    We always tried to get the catchers and pitchers bullpen work. Depending upon starts and pitch counts for the week. We had pitchers warm up with the catchers around 25-50 pitches max. Pretending to work counts just trying to throw strikes. Nothing special just getting the battery used to working together alone and building a relationship. This video was the first I ever made so I kept this channel for our Fisher Traction and my chiro office. Hope it helps!

    But it does make just a touch of sense. I also think of your demonstration in a curiosity way. I wonder how the elimination of certain blockages of the body and bodies different transportation networks or systems and I wonder in what ways can the networks or systems become blocked... for instance 1 energy that repels another persay magnets and the disruption of energy they cause being one that's on a very small scale but can cause blocks of bigger scale being that a wave of electrons pushed in such a way that they aren't getting to where they are needed is similar to earth needing humans to breathe cause it transmutes bad air into good air and then for some reason or another regarding they're breathing systems capabilities all of a sudden humans can't breathe anymore. It'd then prevent earth from being able to get what it needs and in doing so it'd die unless of course humans or earth were able to adapt to whatever change needs made in order to keep things working as needed... another way for the disruption to occur is if a something Inside the system inside the system blocked itself from working... actually my first example is better used for this if looking at it from the universes point of view. A better example of the first one would be an unexpected geoforming causing humans to go nearly extinct and the cascade or snowball-avalanche of problems that'd result from that. Another would be external forces (aliens) being injected into the system (earth/our solar system) and then those aliens forcing change on the humans by terroforming our planet or by enforcement of the ideals and way of life of said aliens onto the already existing ideals and way of life. Ultimately that'd result in both systems blending together like the colors blue and red sharing a bunch of both colors but ultimately changing the overall grand outcome whence the cations and aliens stop fighting and find themselves a happy medium neutral ionization or idealization... 😂 anyhow thanks for the thought provoking meditation exercise or meditatideal. Really helpful, actually I'm genuinely glad I stopped to reflect a bit on this these different analogylitcal point of veiws. Or points of veiw whichever it'd be...😅

    Ok, but do the same thing for any living vs. dead organisms and you'll get a response. What you just demonstrated is the same in my opinion as kicking a dead person or setting a dead body on fire or electrocution of a dead body and comparing it to the same actions being done on a living body that's connected to a nervous system and living organs brain etc... if blood and air and water, food, electrical signals transfer through the body, it's probably going to have a different effect than if blood, air, water, food, electrical signals don't travel through the body....

    This is the only video we made....but remember if you're coaching rec ball all the kids need to learn how to play the game and who knows what positions they will ultimately be playing when they get older so teach them all. I always found that asking the kids what positions they liked the best and had the most confidence at helped decide where they would play. You always want to put kids in the best position for them to experience success not failure. For example if you have a kid who not real fast or athletic it would be hard to put them up the middle (ss, 2B, CF) or if a kid was afraid of the ball you can't put them at C or 1B. Definitely have every kid try pitching as you'll always need arms with the pitch count rules. Everyone still has to play the infield for at least 1 inning too. If you got a couple guys that really want to play the same position have them compete for the job as competition is good. I always told kids I needed them to play certain positions as they gave us the best chance to win and they were the best at that position which made them feel good and important for the team's success. Learn your players and learn what motivates them to play their best!

    I recall watching this video 6+ years ago when I was just getting into coaching with a t-baller and was searching for practice ideas. It seemed so far advanced, but I loved the organization and constant action/reps for the players (which were my biggest takeaways at the time). Now I've got a few more years of experience and am at the 10U rec league level. I revisited this video and incorporated nearly every drill in my recent 90 minute practice. I'm fortunate to have some great coaches that ran tight stations and we kept the kids moving with very few breaks. Each kid was begging for more by the time we wrapped up. Jeff - I know you're "retired", but this video has assisted (and will continue to assist) more coaches with running fun, efficient, and impactful practices than you'll ever know. I'm on the board of my NorCal youth baseball league and have sent this to every new coach as an example for how to run a practice. A big thanks to you and the Newport Beach Youth Baseball League for putting this together. I only wish you had more videos, but am appreciative and grateful that you put together this one to share with the world!

