but I assume that it will be fun

5:22 going to be honest his sense of parties wouldn't fit me o_O Sitting there eating fishy crap with a corrupt politician and some prostitutes sounds awkward as hell. I like how talking to Sten is often gloomier and more blunt than talking to Shale, who could literally pass as a wall. Dogs make their own joy, as long as you're happy they normally are :) They're great like that! Investing in various whirlwind's today aye.
The Antivans have some very... Interesting tastes and if that's what Zevran's into I'm not gonna judge... XD Sten, being a Qunari General was always gonna be a no-nonsense soldier type and it's good that Bioware didn't fall into the trap of him being boring (unlike Aveline from DA2), I find Shale to be quite animated despite being made of stone and is one of my favourite characters in the whole series. Dog companions are great in games (I'm not really a dog person irl) so I will of course give him a fuss whenever I'm back at camp :) Whirlwind is a good move (if you can use it correctly) and will be helpful in the later parts of Orzammar especially! :D
@@WayfairingPilgrim aye fella's got his coping mechanisms. Aye he's a bit Warf-y hah. Shale is fun yeah, from memory one of the one that changes most as friendship rises too. It's good for when you get jumped by a mass of them isn;t it? Orzammar has a fair bit of that hah.

I always loved Ostagar and how chilling it feels. I feel like they nailed the 'calm before the storm' vibe. I don't think I've ever seen that convo with Loghain. Guess I never made anyone coercive enough 🤣
Yeah, the game gets a lot right! Atmosphere, story, levelling system, party cast etc I always boost my coercion to level 3 before anything else as it makes the early game sooo much easier with the high persuasion checks in Lothering and Redcliffe.
Sigrid too will be visiting Falder's Tooth. That's in a future episode though. The current one is a new house tour. Anyway, Sigrid will be watching how Luna gets on with the place while I do other stuff.
Faldar's tooth is a tough bandit camp (especially for a squishy spellsword like Luna) but can be overcome if you approach it correctly - Sigrid won't have a problem as she cuts though bandits like butter! You'll find that what goes on in that camp is quite grim... Luna was disgusted by what was going on and what the bandits were doing so I can only imagine how Sigrid will feel... I saw the house tour and left the video a like - Sorry I didn't leave a comment :L
@@WayfairingPilgrim You'll see what she thinks of Faldlar's Tooth when that vid comes out. But it probably won't be surprising. About the house, Sigrid still does need to officially move the family to Solitude, which you'll also be able to see.
I've been focused on recording music, but I'm taking a break for this. I think it's too big for too little content because of hardware limitations back then. Think of the original release of GTA 5 for example. There were significant limits to how much activity can happen in the massive open world. I'm sure GTA 6 and obviously future AAA Souls-likes will have drastically fuller worlds. 1:52 Good warning there. One's instinct might very well be to attack anything that looks like a boss. By crystal lizards, you mean those little things that are hard to hit before they scurry? 6:48 I would not want to run into leaches that big IRL. 7:38 I can see why this is your favourite place in the entire game. 9:26 Fortunately, you didn't lose your opportunity to get that lizard. 12:39 That enemy was definitely making fun of you for not having wings to fly from branch to branch. So you couldn't easily diie when you wanted to, but easily diied when you didn't want to 🤣 The Dragon Greatsword for sure has a 2000s MMORPG rare boss drop appearance. And if it's fully upgraded, you are talking nearly 600 damage 😮 For this playthrough though, the Gravelord Sword is iconic for your character. It was fun watching you do Dark Souls again 🙌
I'm glad that I am providing some entertainment while you're taking a break from music/content creation :) You say it's down to hardware limitations but many other places in the game are much more populated with stuff and this area could have easily been half the size. Yep, not everything in Souls is evil (contrary to popular belief), the dragon might look all scary but instead of trying to kill you he gives you an awesome weapon! :D Yep, that's them - Those pesky little critters that drop that sweet twinkling titanite! Oversized leaches, oversized mosquitos, oversized spiders... Welcome to Biighttown! Best area in the gaaaame! XD That lizard needed to go, I missed out on that opportunity far too many times, I needed to rectify that and redeem myself :p I swear that these basilisks have it in for me... Following me around and getting the jump on me at every opportunity... You'd think the one thing that is easy to do in this game is die... Actually you only easily die when you don't want to die! Crazy stats on that sword... But I need absurd levels of strength to use it - The Gravelord Sword is a good weapon but maybe it's time to break out the Black Knight Sword again as it improves more with my character's stats... Firstly, I thought I'd let Luna know that I mentioned her in my Balder's Gate 3 vid that came out today. I think she'd enjoy watching it even though it's not Skyrim. I won't spoil why. Anyway, Sigrid will be watching this while I personally avoid spoilers.
Balder's Gate is a game I'm considering picking up but I'm looking for a good playthrough of it to see if if would be my type of RPG so I (and Luna) may give i a watch when I have time :)

