Replace the gravel with sand so if he eats the sand he will be ok

We always prefer gravel its easier to clean and less maintenance. Also never had a problem with them eating it. 😊

Most definitely a raccoon. Have seen the same on my trail cams in Canada. Deer are not spooked by raccoons. Have seen them eating within feet of each other and raccoons typically wash their food before eating. Nice rack on the Buck.

No alligator snappers are the biggest freshwater in North America their are breeds of soft shell in Asia that get bigger then alligator snappers
