thanks for the video - only comment is that I don't actually know where you are... you talk about a bridge, but where is it...I know Loch Etive area, but where specifically...cheers

Hi Karl the images of the bluebells are sublime and i love the different view of the 3 sisters, i will be staying nearby at Kentallen for 7 days at the end of this month and will spend most of the time in Glencoe and Glen Etive, unfortunately it is to late for the bluebells so will have to wait until next year. Keep up the great work.

Hi Karl. Coming to Scotland from Australia in 2026. Trying to plan trip to optimise best conditions for lanscape. I see By Warwick's post there is a midgee season I would like to avoid. Is spring the best time to come?
@glencoephotography1Ай бұрын
Hi Barry. For weather April/ May is best time of year. Midges arrive around late May although generally they are not too bad unless it’s dusk or dawn. They are not out all the time. Enjoy the planning. Kind regards. Karl

My wife and I ( we live in Australia) were in Scotland in 2023, September time, no midges at all, there are apps that will tell you which areas of Scotland have midges and which dont ( updated daily). Glencoe is so stunning the landscape brought tears to my wife's eyes

Thanks Karl: Very useful to see a seasonal perspective on some Glencoe locations. I'll be making my first trip to Scotland -- with a focus on Glencoe and Skye -- in early October. Any tips on likely seasonal considerations at that time of year? My assumptions so far are that I'll will miss the midges, should see some fall colors, and with luck might see some early snow on some of the higher peaks. Cheers
@glencoephotography1Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. There might be a few midges but not many. Fall colours are amazing and it’s my favourite time of year. Weather can be a bit mixed so fingers crossed you will be lucky. Probably too early for snow on hills. It is best time for landscape photography. Enjoy stunning Skye and Glencoe.

Amazing stuff! What a view! And the image is almost extraterrestial. I am preparing a holiday in Scotland and Glencoe will also be on the program, obviously. These video's are such nice material to get in the mood. Now I only need to convince my fellow passengers, who are not photographers, to spend extra time in the Glencoe region. Thanks for sharing, Karl!

Love your videos and particularly your enthousiasm. And I totally agree with you that composition is more important than technique. Technique does not convey any feelings with the viewer. Love for the landscape does. Keep up the good work!

Incredible images as usual Karl. I was in Glencoe in April but wasn't blessed with good weather. Planning to come back September/October. From your experience what would you say is the better time? I know you can't guarantee the weather but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for those kind words. Mid to late October is the best time for colour. It’s always a risk with the weather but a break in the clouds and a rainbow. Magic

Hi Mel. Thanks for watching. The cauldron is easy. Park at Kings House Hotel then walk up the track at the south end of the car park past the cottages until you get to the brow of the hill then cut across to your right. Lagangarbh Cottage is also very straightforward. Park in the lay-by just past the cottage if coming from south and you will be able to walk to the cottage. Word of warning if you try and drive onto the track to the cottage be careful as you may scrape your sump. Hope that helps. Kind regards. Karl
