Hi, in the miscellaneous field on the 275 when you have winds aloft set, where does the 275 receive the winds aloft info from? I definitely want that option on mine but I’m not sure I can use it.

It calculates the winds at your altitude based off the GPS track, the true airspeed, and the ground speed. It doesn't give you the actual winds aloft forecast from the weather service. It is a selectable miscellaneous field.

Can’t you just use the altimeter on the G275?
@lascrucesaviators6704 Жыл бұрын
The analog altimeter is also the altitude encoder for the transponder so I ended up having to replace it anyway. The GI-275 is considered the primary altimeter on the airplane but cannot act as an encoding altimeter.

How do you change the airspeed to MPH?
@lascrucesaviators67042 жыл бұрын
The airspeed units and also the range of the white arc, green arc, yellow arc and red line are all setup by the avionics shop that does the install. Per the STC the units on the airspeed indicators have to match the POH of the aircraft. You can adjust the units on the ground speed in the setup menu however.

Don't the GI-275's allow you to remove the Airspeed indicator and Altimeter as well?

@@lascrucesaviators6704 The other option is to have a separate encoder (TRANS-CAL ALTITUDE ENCODER MODEL SSD120-35C-RS232) and then you could get rid all the other old instruments: airspeed, altimeter, turn & bank and VSI. To do this additionally requires a test switch for failover.

If you turned down the brightness on the displays the camera would've exposed them better.

Are you able to put the localizer and glide slope indications on the attitude indicator?
@lascrucesaviators67043 жыл бұрын
Yes, If you look at about 10:45 the CDI is displayed on the bottom GI-275 when I put it into reversionary mode. If I had the Garmin 430 setup for a glideslope if would have also been displayed. You can also manually add the CDI on the attitude indicator if for some reason you didn't want to use the HSI.
