For birdwatchers and people who enjoy seeing wild birds live well. There are videos that will help you identify different bird species that live and migrate through the Eastern United States. There are also videos of birdhouse building and design considerations. I'll also have tips and suggestions how to capture video and photos of wild birds.
A couple years ago I wanted to get back into woodworking, and thought I'd try to build a birdhouse, which I did. I put it on my bookshelf not really thinking past building it. ;). But after a few months it finally made it outside. And since I also like photography, I put a wireless camera inside the birdhouse. To my surprise birds were checking out the house immediately. And seeing the videos from inside the house was exciting. Now I know those birds were Carolina Chickadees and Eastern Bluebirds. Since then I've been customizing my birdhouses with 3D printed camera shelfs ;)

Must be ;)
One of the best videos I've seen. I have a nest box with a Blink camera and the clarity is not near as good. The only available light is through the entrance hole. I suspect that is why the video is not sharp. The light in this video stays very consistent. Is there an additional light source other than the hole?
Yes I have 2 doors, the smaller top door is 3D printer with transparent PETG which lets light in without being clear. And gives access to the camera batteries. You can see details here birdhouse.walkingdown.com
@@BirdsWalkingDown Thank you. That is so helpful. It completely explains the reason for such high quality videos. I will consider getting one of these nest boxes for the next round of babies. We're on the second brood now and they're about a week old.
😮 I’m going to get my car
Where are you going?
Loved this video! I had no idea that when they fledged they were still dependent on their parents for food! I do know that directly after they fledge it’s usually no where near their nest. I see the mom & dad flying deep into the tree line with a mouthful of live mealworms we leave out for them. Now I know why mom and dad are so busy!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!
TYVM for this awesome video of these very pretty birdies! Just took pix of one in my yard a few minutes ago, then scurried here to my desktop to look them up again. I couldn't remember what kind of birdy they were and here we have this BEAUTIFUL video capture of yours! 😍
That is awesome! Thank you so much!
@@BirdsWalkingDown They really ought be called red or rust colored bec they aren't truly "brown". Luv their songs and calls too. They remind me of different colored mockingbirds in their everything. They are curious bec when I talk to them, they run a bit closer to get a better look! 🤣😍
sí Los humanos fuéramos como esa parejas de pajaritos que lindo❤
Thank you for watching
My guess is that you're in Kentucky or Tennessee with your accent? haha I am trying to guess since I am stumped at the timing of my bluebird eggs. I found babies in my nest today... thought they'd be gone in Kentucky in late May.
It's a NC accent ;)
@@BirdsWalkingDown I was so close! Thanks for the video.
Son unos padres muy responsables🤔😁👍
Yes they are!
can you plea take care of my morning dove
Thank you for watching
Awww hahaha he chirps with mouth full of seeds 😅 funny boy
Very funny!
I love finches!! I have a window box feeder and they come every day. It’s the best
Awesome!
I have a pair in my bluebird box…first time ive seen any bluebirds around where i live in 20 years….they have hatched the eggs and the parents are feeding the yoing who,are churping quite loudly..its may 29, 2024 in west Michigan….😁they are beautiful and do some awesome flying stunts!
Awesome! They are beautiful
Reminder to self: Next time add a small lip/ridge to the edge of the shelf so nest materials don't get knocked off accidentally.
Great idea!
Had to cut down a couple trees this year and had a pair build a nest in the wood pile… good thing I noticed before having a fire.. never seen this bird before
Glad you noticed them!
These birds are very rare in my neck of the woods 😢
That's too bad
@@BirdsWalkingDown I've only ever seen one in my yard. Haven't seen another one since.
Spore Gameplay be like:
Thank you for watching
You have put a great deal of thoughtfulness into your bird house design ! Glad to have found your channel !
Thank you so much!
Mom and dad 🌹❤️
That's right
YES!
Thank you
I host bluebird families and this is one of the BEST videos I’ve seen! Just incredible! They’re such good parents. So much can go wrong when they’re trying to raise a successful clutch.
