I worked with Mickey and yes jwhite a great man. Great work ethics and a highly skilled precision machinist, but in the break room his sense of humor shines he enjoyed taking the opposite view just for debate sake and get the other person so turned around in their own views. And for the game of basketball this man was so good with youth. Thank you Mickey for all of the years of being friends and a big I will see you in heaven. To the family my condolences and know the y'all will miss his support, knowledge, and humor.

Could this have been called for holding as well?

This is not an illegal screen. The screener does not have to face the player being screened.

I agree on both counts. He pulled himself up while the ball was bouncing around the cylinder. This wasn’t a safety issue.

What just happened? Yall had a foul (shoulda been ruled a block) on White 1, about to give the ball to blue for a spot throw-in, and the table convinced yall otherwise?

The reporting official messed up.

Yes, score the goal. Foul happened after the ball left the shooter’s hands. Wouldn’t have mattered if the foul was on black or white.

I don’t see any comments so I’ll go first. NFHS Rule 10-4 ART. 3 ... A player shall not: Grasp either basket at any time during the game except to prevent injury; dunk or stuff, or attempt to dunk or stuff a dead ball. Rule 4 ART. 4 ... The try (tap) ends when the throw is successful, when it is certain the throw is unsuccessful, when the thrown ball touches the floor or when the ball becomes dead. By rule, the dunk was complete before the swing and pull up. So, technically, yes, it was a technical foul especially in slow motion. In real time, I might not catch it and wouldn’t fault someone for missing it.
