Great video, thanks for sharing. I lived in Chicago for nearly 10 years and my go-to when really hungry was a very wet Italian beef sandwich. My favourites were Mr. Beef, Portillo's, and Buona Beef. It sounds to me like Marq's was closer to the real deal, and will make my way there and give it a go
Omg! I've lived in Toronto all my life and never head of Sunny !! Thank you for another amazing and informative video you two are cute together and fun can't wait to try the orange chicken ( yes I'm that simple guy) lol and the french toast ❤ stay blessed you two!!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! We so appreciate it❤ Nothing wrong with a simple palette, as long as the food is appetizing and speaks to you! Again thanks for the comment and view ❤
Sounds like the OG Sbarro & Teriyaki Experience in the Queen St. Eaton Centre food court faired better than Queen's Crossing. I remember making my payday meal with my brother in the 90s for $5 teriyaki specials still hard to beat for top notch dinners there.
Noooo. Go to GLORYHOLE!!!
we LOVE Glory Hole! The Toast and Butter donut remains one of our favourites. We'll have to visit soon for a Part 2 of this video!
I've done Schezuan Express at the Outlet Collection on my way to Niagara Falls. They're OK, nothing spectacular or very unique in terms of a Chinese food court stall. But me being Chinese and with my old stomping grounds of Chinatown just a 15-20min walk north of there , I guess will have higher expectations. For food courts, I prefer Shanghi360. You pay for the uniqueness of Japadog, value is subjective. I'd probably try them once at the very least. Gus Tacos catches my eye, but its mostly because I pass by one all the time and have never been in (yeah, I gotta change that). And The Island, I miss having access to decent rotis since my goto shut down. Or oxtail. I'm kicking myself for not taking advantage of living a stones throw away from Little Jamaica in my youth years.
Excellent video on St. Lawrence Market. We used to visit 25 + years ago, it was amazing back then & was not as popular. Good times.
Oh awesome sounds like you had some great memories here! Any spots you would recommend? Anything we missed you'd like to see in a future visit?
Good stuff. Nice to have a couple of affable folks stroll around and explore Toronto and check out the food and such. Cheers.
Thank you so much! That's so kind of you to say ❤ Really appreciate your view.
I use to work in the area before COVID. My parking spot was across the way on Jarvis in the underground Canada Parks, and they get pretty full on weekends due to the St Lawrence Market. My spot there was Uno Mustachio for their veal and eggplant sandwich, especially since I never pass by a Californias or San Franciscos. Uno Mustachio's isn't anywhere near as big as the other 2, but it is almost as well stacked for less (I'm not sure what the price point is now, its been 5 years for me). And the bread they use was fresher and crustier. The only thing, at least a busy Califnornas has over Uno Mustachio is that the veal is crunchier and less soggy.
Uni Mustachio for the win! Thanks for sharing your go to order with us and your parking tips! Those are super handy when navigating Toronto Streets❤
I still contend Marchello's on St. Clair W and Dufferin still has one of the best pizzas for an undiscovered place. I loved going there for their fried calamari and penne alla vodka, but their gnocchi was one of the best. But note, this was back before I moved out of the area over 10 years ago. I know the restaurant is still there from people like Johnny Stride and Toronto dashcammers that pass by there. So I don't know what the food is like now.
Marchello you say? That sounds awesome! Thank you for sharing your go to order, i'm drooling already ❤
I JUST WENT TO BATHURST/DUNDAS AND DID NOT SEE A CONTAINER STOP --MARQ'S CHICAGO BEEF. MUST BE CLOSED NOW
Oh I'm sorry you missed them! They do sell out early in the day, so I recommend mobile ordering before you go to ensure you secure a sandwich. Otherwise they sell out and close up. I hope that helps, this sandwich is a must try❤
Love your videos!
Thank you so much! We were just getting started here so i appreciate the support and love ❤
Great video guys! A really nice review of the food options and flavours. 👌
Thanks man! We think your videos are pretty incredible! So that’s high praise from you, we appreciate it.
Go to San Remo bakery they have have the best 🍩
My favs are North of Brooklyn and Blondies . I like white sauce pizza more than the tomato one.
Both are great options. Toronto pizza never disappoints ❤
Food court. Food hall? What’s the difference.
I've yet to try Von's. You've sold me on it!
It was so good and you cant beat that beach view!❤
Their menu selections cost them 100$ for tacos and burgers😂
Alot of people know about the quality of Badiali's Pizza. But I love the way you talk about Taverne Bernhardt's. Better than I imagine my best Rotisserie Chicken experience? I'd say part of those experiences is my love for St Hubert BBQ gravy sauce or Swiss Chalet sauce. I really like to try how that gravy compares.
Thanks so much for the comment, if you get a chance to check out Taverne Bernhardts's let us know what you think! The personal gravy boats were my favourite part! No sharing needed so you can really go to town❤
I work in the CF building attached to the Eaton Center. This place was so hyped up and had the looks and vibes but was super disappointing. The vendors I tried were overpriced, bland and disappointing. And they say it’s Chef inspired and is supposed to be positioned as a more gourmet food hall but nothing about it is gourmet. Better off just going to the main lower level food court and getting the classic grub for less.
Thanks for the response! It was super hyped but missed the mark for sure! Let us know if you have any favourites in the area we should check out.
Omg! I Love it! Heading there this weekend Thanks for the inspiration and motivation to go ❤
Hope you enjoy it sir! Have a great time 😊
when cheese on the pizza is golden and dark brown, you know its processed and not real mozzarella!
