    Thanks and I appreciate your ranking and list. I think we all have our favorite maps and version of TTR based on personal preference. I recently got Old West (for the 6 player count) and France expansion map. Personally, I enjoyed France side better. Overall, my favorite version so far, is Rails and Sails. Love the combination of deciding between ships and trains and the longer game play. Closer to a mid-weight game. But, I still have quite a few other maps and versions to try. Need to play Europe some more as that seems to have a good mix of mechanics. Of course, I want to try Legacy Legends of the West!

    Loved the video I just bought the UK map expansion and I am excited to play both maps NOTE: For the France map do you leave the tracks on the map after you claim a route? It sounds like that because you said the trains fall down but per the rules you are supposed to put the tracks back in the supply when claiming the route. So maybe it won’t be fiddle the next time you play 👍🏽

    My husband and I have been keeping a running score of Ticket to Ride since Covid began. Loser gets to pick which map to play the next week. I would love to get Marklin! We have USA + 1910 expansion Europe +1912 expansion, Nederlands, UK/PA, Rails and Sails, Japan/Italy. We play Nederlands the least, because of the rules for the dummy player. Europe is the next least played.

I am always curious about why different people like or love their games and I appreciate that you took the time to put this out. I look forward to seeing more of your videos with the whole family. If you are looking at thematic two players, believe it or not, is the Star Wars Deck Builder. For Co-ops, Flashpoint Fire Rescue, Star Trek Panic, and the variations on Pandemic (I love the Clone Wars). I also like Journeys in Middle Earth, if you don't mind apps. Jennie might have more options. I will check with her.

    Nice recap of a lot of games. I have ordered Creature Comforts but haven’t gotten it yet. Based on how it plays I should really like it and hope to, but I’ve heard a few reviewers now give meh reviews. I’m still hopeful. I hear it has a shorter 6 round variant in the rules and I may start with that. I enjoy Quacks at more than 2 players but prefer Cubitos at any count. I like seeing my person go around a race track more than a score track and rolling lots of dice is great fun. Definitely recommended.

    I really like Vast Mysterious Manor, but I wonder if it will ever get to the table. It competes for the same game time as Root which I like a lot more and already don't play very often. What are your gaming habits/preferences for revisiting games you like versus trying something new? To ask the question another way, did you enjoy going through the shelf of unplayed games, or would you rather have spent that time playing games you know you like? I don't remember any specific gameplay differences between 1st and 2nd editions of Atlantis Rising, but the art and components of 2nd edition are amaaaaazing. I should get that to the table again soon.

  • @weberfamily183
    @weberfamily1832 жыл бұрын

    That's a tough question. I really think we would like to start revisiting the games we love. But going through each of these (even the older ones) was a blast. I think for us, it will be more important to refine the collection and play them quickly after we get a new game so that we can keep going to the older ones. Not sure that answers your question, but it works.

    We have a few of these too. We did not care much for chronicles of crime, it just felt like a solo game. Tiny epic dungeons is a much bigger game than it looks like and it's pretty hard. I liked it overall. For a co-op puzzle style game have you tried The Initiative? We haven't gotten to try it yet, but it looks fun. Also, Creature comforts is awesome. We actually went and bought a game at Target yesterday. We were going to this dinner party and they asked us to bring a game. We got Codenames since that can be played with a lot of people - and it's very non-gamer friendly. They also had Azul, and I was surprised to see that they had Mysterium as well...

    They have a surprisingly deep selection! It just changes a lot more than a regular game store. Just because a game was sitting there this week doesn't mean it will be there next. We haven't tried Mars AE yet - Ray wants to get it played ASAP. He is super excited about it. We have played both Trails and Summer Camp now. Both were really good. Summer Camp really surprised us on how good it worked. He is a deck builder and a race game. But if you have to be careful - if you "race" too fast down one path, then some cards are less useful than others but they ALWAYS have one buy power if you don't use the power, so that's good. And it is cute. Trails was good as well. Ray is happier with Trails than Parks. We'll see how they compare as time goes on. I like that there is no two player deletions to the "trail" and Ray likes that you go back and forth so you aren't "stuck" and waiting at the end. -Jennie

    @@weberfamily183 nice! I’m a big fan of T Mars, but the recent version gave me the same feels, but in a more condensed version. Sometimes you wanna play a game with juicy decisions, but don’t want the bookkeeping that comes with it.

  • @professorweber
    @professorweber3 жыл бұрын

    @@fredcabr We got Mars played last weekend. Ray was very happy with it. It felt like too much bookkeeping at the end for me - the tableau was hard to keep track of, but I think that will get better with a few more plays. But Ray is happy! We have the KS edition and I love the production boards, just wish the other phases had something similar. So like you could easily see how much that one card will be rather than reading through all your options....but maybe that's just me!

    Thanks for the video! I'm a bit of a newbie to board games and trying to choose a few to start up a collection. 🙂🎲♟️ I thought ticket to ride might have a good place since it's so popular. 🙎🏻‍♂️🏆 My first thought was one of the smaller boxes? 3 of my games are kind of long and involved so I liked the idea that these were shorter and could work as filler games while still having some strategy. 💁🏻‍♂️⏰🏆 I thought I might also get one of the bigger boxes for when we have time for something more involved. Based on you and some other reviews I was maybe thinking Europe or UK? 🚞💂 I understand Europe is "friendlier" in that there may be less blocking? But the technology thing in UK sounds fun? Any thoughts? 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I think the smaller box (London) is a great choice as you figured out. It is a great filler and we often travel with that or NY. Europe is definitely easier, to start, and the stations make it less like you will get completely blocked. The technology is in UK is a lot of fun, though, and isn't that much of a learning curve. The issue will be the pieces. You do have to own either US or Europe. The two "bases" are Europe and the US and need those pieces for UK, so starting off with one of those is smart just because otherwise you can't play the expansion maps (like UK). So you almost have to buy Europe first. -Jennie