I'd welcome any and all suggestions you might have! I'd love to read your thoughts on teaching our young players how to pitch and play the catcher position. It's impossible to have too much pitching and many of these players are learning the fundamentals. The catcher position is another that demands a lot of one on one time. Seeing players succeed at these most demanding and highly involved positions on the field is one of the most rewarding parts of the game. @@jefffisher123066

    Gross over simplification. Manual traction and massage to release muscles above and below often gently allow for the subluxation to release and return to normal position, relieving pressure on nerve impingement. I never work directly at the level of impingement as you demonstrated on the red finger superiorly. Chiropractic is great too but I’ve been doing medical massage for 30 years and find that medical massage techniques are just as effective when dealing with nerve impingements.

  • @jefffisher123066
    @jefffisher1230667 ай бұрын

    Always check with your surgeon first for clearance if your surgery has been under 12 months. Typically 1 year after fusions have healed and are stable you can start inducing traction gradually and increasing pull forces at your tolerance. I have two fused levels in my neck that are over 10 yrs old…I use traction as often as needed and it helps. Zero adverse effects to my neck from using traction I only experience relief. Tractioning the levels above and below the fusion is vital to prevent the adjacent levels to degenerate and prevent them from needing surgery too. If you have anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask.

    Traction/Decompression has been found to reduce the size of the herniation or bulge in some cases for an extended period of time. We have not found any long term studies to confirm but the theory is it becomes stable. The take away is if it works than it can be used again in the event the herniation or bulge increases in size again. Traction has not been shown to cure disc herniations permanently but if it works even temporarily this offers people the option outside of surgery which is permanent. Although Traction is not a cure all it is a great alternative for individuals seeking a natural therapy to manage their pain without surgery or medication that only covers up their symptoms. For more research data please visit our website to view our library of over 50 studies on the effectiveness of traction on multiple conditions people suffer from. Hope that helps. You can also watch my library of KZread videos that several touch on what happens during traction in the body.

    ive gone to several chiros and never gotten an xray. one of them gave me a halfass adjustment and told me i needed to work on my core muscles when i complained about wanting to yank my head off to relieve the immense discomfort i felt in my neck. the most recent chiro i went to did an xray and identified the problem immediately. my neck was the problem and it explained so many of the symptoms ive been having for years that was a mystery to doctors. i guess everyone just glossed over my mention of a head injury twenty years ago.

  • @kicknotes
    @kicknotes Жыл бұрын

    What you're talking about here is part of my problem with chiropractors in general: an apparent lack of standardization. In this case, I agree with you: I'm inclined to think that x-rays should be taken, but I've had many (at least 4-5) chiros tell me that they don't take x-rays because "x-rays are only for broken bones", "x-rays can introduce bias" (which this particular chiro explained as, "my hands are better judges than an x-ray, and I don't want to be swayed in how I treat based on what I see vs. what I feel"), etc. Obviously, I'm not a doctor (or a chiro). I saw your other video with the case study about the safety of neck manipulations, and I've also wondered why we don't have more data on this. Sure, we have *numbers* (though some argue the complications are grossly under-reported), but we don't seem to have context data. For example, if you search KZread for "chiro stroke", you'll find at least 2-3 videos which claim a neck adjustment caused VAD/stroke, but there's never anything reported (it seems) about the specific manipulation. Was it lying down? Seated/Gonstead? Did it involve any of these new (?) cult-like techniques like the Y-strap or the Ring Dinger? Surely if the medical community as a whole wants to get to the bottom of the safety (or lack thereof) of cervical manipulations, the specifics of the technique potentially at fault need to be considered... so why aren't they? On the same vein (and not necessarily a problem, per se, but a frustration) is that the gamut of treatment varies widely from chiro to chiro... I saw one chiro who (on my first visit) did no manipulations and instead sold me supplements to relax me, as his claim was that if I'm always tense and stressed, no adjustments will ever "fix" me on their own. In fairness, he did some light traction and a few other treatments, but no adjustments (neither manual nor Activator/etc.). Another chiro (upon hearing this) told me flat out, "that's what guys who aren't confident in their hands will say" -- meaning that if your chiro isn't "cracking" you, they're not doing their job. This guy confidently told me, "I don't do massage, I don't do heat/stim, I don't do stretches/exercises. What makes a chiro a chiro IS the adjustments." Two OTHER chiros (yes, I've seen many) upon hearing THAT guy's spiel told me that if a chiro is ONLY adjusting you, you're being done a disservice, as massage, tissue work, mobility exercises, etc. were essential to keeping you OUT of the chiro office after your 5th or 6th visit. Long story short, I'm still in pain, and it's tough -- and it's made worse by a profession that I believe *can* help, but the grossly conflicting modalities, opinions, etc. make knowing who to see and/or what to do quite a challenge.

