    Just amazing, those Saxon helmets are just beautifully crafted. And look very intimidating. Our ancestry is something we need to keep alive. Great historic time.

    I just learned about her on History Unplugged podcast and decided to learn more about her. So many impressive videos about her, but all are new. Apparently the world is waking up to the importance of this woman. I hope your festival goes well. I really enjoyed the clip you made here.

I travel up and down the country in all kinds of weather documenting my trips on Castles, Manor houses, Churches & anything else heritage.

    I have noticed that some of these guys don't have helms or body armour (chain or gambesons). As an Aussie reenactor i find this interesting. How are head shots or body shots taken in these cases?

  • @Wirwindyo
    @Wirwindyo8 жыл бұрын

    +Nathanael The Aussie No headshots under any circumstances and hits to the body are fine without armour. We don't hit hard.

  • @NathanaelTheAussie
    @NathanaelTheAussie8 жыл бұрын

    Wirwindyo Yeah, i did see some videos that are as you said which would be what I would imagine. Different groups are can have slightly different views on this (that is the case in Australia) and this may be the case in England as i have also seen groups that mimic head shots too. Crazy i know :P We do head shots but everyone has helmet and neck protection (we do the year 1195 in the Holy Land) and any strike above the armpit level has to be straight down and not diagonal or horizontal. Call us anal about safety.... Different groups are different though, and that makes it interesting :)

  • @Wirwindyo

    Nathanael The Aussie Sounds cool man! I didn't realise you guys are doing reenactment over there. I am originally from Poland so you should check out some of the Slavic festivals. They're crazy, I don't think there are any rules to that. Look up Wolin battle on KZread for a better insight :P

  • @NathanaelTheAussie
    @NathanaelTheAussie8 жыл бұрын

    Wirwindyo I have seen some footage from festivals in Europe and they do look pretty cool! :) Every reenactment group at least has 'some' rules, some less than others XD I have seen the Wolin battle vid and I think it looks heaps of fun!!

    I have just found this video while I was trying to find out information about Kerplunk with my son. We instead got subjected to this BS. Why do public bodies feel they have to produce marketing videos as though they were corporations? Why all the branding bollocks? I am glad I don't live in Tamworth because if my council tax was spent on this sort of pseudo-corporate arsewash I would be furious.