I don't know about that - I think the area's pretty cool once you've dealt with the Hydra and it much better than the area that precedes it! XD

Dark Souls is back!! First time playing before I realised the Hydra stopped shooting at you once you got close that was a game-changer. I didn't even attempt to fight him at first, just appeared too much at first glance haha :D Oh how wrong I was xD! Would love to give this game another replay for sure and looking forward to your thoughts on the DLC as you know :) And yea you have to be a bit further away on the first one too, otherwise you'll just fall into the deep water xD! Great work though!! As Pinkwave says, BEACH TRIP RUINED! XD!
It is! Yeah this hydra is handled pretty much the same way as the one in Darkroot Garden apart from you can hang back further - It would be a problem at low levels maybe but not to a level 90 character :) The game definitely has a lot of replay potential and I have recorded my first session of the DLC, just one more episode in Ash Lake and it will be time! Beach trip definitely ruined! Will be getting a poor review on Trip Advisor! XD

love how much trouble there is to find based on the routes you use, it's a sort of "collect em all!" situation for mortal danger hah.
I think whichever routes you take you'll end up getting all the encounters eventually - They'll be a point where you just don't get ambushed anymore because there's only so many that are programmed into the game :)

About this boss, I have a dad joke for you. What brand of Estus Flasks do Hydras use? Obviously, the answer is Hydraflask. And after you thought you killed the hydra, it sprouts fourteen more heads in a second phase. Good thing that didn't happen. The five additional dragon scales you were talking about must be part of the DLC. 11:55 So you're enjoying a nice day on the beach and one of these clammy boys comes out of the water 🏖😨 14:10 There is a point in some beaches where the sandy beach steeply drops waaaay down. 16:13 Those huge mushroom people honestly do look pretty freaky. For me at least, it was a totally worthwhile episode 😊
*Groans loudly at the dad joke* :p It wouldn't surprise me at all if the hydra sprouted more heads if I left it long enough - It would have been the most Dark Souls thing ever, having said that, it's Dark Souls 3 that is the master of the multi-phase stuff! Honestly, I'm not sure where I got 10 from - I haven't seen any of the DLC stuff yet... It seems that even things that are harmless IRL can kill you in the world of Dark Souls XD - The clammy boys aren't so bad if you fight them one-on-one. ...And when a Dark Souls beach drops down it's a one way ticket to the abyss! XD The mushroom parents (yes, that is the official name) are pretty creepy but the I think the mushroom children (again, that is the official name) look quite cute... Until the headbutt you... I don't know what you mean - The Great Hollow is a lovely place! XD The first part of the Hollow and I don't get along but once you get through all the platforming the second part isn't that bad as long as you have the resistances (curse resist and damage reduction)

It is for areas like The Great Hollow and Lost Izalith! XD Real talk though - I wouldn't say that there were any areas that I actually despised, most areas were really good and the only wholly bad area IMO was Demon Ruins that felt underdeveloped...