  • @kicknotes
    @kicknotes Жыл бұрын

    Just to piggy-back onto my last comment: I just watched this (watch?v=DXyE7SNPDV4) video, and that manipulation looks like it uses way more rotation than others I've seen... Some chiros can seemingly perform an adjustment with a small amount of movement and a light bump, others are taking the head off on extreme angles and/or with extreme rotation, often with what looks like a fair amount of force. I don't quite get the disparity in techniques here, and that's also part of what concerns me...

  • @jefffisher123066
    @jefffisher123066 Жыл бұрын

    @@kicknotes Wow you got a lot there….I’ll take a swipe at it! Sorry for your frustrations. I agree the chiropractic profession does not have a cookie cutter standard that we all follow. But we all have taken the same oath to help our patients…just some are better than others at doing this just like any profession. We are required in every state to take CEU’s to maintain our licenses which must include lectures on treatment. Not sure what people are learning but I always get great stuff that I implement immediately to treat my patients better. Schools are problems too as they all follow their own philosophies on how to treat patients. It can be confusing I understand. Stroke stats say 1 in a million but that doesn’t include Osteopaths and physical therapists who manipulate patients also. Chiros are the best trained at it but it seems it all gets dumped on us while the others are ignored. The estimate seem very high considering stats also estimate 35 million new patients see chiros per year for their first time and there are only 70,000 estimated Licensed practicing chiropractors in the US. We as a profession estimate the average chiro performs 100 spinal manipulations per week times that by 52 weeks generating on the high end 5200 treatments a yr. If you estimated from this there are upward of 364 million chiropractic manipulative maneuvers performed per year. From the statistics I’ve researched published on malpractice claims against chiros over the past 30 yrs…on the high end there is an average of 298.9 claims filed against chiros( ranging from minor injuries to broken ribs to strokes and death) 70% the chiros won 25% the plaintiff won. The highest published report I’ve found is an average of 7 claims per yr were filed in a 30 yr span claiming strokes being caused following chiropractic manipulation. To me that would mean the current studies estimating the chances of stroke following chiropractic manipulation of the cervical spine which is 1 in a million is extremely over estimated considering three factors, one we live in a very litigious country, strokes are hard to hide after they happen and chiropractic is highly scrutinized by the public/medical doctors. Just for the sake of argument if there are 100 strokes caused by chiros a year with 364 million manipulations happening regardless of the techniques used that still only generates approximately 1 stroke in 3.6 million attempts. Just to put that into perspective being hit by lightning in the US is about a 1 in a million chance. Chiropractic is one of the most criticized and ridiculed professions on the planet so wouldn’t you think every time a chiro causes a stroke it would be front page news and if chiropractors were so dangerous we wouldn’t be having 35 million first time patients entering our clinics and our malpractice insurance wouldn’t be less than car insurance. I don’t know maybe it’s just me but does that make sense? I myself have treated over 300,000 patients in my career and it’s not by luck I’ve never had one claim filed against me in 32 yrs of practicing in the same county since I started. But than again I either X-Ray every new patient unless they provide me with their own X-rays taken within 6 months of our first visit(unless they’ve had recent trauma which than I take films or I don’t treat them…I don’t guess when it comes to my patient’s health). I’ve always said X-Rays don’t lie. Unfortunately many chiropractors can’t afford to invest in having X-Rays in their office so they manufacture excuses as to why they don’t need them or you don’t. Sounds like you’ve bounced around to a lot of different offices. Chiropractic and nothing for that matter is an immediate cure. You have to make sure no matter who you try give it at least 1 month or 12 visits to insure you’ve exhausted the chance it will work. If after 12 visits and you’re no better or by chance worse your chiro must refer you out for at least another opinion or an MRI to see why you’re not responding. 1 visit corrects nothing but maybe the overlying symptoms but no way the cause or origin…it would be like working out one day or dieting 1 day than stopping because you didn’t experience satisfactory results. I strongly suggest ask someone you trust who they see or pick the most successful longing practicing chiro in your area never the cheapest or the one who’s waiting room is empty. Most people don’t know that on average there are 250,000 to 440,000 deaths per year directly related to medical care but yet more people are concerned about chiropractic care being dangerous who on average account for an estimated less than 3 deaths per year over the past 20 yrs. I do know that the chiro profession sued and won against the AMA for a smear campaign against chiropractic called the Wilkes trial. Ask yourself if our numbers of harm are so low and theirs are so high why does the focus always come back to us? Our patient satisfaction rating have always been in the 90th percentile but yet we’re the bad guys. I’m guessing it’s all relative and everyone needs to weigh their own risks versus rewards no matter what we do. Great thing about our country is we have the freedom of our own choices and we’re all entitled to the freedom of our own opinions. I’ve always tried to live by this…God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Hope this helps!

