I am a self taught DIYer. I do many crafts from sewing, quilting, soapmaking, cement crafts, woodworking, and of course scroll sawing. I wanted to help others who might be starting out in their hobbies.
This is great! I just purchased a scroll saw, for which I am planning to begin with making scroll-saw bowls & vases. Admittedly I wasn't keen on buying an inflatable sander, because right now they run $50 to $100 at least. I was so glad to find your vid! It's a wonderful idea, and I've subscribed so I can watch your other vids. Can't wait!! Thank you!

You are very good at instructional videos. You really ought to think about doing very basic training using Inkscape. I've watched a ton of them and they are are in a foreign accented tongue or way above most people's abilities to grasp the basics. And they always go way too fast moving the mouse around and clicking on the different tools while trying to explain what the tool is for and how to use it. You mentioned in the beginning of this video how you did what you did but I'm sure that many folks who are following you might like to gain a bit more knowledge on the program. I an 81 and have been trying to grasp it for about 5 years. I'm getting better at it but it's been a real fight. Please, give it some thought.

Hi Susan-What would be helpful to me and probably your audience is to mention specifics; i.e. sandpaper grits, scroll saw blade sizes, speed of scroll saw, like 1-5, slower is better unless faster is best, plus links to good double sided tape, preferred poly manufacturers, stuff like that. Also links to supplies would be helpful. Thanks.

Thanks for video. Im an accomplished woodworker and novice violinist but making tongue drums even with different hardwoods beat me about a year ago. I made 5 but could never tune them even with various apps and tuners because I could not get notes to read consistently. Currently, making CNC projects to sell for the total eclipse. However, after April 8 I will try again thanks to your video. Thanks for confidence. I will try to find the apps and the handwritten sheets you show during the video to make another attempt. If jinga hardness marches, I Want to make one using Osage Orange top if I get where I can tune it. Thanks again - KaDee

My issue was with getting the tuner to determine the frequency (note). It would show a note with a strike. Without changing anything I would Strike it again and get a totally different note. It had this inconsistency in testing regardless if which tuner or app I used. Very frustrating. I've made dozens of instruments ( hurdy gurdy, hammered dulcimer, and bowed psalteries) but the tongue drum beat me because I could not get the tuner to consistently read the note. I would guess its a harmonic issue. Perhaps the aps you suggest will work and read it better. Cant wait to try it. Thanks again for responding and for the video. KaDee KaDee's Creations
