When a card is cast for its prototype cost, its secondary mana cost, power and toughness replace its default mana cost, power and toughness on the stack and, when it resolves, on the battlefield.

My favorite life swap deck was Kambal, Consul of Allocation. I found there are plenty of ways to pay life so I enjoyed him coming down earlier and padding my life a little before my switch turn. Also the flavor of his name. Anyway fun list thanks!

I’m one of those people with a Nebuchadnezzar deck! With inspiration from a different video, my politics-oriented build uses the commander as a backup way to disincentivize messing with me as I sit behind a pillowfort, all the while I incentivize/force my opponents to fight each other. Still working on how to close out a game, but it’s fun.

So, rules clarification question: With Cayth, Goblin Bombardment and Cauldron of Souls on the battlefield + some ETB payoff creature, would the rules interaction not work like this? : 1. Tap cauldron of souls, granting all creatures you control "Persist" until end of turn. 2. Use G.B. to sacrifice ETB creature that now has Persist, returning it to the battlefield as it dies w/ a -1/-1 counter on it, now a "new" creature. 3. Cayth triggers and uses Fabricate to put a +1/+1 counter on it , cancelling out the -1/-1 counter from Persist. Because the creature changed zones, and it re-etbs as a new creature, wouldnt it NOT have Persist because it isnt the same creature that was originally targeted with Cauldron of Souls? If that's the case, it can't go infinite if there isn't a way to untap cauldron of souls, but I suppose a once per round free reanimation effect in Jeskai is pretty good. Obviously for creatures that ALWAYS have Persist, it works differently, but I just wanted to check.

First ruling on Gatherer about this card 5/1/2008 If a nontoken creature that gains persist this way is put into a graveyard, that card will be returned to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it. However, because it's a new object with no relation to its previous existence, the returned creature will not have persist. So you are correct in the assumption that this decks combo specifically requires a creature with persist on it of which there is only one in the deck.

One somewhat funny way to protect your artifacts is by using mycosynth lattice. Ensures any mass artifact removal besides something like vandalblast is symmetrical and devastating. And means anyone who tries to use vandalblast becomes the target

Pair it with a repeatable targeting ability (Lightning Greaves or Shuko) and something that makes creatures when lands enter (Scute Swarm or Springheart Nantuko) and it's almost infinite

With any 0 mana repeatable target every single creature is 2 cards and possibly free untapped lands. If you have 3 creatures lightning greaves becomes 0 mana draw 6 and put any lands from among them on the field. Every single turn. The one cactus commander from otj becomes an indeterminate infinite

@geeknseek yeah it's got the twin vibes with the kci play. But both were deemed problematic. Its almost like they can't make cards for modern without things being completely broken in the horizons sets.

Amagine this board, ancient copper dragon, old gnawbone, mondrack, and displaced dinosaurs as creatures doubleing season and parellel lives for enchantments you attack with copper dragon, old gnawbone triggers creating 5 tt, you roll a d20, it lands on 20. After all the triggers, this will land you with 95 7/7s. Then, you play the capitolite tryad.

Probably would run Arcane lighthouse instead of Detection Tower as the land tech to get rid of both hexproof and shroud. The former costs like $5 though vs the $2 from detection tower. Great video as always!
