Very glad I bought this, it’s one of those bags that seems small at first but actually holds a lot, as long as you’re fine with putting your tent/mat ect on the outside you can fit everything you need for a couple days. it doesn’t look silly having stuff attached to the sides like some wider packs do. But If you want everything inside your bag id get a 50-60 litre.
I have both. Although I enjoy the DBK boys, I like the B1 better. Actually it’s become one of my favorites even compared to “higher end” knives. Only complaint is that I would like the edge to be ground closer to the handle.
Great! Must have been a fun comparison for you😄👍 Good point on the grounding / grinding closer to the handle. The knife grip itself is leaving you like a 7 mm grip from the steel( thumb not included, that lays in our case parallel to the steel almost) and than you have the part on the blade which is like 7 mm - 1 cm ? Would be a good optimisation to start the grind at least half of that length. Would you agree? = 5 - 6 mm shorter? Cheers😁👍
@@westcoastbushcrafters bps is really making some nice and affordable knives. Like you, I sharpened the spine on the B1. Also, had to do a little sanding then oil on the handles. Still nice knives for the price.
Can not agree more. Sitting here with the two BPS knives in front of me now . Getting this bushcraft feeling with them. Specially with B1. Nice to see that the blade has so much metal. Classic 👌
Great music video, guys 👍
Thanks a lot for that 😄👍
I have large hands, so the handle on a knife is important to me. Also, living near the sea, stainless is a pre. I must say, this is a beauty, and I love to work with it. Thanks for this video, I enjoyed it a lot. Greets from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, TW.
Dankjewel!! 😁👍 With large hands this knife must be perfect for you. It has a big handle. Awesome to hear, it applies same here at the west coast regarding stainless😁 Dankjewel dat je een bericht schrijft na het kijken van de video. Mooi te horen dat de video in de smaak viel👍. Geniet van je Helle Nord🔥🤘
@@westcoastbushcrafters : Dat gaat me zeker lukken 👍
Excellent! It's probably a bad sign that I've just spent my Saturday night watching "reruns" of your videos, but I had a great evening. Thanks so much for making these videos.
“I had a great evening “ isn’t it that most important. Happy to hear that our videos were part of that! Thank you for rerunning our content and appreciating it!😁🤛
@@westcoastbushcrafters Yes, it's the next best thing to being outdoors myself. Really a fabulous channel!
Love this! I probably watched this video five or six times before I ended up ordering my own Frej. It's a lovely knife, probably the nicest I own, and will more than satisfy my beautiful knife needs while I await delivery of a Randall Made Model 25.
Haha awesome to hear that! The stacked leather on this knife, love it! Been bee waxing it with the hairdryer a couple of times now and the leather soaks up that stuff making it a bit more darker and most likely more durable. A beauty it is! How long of a wait time do you have on the model 25?
@@westcoastbushcrafters I found a dealer that can get me one in nine months. It's a long time, but a lot shorter than the six years (!) that you have to wait to get one directly from Randall. I still have two or three months left before I get it.
Love your show you have another subscriber... the Joker knife is the knife for me
Thanks a lot for commenting and subscribing! You will not be disappointed 😁👍
I have the Scandi grind with a curly birch handle. Fantastic knife, great value for m8ney and a super versatile blade.
If you like the Canadian Special, you should give the D.H. Russell Canadian Belt Knife as made by Grohmann a try. It's the knife that the Canadian Special was based on and is one of the most iconic North American outdoor knives. I'd put the Kephart and Nessmuk in the same category as knives designed specifically for outdoor recreation as opposed to general purpose knives that were used for outdoor activities.
Hi! Thanks a lot for pointing out the Canadian belt knife. Have been googling and watched some KZread videos of this knife efter your comment. Makes me very curious. Guess it will be a purchase soon😁. Thanks again!
Just ordered this knife. Really exciting! 😁👍
09:08 that smile means everything!!!!
Hahaha 😂 wish you could send smell and taste through KZread😂😁👍
Thank you again for an awesome video. I would be interested in your general experience about your favourite grind form for feathersticking. Convex, scandi or "industrial". Maybe you can compare this directly with similar wood? p.s. if there are more caps to win I would like to be part of the raffle.
Thank you! Great suggestion! started to discuss it as an idea for an episode. Think we can make a interesting episode about it! In the upcoming episode we will have a new cap lottery 🥳
Is this your favorite knife so far? If not what is?
LT Wright Illuminous 5 is the favorite so far😁👍
Awesome! And the song is good
Thats great😁 Thanks!!
