Well, why did Subaru engineers put that "Boost leak" in there?
@PERRINPerformance3 ай бұрын
The venturi is for creating vacuum on the EVAP system under full throttle. It was not on previous generations due to emissions rules. Manufactures need a way to create vacuum on the EVAP system to test for leaks to control fuel vapors entering the atmosphere. Emissions regulations have changed to where they need to be able to test this under light load and high load conditions, where before, they only needed to test it under light load. In older cars during light load, the intake manifold vacuum provided enough for the testing to occur. Subaru had to come up with a way to create enough vacuum under high load for the same testing to occur and this was their answer. Most likely Subaru upsized the turbo to make up for the loss of efficiency and still hit their HP targets. I think this is one of the reasons why we are seeing really awesome HP from the current gen WRX’s.

@PERRINPerformance4 ай бұрын
Welcome back @CRMAG87 as far as open vs closed vs stock your maybe looking at a 2° temperature change. However specifically to the stock box, because it’s plastic it does take longer to cool down after getting warm. In regard to putting heat tape on the end tanks… it is unnecessary because the temperature on the hot side of the end tank is around 50° hotter than the temperature of the engine bay. With that said, it will do no harm so if you’d like to have at it!

@@PERRINPerformance thanks for the updates on that. Trying to make my final decision on the Company and parts to go with for parts with my car since I want a good long daily but with some added fun.
