    great video! thanks for the comparison! :D I just stepped into the color grading world and got a load to learn. ive read the "2Alexa transform" process explanation on Juan Melara's Filmunlimited website for using cameras that are not Arri Alexa or Amira and... is there any methods where i dont have to purchase anything extra for Filmunlimited LUTs? (I prefer using FX3 and BMPCC / Komodo) p.s. i bought Cineprint16 and was wondering if the filter is already adjustable enough for the filmunlimited look

    Usually phones record in either Rec. 709 or Rec. 2020 (iphone HDR, I would turn this off personally). Just use Rec. 709 as your input Color Space and Gamma in the first CST to Arri LogC and turn off the denoise/blur/grain nodes. This should keep your footage from looking splotchy.

    Most of the reviewers fault the S9 for not having mid and flagship specs. They forgot it was an entry-level full-frame camera. For me, they removed the necessary features. If they removed IBIS, open gate, moved to 8-bit then I would be furious because there are no workaround for those. EVF, grip, hotshoe, recording limit... those are all useless in talking head video which most youtubers do. They mount it somewhere facing them (you dont need EVF and grip then), then they use studio lights (you dont need a hotshoe then), they use external hdmi to record (you can bypass the recording limit then).

  • @CartyMadeThis
    @CartyMadeThisАй бұрын

    Yes I feel this is the point I was getting at. Previously owning a ZV-E10 taught me that alot of the hybrid features of the Lumix S5ii are really nice to have, but I could get almost the same results with a different body as long as I had the same senor and output.

    The thing that's missing is it's $300 less without a lens and the same price as s5ii with kit lens. Pricing makes no sense and this analysis of it being a gateway into the ecosystem would make sense if it was $1000. Shit even $1200. It was meant to compete with fuji x100v that's all it is. It was their attempt at trying to combat fujis inability to keep cameras in stock and enticing consumers with a full frame. For content creators this might be a cool camera but for everyone else it's not.

  • @CartyMadeThis
    @CartyMadeThisАй бұрын

    I hear what you're saying, but that is exactly who they made this camera for: Content Creators. The kit lens (20-60mm f/3.5) is a wonderful option that's around $250 on the used market. And then you have the i-Series primes from sigma which are compact and affordable at around $400 used. I agree it isn't the most affordable full frame camera, but the x100 is super35 not full frame and you can't switch the lenses.

    The genius move would have been to keep the EVF and make it more like the Canon R8. That is the best budget full frame camera on the market right now and it's cheaper with better specs...

  • @CartyMadeThis
    @CartyMadeThisАй бұрын

    I mean for that kind of camera, just buy the original lumix s5. This camera is meant to appeal to users who don't need an EVF.

  • @quintessentialgrooming5285
    @quintessentialgrooming5285Ай бұрын

    @CartyMadeThis It's touted as an entry level short form creators camera and a compact full frame travel camera. Having an EVF would make it ideal for the latter. If it had an EVF, and pop up flash, I'd buy it with a 35mm and 50mm prime and take it everywhere.

    Thank you for uploading this video, but I have a question why the output of your CST settings on Cineprint16 is in ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI LogC3? and also I have a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 can I use Cineprint succesfully? Great video!

  • @CartyMadeThis
    @CartyMadeThisАй бұрын

    You can definitely use it! If you record in D-Log m then you will have to do some very specific CST nodes. If you record the standard profile, just use Rec. 709 as your Input Color Space/Gamma in the first CST node.

    Watch Manny Ortiz's video on how bad the focusing is. Forgot the specs and features. If it struggles to focus, who cares about anything else. No mechanical shutter so it's poor option for photography due to banding and picture quality. Very limited record time length. Ergos so bad they gave out free 3rd party grips to all the reviewers. No EVF. No Hot shoe so no way to use a flash etc. No headphone jack. The PROs?: Stabilization is top notch. If you are a Lumix fanboy buy a Lumix s5ii.