Joker es buena marca, otra de las marcas punteras españolas es Cudeman. Buen vídeo 👍
Hi! Thanks a lot for mentioning Cudeman! Was not familiar with that knife brand. Looks promising! Like the looks of the buahcraft and bushcrafter knives. Thanks 😁👍
I own a Joker knife and they are high quality for a great price. Their sheaths are incredible Spanish leather. 🎸🔪
We couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching!!
spain not only has beautiful women, but also beautiful knives :D
Hahaha sounds like you have only good experience with Spain😁👍
great video guys you earned my sub 100% I love this knife the worksharp mk2 knife sharpener sharpness this knife into a hair shaving machine
Much appreciated! Thank you! Sounds like your knife is in tip top shape😁🤘👍
Great company, great knives, great fit and finish, and great price and value!!! have to say that I am very pleased with Spanish knives. Great review and video guys!!! Skåll!!!
Fully agree on that!!😁👍 thanks very much! Skål!!🍻
I love this channel! You guys are awesome. I buy almost every knife you review. :) I bought the 6.5-inch model. LOVE It.
Hahaha that is fantastic to hear! Thanks so much for following us! That 6.5 inch model is now on our wish list 🥳
Excellent video! I have the larger model of this knife with the 6.5" blade and like it a lot. It's one of my favorite big knives and your video highlighted its strong points. What a fabulous channel!
Awesome to hear! Thanks a lot!! We get very curious in the 6.5 inch version. Lots of positive comments on that knife! Something for the future 😁🤘
I have the Nomad 6.5, and I love it! I see no reason to think the regular one isn't just a good, minus 1.5 inches in blade length. Joker never ceases tom impress me with the quality of their knives vs the price they go fo.
It is really amazing! This will not be our last joker knife 😉👍
Thanks for sharing guys! Nice knife!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!😁
Hi guys, you have chosen a real knife this time! So it's a chopper, probably no one needs to be afraid of chopping wood with this. It's a big and robust knife, it was nice to see it in action! Thanks for the great video! Good luck and health and good luck with your work!😉🌲🍀🔪👍
Hi! It was outstanding in chopping and batoning! Great allround knife! Thanks so much for watching again and your comment! Good health and all the best!😁
@@westcoastbushcrafters 😊👍🙋♀
Best knife for fire making I know
That is so cool! Works fantastic!😁👍👍
Thanks for another nice video from the Swedish west coast. The Joker Nomad knives are great heavy duty companions. I have both the 5 inch and 6,5 inch versions. Both of them handles better than you you expect for being such heavy and thick. The nicely designed convex make them more versatile than you would expect. They are also very well balanced. I think Joker gives you more quality and bang for your buck than any other knife maker. They are on par with my Fällkniven knifes.
Thanks a lot!! You point it out perfectly regarding Joker knives! This is the second Joker knife we tested and as you write it performs above expectations and very good price quality. Definitely not the last Joker knife we will purchase. Take care!
hey guys. first of all thanks for the great video👌. love my Nomad👌. you absolutely have to try the Nomad 6.5👌 love that too. 👌. you could test mine, provided you come to me and pick it up😇. and at the same time you could bring the really cool cap with you😂 I'm really happy to have won it🙏 thank you very much and keep up the good work👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi René! Hahaha that is a great fun offer!😁 Unfortunately no travel plans to Switzerland 🇨🇭 but when it changes we give you a message 🔥🤘! Congratulations with the cap!! Hope you will enjoy it! All the best! 😁👍👍
Great video. Informative. Picking up my Nord tomorrow. Stoked.
Congratulations with your new Nord! Hope it fulfills your expectations! Thanks for the comment!
@@westcoastbushcrafters it's on my right hip now in Yoho National Park. What a beast of a knife!
@ed3829 wow! What an awesome place!! Checked some pictures. Can not think of a better place to test the knife out. Have a good time!!🔥
Very good review, thanks for that!
Thanks for watching! 😁👍👍
I absolutely love your youtube channel, but it would be nice to remember a varied audience may be watching as such could do without the f- bombs. Always looking forward to more of your videos.
Thanks a lot for your feedback! And great to hear that you appreciate our content. Not a problem to cut the f bombs in future videos 👍
You should check out the Hudson Bay Mini. Great review!
Thanks a lot! Cool duo that must be. Looks very nice! Have you tested the Hudson Bay mini?
Pacino and De Niro…
😂👍
Really enjoyed this video guys! Thank you for the awesome test and feedback!
Awesome to hear from you guys! Means a lot when it comes from the GOAT! Thanks Guys!!
@@westcoastbushcrafters you're Very welcome! It's our pleasure. I'm very happy to see our designs getting used! And we always love objective feedback 💪🙏
It was a real pleasure to test the knife out😁👍. One day we will order the TRC DBK Bushcrafter. That will be fun to make a video about in the Swedish forest here😁🤘! Take care and keep up the good work 💪
Where's the tip test? The sheath retention? The DBK girls even broke of the tip of the knife they 'designed' and tested.