What the best day of the week to go? Thanks
Hi there, for the best experience, I'd recommend going on Saturday. The market is busier, parking is tougher, but the atmosphere can be worth it. You may also want to check out the market street schedule if you want to pair it with an event, as I believe there's a music series going on. Have a good time, and enjoy it when you go!
I would rather go here than the well food hall! The lobster sandwich looks great, expensive tho
This has to be my favourite lobster sandwich i've had. Totally worth the price tag ❤
5$ for a cookie! I’d rather just go to Tim hortons 😂
I don’t hear a review of the taste of the lobster roll??
Hi Mahy4, The flavour was really good but the portion felt tiny for the price. Its good but its small.
I haven’t been to the St. Lawrence market since I was a kid, way back in the 80s and 90s. My sister and I would always go there on a Saturday and pick up fresh meats, fruits and veggies for the family, plus my sister would have the female bacon sandwich from carousel, and I would have the eggplant sandwich from the bender in the basement right next to the stairs. Wish I could go back but I live about an hour and a half N. west of Toronto and can’t imagine fighting the traffic to get there on a Saturday.
Oh those sound like some really great memories. Thanks for sharing❤
Surprised only there’s one so far by now. . I was there visiting Toronto last month for the first time, and the hotel was a block away from the place. It always had line stretching outside when I walked by.There’s like three within a 5 -10 radius by my house in Montgomery county, Maryland. The best burger (a non-meat) is the shroom burger…the vegetarian on
Oh thank you for the recommendation ❤ I'll have to check that option out. Also i hope you had a nice time visiting Toronto❤
Barrie’s rockin.
That $9 croissant was totally a scam, but so is $7 for an empanada! Also what kind of a place calls itself a fish and chips restaurant and serves you the tiniest piece of fish for $17.. If you want good fish and chips you've got to go to Olde Yorke, they're the best! Even Zets does it good and are known for their massive servings, where the piece of fish wouldn't even fit in the box that you were given at Gil's..
We have been dying to go to olde yorke, thanks for the reminder ❤ Any recommendations for what we should order?
@@TorontoOurCityDarcie It's been a while since ate there. Hali or cod & chips, New England Style Chowder and the fisherman's platter are great. For dessert, deep fried mars bars, apple crisp and the key lime pie seem to be popular. But when I go there next, I'm gonna try the sherry trifle.
Oh yes! I enjoyed your video, and I looooove peameal bacon sandwiches from Carousel Bakery at St. Lawrence Market. I loved the butter tarts from Carousel Bakery, too, and the pleasant flirtation.😊 I'm a weirdo in not liking mustard of any kind, so after buying my two peameal bacon sandwiches, I stopped by a little shop nearby to buy prunes. And THANK YOU for reminding us that Carousel Bakery is a cash-only establishment. I'll bring plenty of CAD paper currency on my next trip to St. Lawrence Market, as I plan to buy a lot of food from that bakery. Also, other businesses at St. Lawrence Market may accept cash-only, so it's a great idea to bring plenty of Canadian paper money, not only plastic🤑🤑👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I enjoyed vicariously eating my way through the market through your video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh thank you for sharing your go to orders ❤ Appreciate the view and comment. Vicariously eat through us any-day!
I've never been to St. Lawrence Market, but I wouldn't go in the future because everything is more expensive than I would get at other places!!!
Hi Daniel, If you ever get the chance, it's worth a walk through, even if you don't pick anything up it's a beautiful historic building and good for people watching ❤
@@TorontoOurCityDarcie Well in that case, I'm looking for a girlfriend so I might check it out!
The sandwich looks good.
Toronto has the most mid food.
Those prices are insane. The hype won’t last.
this place is right down the road from my spouse's parents house, we went there to vist and I walked down here to grab a couple slice's had no idea it was so popular or IT WAS SO FREAKIN GOOD
Does this channel have an email address to make contact?
hi there, you can reach out to our email [email protected]. Thanks!
Food looks amazing will have to visit!
i went there and had sushi in 2020. it was so nothing. this kind of development in toronto is common, and so, so sad. upscale junk served in fancy dungeons
Fancy dungeon lol ❤😂
Great recommendations!. Keep it up guys.
Will do! Thanks you so much!
loving your videos. keep em coming!
We appreciate it! Thanks for watching 😊
Awesome video
$8 for a slice of pizza. This place will go under.
Yup! All these vendors are selling fast food but they don’t want to charge fast food prices.
$13.50 for a döner? Toronto has gotten so ridiculously expensive.
It's slightly less in Vaughn.
It is wild how much everything is costing these days. It was amazing if thats any consolation.
so food courts are called food halls now...???????
Yeah so they can justify the higher prices. It kind of reminds me of “premium domestic” beer prices.
I'm sorry but Cops are not great value, but a complete ripoff. They are good but not worth the price they're charging. If you go to iconic donut shops like Lee's Donuts in Vancouver, its a dozen large size donuts for $25 which high value for a high quality product. But Cops and their tiny two bite donuts for such a high price just don't cut it! Another must try donut place in Toronto is Mr Puffs. They are not the traditional shape but boy they are delicious and succulent!!
Mr. Puffs? We will have check that out, thanks for the suggestion ❤
San Remo Bakery - You won’t be disappointed - 374 Royal York Road
Yes these have the best 🍩
We love watching you ❤. Interesting food choices. ❤ If you think about it. ❤
Fantastic coverage of the new food hall. I love the detail you put into the overall production as everything looks high quality. Keep up the good work!
Wow amazing looking Sandweeeches great value for great Quality