That's awesome. How many nest boxes do you have? Thank you for the kind words
👏👏👏😃🇷🇺💚💚👍
Thank you!
I had one visit my balcony today (much to my indoor cat's delight) and thought it was a juvenile blue jay by its screechy squawk and the tufted head but I know there is a family of these nearby because I hear them whistle daily. They seem to have taken over where my beloved wood thrush once was... I miss their songs but this little titmouse family is entertaining.
Awesome, thank you for sharing!
I hate that you speed up the video, the best part when watching baby birds is to enjoy their happiness and not watching it fast
I have a normal speed video of Bluebirds nesting here kzread.info/dash/bejne/k3-M2LWaaa7Qgdo.html
Thank you for your reply
One of the cutest birds ever!
Agreed!
Зачем в перемотке то? Неужели в реале нельзя было сделать?=😮
Thank you for watching!

Thank you!
I love birds ❤❤
So do I!
Obviously a female mating call
beautiful!!!😊
Thank you! 😊
Further to my comment, I am starting gardening and planned to do some digging, weed pulling, planting, mulching etc in a garden planned just below where the hanging baskets are. I am afraid that all this activity may scare them and possibly leave the nest ? Is that possible ?
It should be fine. They may make alarm calls at you but they will always return to the nest
@@BirdsWalkingDown Ahh! Thank you so much!!!! Relieved! :)
I'm subbed and NONE of your videos come into my feed. Its been that way for six months. The algo is a total joke. Your numbers should be higher.
I think there is a "bell" notification that would put the videos in your feed.
❤️
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this thank you. I buy a couple of boston fern hanging baskets every spring to hag on the porch. Last yr I left the ones I had hanging as I figured for winter interest-rather then empty space and wasn't hurting anyone. I had seen a small finch going into the hanging basket 2 times at beginning of spring and I thought maybe he was eating some bud or something as they were all dried out etc. I went to remove the hanging basket and saw the finch watching me on the edge of the roof and I saw the tiniest nest in there, in the dried out dead fern with the tiniest blue eggs-3 of them, size of jellybeans. I was shocked and it all happened so quickly, I immediately hanged it back up. I fet so bad taking it off-I was in shock and quickly put in back and then went in the house so to encourage the mother to go back and everything ok. I figured she was watching me as I looked and scanned around and did not see her but went I went into the house-saw her go in the basket-I hope i put it back in right direction ...don't know what direction but i just hung it back. I'll just keep my new hanging ferns on the steps. How amazing.
That is a great story! You're kind to leave the basket for them!
@@BirdsWalkingDown Wouldn't everybody do that..I just started a garden right below these hanging baskets and planned to do a lot of digging, weed pulling, planting, mulching etc and now worry that by me doing this will frighten them and abandon the nest..? Do you think I'm ok doing my garden right now...?
Such a Wonderful video… we are enjoying similar process in our first bird house first summer. Blue bird couple is taking care and protecting their babies. It’s amazing to see how without any medical help nature grows by it self… bowing my head to creator GOD…and his limitless powers and beauty. Can’t praise enough 😊🙏
Thank you so much!
Wow, awesome video! New subscriber here ✨✨
Thank you so much!
I love their chirpie chirps and their fluffiness
My sister will be happy you called them chirpie ;)
I spot them stealing a nut or seed and speeding off form my window feeder. But now that I've added sunflower seed kernels, they like to spend more time grazing
That's funny
Perfect little creatures. Does the dad give food to the mom who then feeds the babies? So much to learn. Thank you for this!!❤
Yes the Dad brings food for Mom while she is sitting on the eggs. And he brings food afterward for the babies
A finch just laid eggs in my yard, birds hatched it’s been a little over a week. I noticed for the last 3 days I haven’t seen the mom at nights, does she leave them and only feed them during the day? Thanks! Great video!
After the babies get bigger she may only feed them during the day
Hi bluebirds
Thank you for watching
Loved this! They are all so beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Great footage but I don't hear much of their sounds/calls.
Thank you! Their little honks sounds are pretty low
Thank you for the video I had no idea they laid so many eggs
