  Fun fact is that this video somehow got bugged out. The audio is desynced and the video stops at 46 minutes in the browser. At phone I can play the whole video but the audio is still desynced, which is weird because like a year before it played fine on phone.

  i remember getting stuck on the desert all those years back. tips and tricks magazine may 1998 had a guide on bof3 with BULLSHIT instructions on how to cross the desert. i gave up on ever finishing the game because the instructions on both the game and the magazine are LIES.

  Thank you for this! Just finished following all the directions. Need to add one tip: During the Royal Sword search, after you've walked 2 nights NE, if you have a Holy Mantle equipped, TAKE IT OFF. It screws with your random encounter. You won't run into the Royal Sword if you have the Holy Mantle equipped. After 3 attempts, I finally took off the Holy Mantle and then ran into it.

  Great races for Jimbo, PYL and Lovins. The Dan guy was kind of insufferable though and ruined the good fun mood of the finals.

  Those were some fun races. I liked the ending in Koopa Troopa Beach. There was a great comeback but unfortunately ended with some wacky RNG items.

  Is there a reason why Wonn score goes in Toad's Turnipike (Nice finish there by the way) from 1 first to 3 firsts in Frapple Snowland? Are the results sometimes incorrect?

  There's a glitch in the game where if you cross the finish line multiple times (usually done by reversing over the line), the game will award you multiple finishes. Lakitu placed him down facing backwards, so after he finishes the CPU takes over and turns around and crossed the line again which ended up in him getting credited for two 1st place finishes. In the moment, it appeared that nobody noticed, but thankfully it didn't impact the outcome of the match. The tournament ROM that we use now patches this glitch.

  It is definitely not hard (despite this part of the game being so badly designed, especially when the game itself gives you two different instructions), however, it is the most boring part of the game. 😴

  Just got the royal sword!! This walk-through is the best one I’ve seen to get these certain items by far. Though I think he would be better off going back to base camp and starting over to go to the oasis afterwards that you do not permanently decrease your health from drinking so little water on this trip.. But that’s just my opinion. But for getting the items I Highly recommend

  After all the years of owning this game which is over 15 years for me personally. I found that this was the easiest way to get the life armor. It worked exactly as described. Going to do the royals sword now and comment afterwards if it worked

  LOL someone would have to be VERY bored to bother doing this. Hourglasses are basically cheating in this game anyway. Not really any challenge going on here, more of a proof of concept than anything. Still pretty neat tho. Peco is pretty much broken in this game in the right hands. Put him under Fahl @ Level 1 for the entirety of the game and he will basically be unkillable, and will absolutely DESTROY everything with both his Breath attacks and the Charge attack. Fahl was basically tailor made for Peco and is the only Master he should ever be under. Not quite sure why you have him under Meryleep here, considering he really has no need for Agility. It's kind of a waste. Rei is really the only person that you need to train under Meryleep, to get his Agility high enough to be able to attack first in that other optional uber tough enemy fight while using the Agility formation to give everyone his speed.

  There was always a neat feeling doing the desert, watching the sky change and seeing the city in the distance. Easily on the of best rpgs. the ps1 era of RPGS was the best, hands down.

  This is one of the worst parts of the game. And what made many people to give up un the game. So that doesn't talk very well about the design of this. Still, it is true, PS1 was the best era but only for JRPGS, not for RPGs overall. There are many better games nowadays.