I was so worried about you going through this area! Lol! Some of those drops & paths are so treacherous at points, coupled with the Basiliks had me fearing youd be stuck here for a while. But you weren't so good going Dude. I always feel a little bad killing the Fungi Friends. Especially given their names are Mushroom Parent & Child 😮 Yay! Glad you got the bonfire before saying Hi to the Hydra! Love this area.
I'm quite proud of the progress I made in this one especially after the last two episodes - I made it though! That's high praise indeed some from the souls veteran! :) Well the Mushroom People shouldn't be trying to punch me then - If they weren't trying to punch me I wouldn't need to defend myself :p Yeah, glad there was a bonfire especially when I introduced myself the the pit of death my going too far into the water taking on the Hydra...XD Ash Lake is pretty cool - Two episodes in this place then it's DLC time!
Dark Souls HYPE! Yes, all progress is great, you've still got plenty done this area is tough!! I think I used Quelaag's fire sword through here the first time xD! My main weapon was just a simple falchion or something to start with but eventually I upgraded to the Great Scythe (and Lifehunt) on the DEX Pyromancer build :) An unlucky fall death in the middle there, always the most painful part XD! ASH LAKE YES!!!!! WE HAVE MADE IT!!! I do also LOVE Ash Lake!! Say hello to the Knight of Catarina for me haha! Nooooooo he's not here! XD You can still go back and progress it :D But yes I hyped for what you make of the DLC now :D
Yes, as promised! It's all progress at the end of the day and there wasn't too much death! :D Yeah, falling off that branch second time around wasn't my finest moment... Third time was the charm I suppose! XD Ash Lake - Our final area before tackling the DLC and it does look beautiful... Sorry for no Onion Bro - I messed up his side quest by overachieving in Lost Izalith... Two more episodes to go before DLC time - Can't wait! :D
If you had known this particular party would feature eye monsters, mushroom people and a dance floor full of deadly pitfalls, would you have gone in the first place? Myself, I would have opted to stay home. You did get a few nice things and make a bit of progress though. I'm hoping for a pleasant day at the beach next episode.
I don't think the basilisks and mushroom people were even invited to the party - Pretty sure it was supposed to be a private party with me and Souls platforming and they just invited themselves over! XD I got all the loot that I needed from the tree (save a couple of crystal lizards which I gave up on) and now there's just one final area (and 2 episodes) of the main game before the DLC (and Gwyn)... Good 'ole Ash Lake!

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to your stuff. Life has been quite busy for me lately. Anyway, this area is kind of a labyrinth, because you know, a maze + a lot of death. I imagine it would be hard to find all the secrets and special loot hidden in the area if you didn't already know. And why am I not surprised Dark Souls would curse you? 😶 Hopefully it doesn't take so long for me to get to future vids of yours. Also, there is a new Skyrim video in the batch I'm currently uploading. I haven't forgotten about the series or anything.
No need to apologize Pink, you are a human being who has a life first and a content creator second :) The Great Hollow is crazy - A lot of drops and paths that go nowhere but if you want all the loot you have to navigate it, at least there is a quick way down for when you've gathered all the loot. Those basilisks are incredibly dangerous if you have low curse resist - That curse bar is tiny and fills up so quickly! Fortunately, I had a purging stone 'cos this game is hard enough with full health, never mind half health! :L The videos don't go anywhere so don't feel that you have to watch them immediately as soon as they are uploaded, there are things that are more important than my content :) Luna was asking about when your next Skyrim was coming out as we haven't seen one for a while, she'll be happy to know that one will be coming soon :D

No Dark Souls, so dropping support on this game too. another fantastic game of course. I got the platinum way back on PS3, love it! Are you playing on the hardest difficulty? It really seems a lot tougher here, love that too. Sorry if I already asked, it's been a few weeks since I popped in for Skyrim as I've been watching your Dark Souls :D You're doing a really great job and making me want to play a harder difficulty run again at some point! <3 <3 <3 Also just thinking are you getting Avowed??
Yeah, Dark Souls will be up this Sunday mate don't you worry! Skyrim is a game I always come back too, 13 years old and I still love playing. Playing on Master (Legendary would be a nightmare with my squishy spellsword!) but Treva's watch is also a horrible area from past experience and I probably make the game look harder than it actually is! XD Thanks man, I'm glad that you enjoy my videos - I try my best to make them worth watching and you should totally go for a max difficulty run! *checks google* I never even heard of this game - I won't be getting it as it's an XBOX exclusive and I went with PS5, is it a possible series on your channel? :p

