Bass Base

Hey! This is Dave, thanks for checking out the channel. This channel is about creating bass guitar tabs for songs that I either can't find an existing accurate tab for, or just songs that I like playing. And now - interviews with the people behind the music!

I hope that the tabs helps you and that you enjoy the interviews!

Are the songs played perfectly? Hell no! I learn them well enough to play through to demonstrate the tab, but I don't spend weeks learning each song. I spend most of the time making sure that the tabs are correct, and the play through should give you a decent guide on how to play it. I'm sure that if you're taking any of these songs to the stage, you'll practice them more than I did to record these videos, and that's the aim, to give you the ammunition to nail the songs!

All tabs available individually, or as part of a membership at www.patreon.com/BassBase

If you'd like to request a song, please head on over to Fiverr - www.fiverr.com/s/RRamLV

so far ive watched to the 1 minute mark.....(had to write...-but watching rest of it after this) OMG...that delay and tone is amazing....so much insight in the first minute!....sounds incredible, warm, and even to a degree sounds like a synth....(ok - back to the rest of the vid...) * ok so I can see how "the Edge' uses this technique that Steve adapted/evolved ...interesting.... not actually unlike a technique that Brian May (Queen) also uses when building the rhythm in various songs ie Now Im Here. ive def got to get myself a Delay pedal next..... I ONLY use BOSS Pedals ever. 3:10 "Anyone can do it" - love it!! Steve Balbi that was an incredible insight into how you structure this riff...thankyou for your time and BIG THANKS of course to you Dave for this excellent lesson with Steve. well done mate

Massive number from The Screaming Jets....Hugely popular over the PA in my High School Years at Scoresby High. One of the biggest tracks of the year - even our PE Teacher Mark Williams (ex Collingwood Captain and future Port Adelaide coach loved this!!) Man I was stunned - when I begun my apprenticeship at RMCPGA in North Melbourne our new teacher assigned to us in 2nd Year was none other than Dave Gleeson himself!!! what a fkn trip!!!......and my best mate in same class was Ross Hetherington who at the time was Drummer for The Swamp Rats and later Bodyjar.... what an awesome microcosm of talents those years were......thx Dave (im surprised even in myself I hadn't commented here but its good to be catching up....)

OH Wow!!! Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart ....totally was never thinking this would drop but im wrapt it did!!! Personally I consider Annie the female Freddie Mercury for songwriting....Dave Stewarts basslines are so indelibly the backbone drive to their sound.....She is amazing and if I had a Dinner Party Annie Lennox would be one of the 5 others id reserve a place for. Unreal Dave!! you keep surprising me and this is no exception m8.....nicely played also man.....tight...on point and full of rhythm. fan-bloody-tastic and big thx also.... (its a shame we cant 'claim' Eurythmics as Aussie too ...u know like Split Enz haha) ** all time fave of mine among their many huge songs is 'Love is a Stranger' - the lyrics are incredible AND the video was wayyyy ahead of its time with 'on the wrist technology ' that at that point wasn't even a thought bubble in Steve Jobs' mind.....

ive played this many times via elsewhere but its only THIS tabbing & notation that is 'honing & nailing' my approach on Bass in that NOW my timing (the rhythm) is much improved...THIS Tab is pulling together my 'Malcolm-Young-Bass-Brain' in terms of accentuating Bass Rhythm. cheers m8
