Mexico on a Budget!

Hi there, I'm Alena! I'm a lifestyle KZreadr and Travel VLOGGER. Originally from Russia, I now spend my time travelling in Mexico. I have been living in Mexico City for the last 5 years and wish to share with you my experiences. With me you will see Mexico from the expert eye of an expat and foreigner. I will share with you all my experiences and tips so that you do not have to make the same mistakes I did. I have discovered many different things about Mexico which you need to know! I will share all the vast Mexican traditions, culture, and experiences I have been able to have while on a budget… because just because it’s enjoyable does not mean it needs to cost an arm and a leg. That’s why I have created this vlog. To show you how to enjoy all the treasures of Mexico and enjoy life to the full…

    Let's see how was Dia de Muertos in Oaxaca with me! A lot of music bands in the cemetery and crazy devil Muerteada outside the city of Oaxaca. Wedding during the festival. Contest of adornment of tombs. And also what else can you see in Oaxaca about the nature (Hierve el Agua) and food market in Tlacolula.

    How much is a taxi from Loreto Airport to the town? Or is there a bus that goes from the Airport into town?

  • @mexicoonabudget239
    @mexicoonabudget2392 жыл бұрын

    I guess there is a taxi only or just rent a car at the airport. It will be cheaper. Because Loreto doesn’t have public transportation at all.

    Hey, Kanetta! You could ask hotel to meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel. I think its 40usd one way (but it like for whole bus of 8 people, but if its less they still charge the same). I think I also heard about the app "Cabify" that people were ordering taxi to get there. and another option is to rent a car at the airport of Cancun (its like 25 usd per day. I could recommend Avant rent +52 998 865 4276, because they dont freeze money on the credit card and they will meet you at the airport and take you to the rent place for free). Their service is very fast)

    You've been in my hometown San Diego? I use to cross the border to Tijuana years ago. Corrupt TJ police have always been a big problem there, as well as drug cartels. It's listed as one of the most dangerous place on earth because of all the killings year after year. I will go there again, though. The tacos are the best. Have a great day!

    Hello! Can you please tell me how you can get from here to downtown Cancun like coco bongo? I know it is is far do you know if it's expensive to go downtown from this resort?? Thank you!

  • @mexicoonabudget239
    @mexicoonabudget2393 жыл бұрын

    Hello! Yes! It’s better to rent a car from airport of Cancun (I personally used twice “Avant +52 998 865 4276”, I like them because they don’t freeze amount of money on your credit card and their price is better, and they wait for you at the airport to take you to car rent (like 5 minutes away from airport), because hotel will charge a lot (I asked them they said from the airport to hotel it’s 40usd/one way for max 6 person). I also heard that it’s one app (I think “Cabify”, but not sure 100%), it’s like “Uber”. There is no Uber in Cancun. Because official taxis against it. Rent a car will cost around 40 usd for one day. And driving is easy. Just all way straight. If you need to park near CoCo bongo, you can leave your car at the parking lot of Chedraui Selecto, which is 5 min walk away. I went to hotel zone at daytime for swimming in turquoise water. There are 3 public beaches with access to the beach in Cancun Zona Hotelera.

    @@mexicoonabudget239 Thank you so much for getting back to me! That's unfortunate because that's definitely pricey and we wouldn't want to drink and drive. I didn't think about how we would get to the area and back just for the one time because we'll have excursioms that will provide transportation the rest of our trip. Coco bongo is a must 😩😩 thanks again!!

    @@vanessacolbert5398 yes, I think Magestic is nice but not for more then 3 days. Because it’s far away. If you gen there it’s like not really any place to go around except walking on the beach (I walked like 1 hour/one way till Riu (which is last hotel there).

  • @mexicoonabudget239
    @mexicoonabudget2393 жыл бұрын

    Yes, if your hotel in Cancun Hotel Zone (not in Costa Mujeres), there is a bus R2, which cost 12 pesos (0.6usd), which all tourist and locals use to get from numerous hotels of hotel zone to coco bongo or “la isla” (shopping mall). Me personally stay 2 times in Riu Cancun All inclusive and we love the color of water there and quality of sand), and you can just walk 5 minutes to Coco bongo

    Hello Alena! Thanks for you video looks like you have a great time! . Can you please tell me on what dates did you go? , We are planning to visit valle the guadalupe on two weeks but we are afraid that the viñedos are dry so we don't now if they are worth it...We have seen pictures on september with all the viñedos green and full of grapes and the ladscape look amazing! so..hope you can help us with this.. Also do you have any restrictions because of the covid?, that's something that we are afraid of (to not to enjoy 100% of the vineyards, tours and terraces to eat and party), should we wait for another season? Thank you! ( sorry for my bad english hahaha )

    Hello Karen! I went on 7-10 of January 2021. Actually the wine they have they get the grape in July and August to prepare wine. But some wines are from 2016 -2020. And all of them in bottles. You don’t need to be afraid that grape will be dry. Valle de Guadalupe is incredible, so much places to enjoy! It’s totally worth to go and food is really fresh and sooooo tasty. Hope you enjoy! It is the happiest place for me in the whole Mexico!

    No restrictions because of COVID. We went to wine degustaciones without any reservations. Only you need reservation in La Justina and Finca Altozano. And some vineyards (as Bruma and Frida we could not enter because we needed reservation one day in advance). You will need a mask just to enter, but to enjoy wine you will put it off and we never used it most of the time because no any people around you and it’s a lot of space in Valle you can just breath freely. So for me it was real escape from Mexico City, I could put my mask off and don’t think about contamination. Seems like people are free of thinking about COVID there. They enjoy life at full!

    @@mexicoonabudget239 Many of the restaurants in El Valle have outdoor kitchens and dining areas. Many of the tasting rooms are in open spaces, sometimes outside already. My family is from the area, they are all still quarantining and staying in. I spoke to my cousin today and she said things are starting to open up in Ensenada. The people visiting Valle and Ensenada are really tourists mainly. Unfortunately you're not going to get green rolling hills of vineyards during this time unless you go after it's just rained. Vendimia or harvest is every August in most if not all vineyards. I'm more than happy to share some hidden gems if you'd like. Safe travels!