Actually haven't made any definite plans for Avowed to be on the channel, just gave me extreme Skyrim vibes but a true next gen experience at the same time. My channel will be sticking with Lies of P and starting Baldur's Gate 3 soon (I also want to do AC Valhalla on the hardest difficulty and Lords of the Fallen - after Lies) :D
Ahhh so amped~! Things are getting rolling~ I've always been a fan of Duncan. Makes me happy to see him again. A little bittersweet to see the darkspawn again too.
Duncan is a cool character - It's a shame that we don't really see much of him... Yeah, the Darkspawn wanted some early screentime! The Dalish origin just seems to set up the rest of the story so well in comparison to the other ones.
That froggy thing is a amazing, the eyes on it! Probably saw its death coming a week ago. Can't jump off cliffs blindly then be angry at the game that you died hah. Froggy kingdom will never recover :'(
Those Basilisks man... Horrible little things, especially when you don't have the curse resistance. Maybe, but I can criticize the broken Souls platforming and an area which focuses on platforming in a game that should be focused on face-to-face combat. All the froggies must die - No one should have deal with being cursed after coming into contact with those things! XD
still in the damned tree! XD I do love this hellhole though and by that I mean the entire game. Haven't felt such adventure in games as I did with this one, very often! Very much still looking forward to seeing what you make of the DLC! Great video as always man! <3
Yeah, still slowly and methodically making my way down this damn tree - I need me all that titanite! XD It's amazing how much good lore is in this game too and that it's so easy to miss a side quest if you're not paying attention - I love games like this! There's 3 more episodes before the DLC - 1 more in the damn tree and 2 to experience Ash Lake, then it will be time... Glad you enjoyed! :)
I'm amazed by how much of this game I've forgotten with how many hours I've put in. I'm remembering Merrill from DA2, totally escaped my mind that she had a role in this game too!
Merrill only has role if you do the Dalish Origin though since it's a different tribe you recruit later - DA2 had a few problems but it's neat that the Dalish you meet in that game are the ones where the warden (potentially) came from. Glad to see you're enjoying the series dude! :D
man I remember some of those puzzles taking me HOURS the first time I did this, I'd struck that from my memory! X_X
I'm almost certain that there is a way of solving that puzzle but I can not remember for the life of me how you actually get to the solution - The Gauntlet is a fun area though and I got there in the end! :)

I remember playing the heck out of this game and it's been so loooong. Brings back good memories~ I know I didn't play much as an elf, so it's neat to see that origin again~
I would say that is time well spent! :D Still one of my favourite games of all time! I went with Dalish Elf as it puts you in the action almost immediately which is good for the purpose of a YT series. Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the channel! Took me ages to find this guy, not even sure I found him in my first playthrough xD! Also you and everyone else have already explained everything about the bed of chaos, like you say one of the most important characters lore-wise so it's mad why they did what they did to the boss. There was so much more planned, but yeah. At least in NG+ you can just run it in a minute xD! idk whether or not to tell you, but there's platforming in the rest of them too, even Elden Ring still has it in a few places XD! I feel like Death Blight is coming ! XD Ahhh the good old crystal lizards! :D At least in the new games they make the disappear time reset when you hit them haha and if they fall off something you still get the reward :D
I think I found Vamos by accident on a pre-KZread playthrough (where I only played up to Blighttown and did the catacombs), he's pretty easy to get to once you know where he is though :) I know right? It's such a shame because the Witch of Izalith's story is top notch but due to publisher pressure the fight that was originally planned was scrapped and they just cobbled together what we got because a big portion of the game wouldn't make sense without it :( Yeah, I'm expecting platforming in the other games too but hey, at least Demon Souls has a jump button! XD Dark Souls 3 however... Really stupid button mapping :L Yeah, those crystal lizards are tricky little things - I do get a couple but wasn't able to get all of them...

Luna is basically using Lydia as a meat shield while she deals damage with her bow and running away leaving Lydia to fend for herself when things get a bit spicy (which she does feel a little guilty about but that's what a housecarl is for right?) Hopefully Layla learns some bow skills from watching :)
Here's your Resident FromSoft Obsessive to give you some info Dude! 😂 So 1st The BoC is probably the most universally disliked Boss in all of these games. 2nd Miyazaki knows this & in any interview he's done where it's come up he has always been very embarrassed & profusely sorry about it. He's gone on record as saying that boss (& area) are 1 of his biggest regrets. Originally there was to be a King of Izalith who you'd face with the Witch transformed into a bug as a result of the Chaos Flame (which is still the case) & she would do things to the level in the fight. This was scrapped due to time constraints & a Junior came up with the boss in it's place. Despite being unhappy with it they had a schedule & had to put the game out with that. And I had to laugh so much about you talking about platforming in Souls & then next area, The Great Hollow 😂😂 This place though is such a pain & you'll likely accumulate a good few more deaths before you reach the bottom. We've all been through it.