    x rays don't show more than bone, i had ligament laxity the chiro kept re aligning my pelvic, 3 times per week he never stopped, cause both my hips to snap, groin pain i went into sport medecin and got prolotherapy and PRP, chiros are incompetent losers.

    My dad always took x-rays before treatment to be safe, like your saying. Doc. Holiday Chiropractor. Opened his practice in 1951-1994. Was only 2 chiropractors in the city and people didn't really know what they did. There was only 2 chiropractors here in Mishawaka Indiana until the 80s then 3. Now theres dozens of them.

    Sorry to hear that. It does happen. Chiropractic is not a cure all by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully they took x-rays before beginning any adjustments. When patients are evaluated properly via ranges of motion, neurological testing and provocative testing(stressing bone, (joint integrity with force) & x-rays; practitioners are able to more accurately determine their patient’s outcome potential. If chiros don’t, thoroughly evaluate patients and go straight to the adjustment their gambling with your body. Did you receive x-rays or an MRI and if so what we’re the findings?

    From that team most are either graduating from college this year or have one more year. One stud will more than likely be drafted this year. 3 played college football, 2 lacrosse in college, 1 soccer in college.....rest not sure but that was a pretty athletic team!

    You can do the same types of stations maybe use tennis balls and wiffle balls so they get over the fear of hardballs. Have them practice catching those types of balls with their hands and no gloves too. Put targets up likes traffic cones or buckets to have them try and throw at them as games. Relay races with throwing in a straight line is good too. Make sure you start referring to the bases as numbers....1,2,3 and 4 so when you're yelling at them to throw the ball to a base they're know where. plus this helps with base running on getting them to go to and stop at a base when on the base paths. Lots of tee work for hitting and soft toss....how to set themselves up in the box when hitting by laying their bat down to the front of the plate and lining their front toe up to the bat. That's a tough age with lots of chaos my heart goes out to you brother! That's all I can think about besides just make it fun and always make drills a game of competition so they grow up loving the game!

    @@harkenm You'll do great than! I coached both my guys at football and baseball. I basically used the stations for both sports. I tried to draft my football players on my baseball teams so they already knew how to follow orders and work hard. Plus we'd talk about football all year around and I could keep my linemen in shape so they'd make weight!!! My opinion is team chemistry was the most important thing.....if these guys learned to love each other like brothers they'd do anything to win for each other! Building trust... builds team. Good luck this year!

    Quick Question, on the fielding section, the outline says divided into 4 groups (20 min: 10 Min Each)......if its 20 minutes and 4 groups wouldnt it be 5 min each? 10 min. each for 4 groups would be 40 min...am I missing something?

    I might have meant to write 20 min 5 min each... I think you're right! But if they need more work it could be 40 min 10 min each. You can dial it in anyway you want. Good catch!
