There's something symbolic about the heroic music just stopping so abruptly when the ghost matter's shell ruptured. In the blink of an eye, all the Nomai in the system were gone.

"We do not have much connection, you and I. Still this encounter feels special. I hope you won't mind if i think of you as a friend." -Solanum Anyway, i love and hate this animation because it's too perfect to make me forget the horrible death of the NomaÏ and the loneliness of my 'friend' (yeah i assume to call her like that). Thank you really much for this amazing video

I didn't know I needed a Outer Wilds tv series with this style. Hypothesis: now I do. Suggestion: do you have any plans to continue this and make it a full scale series about all the game and DLC? I know it would be MASSIVE amount of work (to say the least), but I'm almost sure that with Kickstarter you could make it, and it would be something amazing. Only problem is, can you kickstart something you have no rights on?

My dad got me the game when he got me my Xbox one. I tried it and played it for 2 weeks but didn’t know what to do or how to do anything. I didn’t play the game for 4.5 years and I decided to try it again. I was not expecting it to be that good and I got sad when I beat it because I couldn’t play it for the first time again. When I saw there was dlc on the Xbox store I got it immediately and it was amazing

I want to thank you for trying to put words to the unspeakable. I, you, and others, have struggled to put to words the emotions you present here. Frankly the task is insurmountable, but your effort is commendable. From one traveler to another, We may not have much in common, you and I. Still, I consider you as a friend

I remember once seeing a theory that the Interloper was a weapon fired by an alien race that had become aware of the Nomai efforts to reach the eye, presumably a race in a similar position to the Owlettes and having reached the eye earlier.

Oooh this is good, really like the attention to detail here, like showing a bunch of different Nomai characters in their final position you find them in game.

Now, I'm not sure if the video implies that they died slowly, inevitably, from the Ghost Matter. But just to clear any misunderstanding, they didn't. They died instantly. The moment the comet erupted, any Nomai that was hit with it died right then and there. Which is so much sadder, cause not a single one of them got to say goodbye, or even sorry. Wonderful video, though! Truly! I always wanted to see more Outer Wilds animations! And the fact you made this, with no prior knowledge of animation, is genuinely heartwarming. What a way to get someone into animation than through such a wonderful experience of a game! I think the Nomai would be proud of you for that.

Only a handful of things in my life have made me cry. And this video.. No this piece of art was another one of those things, It made me realize all the amazing pieces and echoes this game has left behind in my mind. Still there just scrambled and confusing like the ancient ruins the Nomai left behind. I hope you realize what a talented driven artist you are and never stop creating Braai!

I still haven't been able to say goodbye, I left the dlc undone just so I could have something to look forward to but now thats "gone". I just felt like I was part of that solar system and its like I cant break free from it, its ironic, the game encourages the opposite, the beauty of the end and the beginning of the new and I love that but for some reason, I can't forget. Im still unsure if thats a good or bad thing, if my obcession to just lay down and think, if the tears that appear when I listen to the ost. I will never forget this game but I should also let it go. Im still in the reccomending phase and I would be lying if I said I dont get a bit sad when they don't have a strong reaction as I have, I wish I can someday give someone else this experience, maybe I wouldn't be so alone.

Solanum saying "the end of the universe is scary even if it won't happen in our lifetimes" but then she "survives", it does indeed happen during her lifetime. Also I've been watching VODs of someone streaming the game on Twitch and it's amazing to see all the messages written by solanum, when I played the first time I didn't pay attention to who was writing the messages, but seeing her messages she writes throughout her life really let's you learn about her.

The egg, by epic mountain form the “your journey” section is such a subtle, yet deep touch. One of many things making this video, reach my heart. God I have no idea where to even start, I’ve seen so much, played hundreds of games, and viewed thousands of videos, movies and episodes throughout my life. I thought my life changed when I played Celeste, and well it did. But, this game it’s well I’m not sure if theirs a word for it. I got an emotion that I can’t easily describe, almost like a blend of every emotion in a way, right in the center of that rainbow. I’m still young, and I haven’t experienced life very much. I’m scared of what is to come of adulthood, yet I’m optimistically curious. I know my time on Gaia is short and limited compared to it. But I feel like I have more than enough, however long that is. Sure I may feel like the prisoner, the only person in the universe, that has their way of thinking. Until he met the hatchling, until he learned he wasn’t truly alone. I’ve yet to find that person, but I know thier out there. My soul has been vindicated. And my passion resurrected. I will make art like this game. To help others like how art helped me…

Usually when I go into Outer Wilds video essays I expect to cry but dear goodness this had me bawling like a baby. Most essays focus on the feeling Outer Wilds gives us yet never really reach the breadth of sheer awe and wonder I had when playing it for the first time. With this being said, this is the best I’ve ever come across. Your words put my indescribable emotions into something tangible to help me better understand why I couldn’t let this little indie game go. Your use of crescendoing scores, overwhelming imagery, and familiar phrases really helped me to relive all the feels that come with playing, and ultimately finishing this game. Even if it was brief, thank you so much for visualizing the emotive journey of Outer Wilds for all of us fans out there.

Man.. I finished the game about 6 months ago, and not a single day goes by without me thinking about it. It changed the way I view space, it changed the way I view death, and more important; it changed ME. Your video made me smile, laugh, and cry. And I thank you for that. Outer Wilds will forever be in my mind and a part of me. To everyone reading this, i hope you’ll take the time to smell the pine trees along the way, because theses are the most important ones.

i found out about outer wilds from a school club thing during the pandemic. it was either outer wilds or undertale and i definitely made the better choice. Outer wilds carried the entire pandemic i would nonstop play the game trying to finish it and trying to build the courage up to enter dark bramble lol. I really miss playing the game and discovering the wonders it hid for me.