Yeah, Dark Souls (1), while a legendary game, certainly isn't without its flaws. They probably wanted Bed of Chaos to because bit of variety, which it was. Like you said though, the game would be better off with another boss in the normal Dark Souls boss style. Getting to that bug and striking it seems quite difficult, You wouldn't know those bugs were important unless you did know already. I'm really looking forward to you doing the DLC.
Dark Souls is a great game and I've had a lot of fun playing it - It's just a shame that the Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith area wasn't what it should have been, seems like a classic case of publisher pressure to meet a release date (Thanks Bandai Namco...). A large part of the game actually doesn't make sense without the Bed of Chaos and I'm all for unique fights (Crossbreed Pricilla, Dark Sun Gwyndolin and Ornstein & Smough are great examples!) but that fight just didn't work with how the game is designed. You have to be quick with those crystal lizards/bugs and it's a pain when they get trapped in a narrow corridor - I messed up when it was out in the open but manage to get it eventually! :) I'm looking forward to it too! 4 more episodes and it will be time for the DLC! :D

Happy new year to you too man! Yeah, a pretty standard new year eve/day this year. I think it's just a matter of managing my time right (which I haven't been doing for the last two months) and should help with my consistency. Yep, starting the Dark Souls DLC soon (which I have only heard good things about) and then on to my next Soulslike and hoping to get Dragon Age: Origins done or very nearly by the end of the year! It's the pre-editing that's a nightmare for Dragon Age especially, so much to cut out before splitting into episodes... Hope you enjoy the new trailer! :D

I've heard that Artorias and Manus are very hard bosses and that Kalameet isn't easy... Having said that Souls isn't known for being an easy game! :D
Just as I promised, here I am. My 2023 was quite interesting as well. I would not want to experience it again. I've been VERY out of touch with social media (now) last year, so I hadn't even heard of Blue Sky. I'm definitely open to it though. I'm looking forward to you hopefully being able to be happier and more productive with 2024

XD Sorry to hear that your 2023 hasn't been the greatest either... :( Bluesky is basically a simpler version of Twitter created by the same guy and I'm sure polls, gifs etc will be added in time, there seems to be a lot less hate on there too so it's worth considering - I have codes if you need one :) I'm hoping 2024 is better and more productive - I try to be a very positive person but I was in a very difficult place midway through the year... Wasn't fun :L Hope you have a better 2024 too - Awesome people like you deserve happiness :)

Happy new year to you too! :) Well, the Dark Souls DLC is kinda like a new series I suppose and I'll finish it at some point this year - I'll then do a poll on Twitter for what Soulslike game I should do next! Might be able to get the main game for Dragon Age: Origins done by the end of the year too as I'm a lot closer to the end of the game than it looks and the DLC for that should be fairly short series before moving on the next game in the series. Skyrim will still be going strong - I don't talk about the lack of progress in that playthrough! XD Yeah, there's a couple of new games I like the look of that are coming out this year - Dragon's Dogma II and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on in Artorias of the Abyss & am happy to hear you've managed to get on top of your productivity a bit more. Keeping my fingers crossed that 2024 is a better year for you Man. Really excited to see how good that DLC actually is... But also quite scared - I'm gonna die and die many times I think! Still a few episodes from the last couple of areas to be uploaded first but the DLC is the next session! :) Thanks man - It's not been the easiest year for me as you know, I think I needed two weeks off work to just reset. I'm hoping to be in streams more, watching some more videos and being a little more active on social media to keep people in the loop about what goes on with me from next year:) Oh, I didn't know there was an app for Discord - Bluesky is probably still better though as it's pretty much the same as Twitter without all the crap that a certain CEO has done to actual Twitter... So the offer of a code for Bluesky still stands :p