We tested the knives out as we always do.
Error, West Coast not Northwest. Still thanks 🎸🔪
You guys are one of the very best knife channels on KZread! When I first saw your site I thought it was featuring Northwest Washington where I live, but when I found out it was Finland I thought this is even more fun. Thanks 🎸🔪
So happy to hear that you are liking our videos! Big compliment to be called one of the very best knife channels! Thanks for that! Hope you like Sweden, because that is where we live ;-) and filming. Finland is not that far away though:) Thanks a lot!
I love mine. Been using it now for about 2 years. Mine has scandi grind with the stainless and not a problem keeping sharp. I like the mass of it and has become my main camping knife for all your reasons you show. If you ever get the opportunity to use on processing game, you will not be disappointed - it is superior. I agree it is a tough knife. I would have went with the wood scales as the antler will be hard to hold when cold in winter.
Good advice! We only have the saber grind and can imagine a scandi grind will be awesome. It is on our wishlist! We will keep in mind your advice about the wood scales. Thanks!!
I don't have the Joker Nessmuk, but would love to get my hands on one, even for a loner to test and review. I have 2 Joker knives, and they are both outstanding. the quality of construction, and fit and finish are just perfect. I have 2 Nessmuk design knives, and the blade shape, and overall utility of the design deserves a place in everyone's collection of bushcraft and field knives. I love that this comes with a dangler, I wind up putting one on most of my field knives. good video, and good review.
We agree danglers are great! We like the Nessmuk design a lot as well! Hope for you to get your hands on this one. Guess you will like it a lot. At least we do:)! Thanks a lot!
Beautiful knife but needs a lot of maintenance as it rusts quite quickly ,by the looks of it .Lee
Thats right! But when you love a knife you take good care of it. Cheers!
Do you guys like the Lars Falt better than the Forester? I want to buy one of their blanks either the #10 or Lars Falt and was wondering your opinion. I like the handle on both knives but ive heard the #10 is very comfortable. I love building my own handle scales saves me a ton of money.
Lars Fält 100%! It is one of our favorite knives in our collection. Thanks for asking! Good luck!
I would choose the A1 since it needs no maintenance at all. You can use both knife and sheath even in salt water and just rinse it off with some fresh water. Get a leather sheath all soaked in salt (or fresh) water and you have a problem. A wooden handle and leather sheath are really pretty to look at but not the most practical.
Good summary of the power of Fällkniven!
Well, obviously i want a cap as well
You are in the race!
Another excellent video. I have the B1 and it's a very nice knife, especially for the money. Thanks for yet another entertaining, informative video.
Thanks so much! Great to hear you are enjoying the B1!
I also really love my B1, its so good and at the same time has such a good price that you really want to work with it without being afraid of destroying it... just great
Such a strong point, like you say… just great 😁👍
Maybe I’d like a cap! Ha ha. Great video guys. I have the DBK version you used here. I was shocked at how small the handle was. It is still a great knife, I would prefer a larger handle though.
Sorry for the late reply! Well first of all, check out our new upcoming video ( still in progress) so you hopefully will be one of the lucky ones next time 😁👍 Happy to hear you liked the video. Just had to test the grip again before answering you. Indeed it is not that big but for us (size 9 gloves Hestra) it works well. But definitely not on the big side. “Lagom” they say in Sweden😉
another great video guys. Ps I would love one of your caps. Cheers
Thanks a lot! You are part of the lottery🥳
Wow, awesome! Thanks guys!!! 😀😀 Another great video! Was curious how these two knives would compare against each other ever since the Bushmate came out 👍
Haha cap is send and heading on a long trip towards you😁💪! Congratulations! Hope you like it! Cheers😁🍻
Thank you for the wonderful video. I want a cap too.
You are in the game for a cap🥳! Thanks very much for watching 😁👍
The sheath of the BUSHMATE does not hold the knife in place, and if you just pulled the knife out, you don't even need to open the snap because it's all loose fitting ,
Same here, when the B1 was stuck and used the bushmate for making a wedge I could pull it out without opening.
Always great to wach your videos. Would be great to win the cap and wear it in here Germany.
Thank you so much! You are included in the lottery! Thanks a lot!! Skål! 🍻
Lovely knife!!! the design just rocks!!! not much to say about it, great video guys!!! skål!!!
Most likely this knife is in our top 3 we use the most. Besides that Lars Fält one of our Swedish bushcraft / survival heros. The man has some knowledge. Thanks so much! Skål!!🍻
