    This was very helpful as I have suffered from low stomach acid for years. I have taken the capsule - betaine hcl with pepsin and gentian bitters which has helped. But I've not been consistent with it as I had SIBO.

    I had severe Gastro, by the time I got to the hospital Detroit MI, I had to go on a feeding tube since it takes 5 to 6 weeks for insurance to ok G-Poem. I would not have made it. No nausea, no vomiting no restrictions since day one overnight stay, since day one. Have since returned to work. Life is great. God bless. I would like to tell you where i went for G-Poem ,but they will wipe my post.

    i struggle with atrial fibrillation , palpitations, high and low blood pressure after eating histamine rich foods. i have been on low histamine diet for over a year and know which foods to avoid but still having at least two episodes a month and finding i react to new foods each month. dieticians have said its histamine intolerance but my doctor needs a proper diagnosis for sick leave as i cant work. so i was sent to immunologist. She laughed at me and said there is no such thing, it was a word bandied about back in the 80s and said i had no allergies. I said i know i have no allergies, its an intolerance , but she just went on saying she would prove i have no allergies and that its a heart problem , i should be with a cardiologist not immunologist.

    How would you differentiate this kind of flare from a Lupus flare if you have both conditions?

  • @DrRichardHagmeyer

    Realy hard, lupus is known as the great imitator. I would recommend retesting thyroid levels, if they go up or down, that might be an important clue.

    Great video and actually all of them. I am a new fan. Doc, I am into functional medicine and Integrative health. I have been studying both for years. I am not a doctor. That being said, I wonder if you would agree with my self- diagnosis of the origins of my anemia due to exactly iron deficiency as well as low free T3, but optimal of T4 and TSH. Pretty much I don't have anything else wrong with me and I have tested myself for many different things including gut issues with sensitivities more than ones. The only thing I have is slight candida I am trying ti get rid of woth probiotics and estrogen dominance. Other than that, elevated cortisol in the evening that makes me tired but wired and metabolically higher LDL and total but I have refused a statin and was able to lower it with diet, though it is still elevated. Trigs and HDL, insulin, A1C, great. That being said, do you think heavy metals can be the culprit of my iron deficiency and elevated free T3? I have run blood test and it didn't show any poisoning but i did have elevated zinc proplrifrin that doctors couldn't figure out reasons of . I tested my hair tissue 3 times and showed very high levels of lead as well as zinc through the roof, which i understand competes with iron. I have been trying to get rid of this. My electrolytes are also messed up. I thought it would be interesting for me to ask since you didn't mention heavy metals. Thank you

  • @DrRichardHagmeyer

    Iron deficiency could be from Blood loss, (ulcer, menstruation, infection) gut malabsorption problems, not enough red meat in diet. Those are my top things to rule out

    Great video thanks! so if i understand this right then i need another type of DAO enzyme that digest the excess histamin in the brain since im suffering from severe insomnia. is that correct ? If so where can i get HNMT and MAOB enzyme that you mention in the video and is there a supplement that contain all 3 of them, DAO, HNMT and MAOB ? Or should i try DAO enzyme first that taget the histamin in the gut and see if that reduce my insomnia?

  • @DrRichardHagmeyer
    @DrRichardHagmeyer4 күн бұрын

    Nutrient cofactors for HNMT include lcopper, iron, B vitamins, vitamin C, SAMe, magnesium, manganese, cobalt, zinc, and molybdenum. These are all needed as cofactors to allow MAO-A and MAO-B DAO abd HNMTto work. I would also recommend following low Histamine diet for 3 months to see if symptoms improve, then work on all things “filling up the bucket!”

    Oh so much INFORMATION. Useful...yeah, if you synthesize it with other types of information that is then applied to a physiological homeostatic modeling of optimal functioning. What's easier? Get some homeostatic, i.e. balancing, cannabinoids into your cells. That is, smoke, eat or vape some cannabis, otherwise known as marijuana. Balances everything out...your hormones, histamine, neurotransmitters, etc.

  • @DrRichardHagmeyer
    @DrRichardHagmeyer4 күн бұрын

    The problem with that approach is that it’s a shotgun approach- cannabinoids influence everything and then depending on how it’s being delivered (smoked, eaten) I don’t ever recommend vape, gummies etc will influences how it hits brain- then we have The “type” Sativa, Indica, Hybrid which also has a completely different set and ratio of cannabinoids- cannabis is amazing but we don’t know much about it.

Thyroid barely visible on MRI. Synthroid increased , much better but still have “ those horrible flares”. General dr. Need to refer patients to specialists early on. Nurse practitioners have no business denying specialized care.

    I was Iron Deficient Anemic until I got a progesterone cream, but now I'm wondering if low progesterone also caused my hypothyroidism too. Not sure where to go from here. Because I needed to take progesterone to have my son and he's 18, so I don't know what's blocking my body from letting hormones into my cells. It's frustrating and a long story, so yeah... I'm tired of dealing with a confused body.

  • @DrRichardHagmeyer
    @DrRichardHagmeyer12 күн бұрын

    @@AmyKurylo the good news is low progesterone was not causing your hypothyroidism- quite the opposite- it was the imbalance between estrogen and progesterone. You were most likely estrogen dominant which does cause thyroid problems! Reach out to my clinic if you are ready for help.

  • @DrRichardHagmeyer
    @DrRichardHagmeyer12 күн бұрын

    @@florinafenes4571 bitters increase HCL and bile production which in turn aid in gastric emptying and increasing motility. A person with excess HCL production taking bitters may* effect motilin secretion. Many thing can influence motilin. Bitters also activate vagus nerve by + taste bud receptors. Very safe to take and highly recommend for people with low HCL. Have you ever used bitters?

    My pituitary gland was removed when I was 9 because of a golf ball size brain tumor. All my hormones are replaced with medication. And although I have GERD, IBS, and Gastroparesis I weigh over 300 lbs. My friends don't understand why I weigh so much because I simply don't eat enough to be normal. Then I throw up what I do eat with diarrhea. I think I have had gastroparesis my whole life. I usually go to ER about every 2 weeks for IV fluids because of chronic vomiting/diarrhea that won't stop. I barely can differentiate the difference between hunger and nausea most of the time. Do you have any advice? Also, can a pinched nerve cause damage to the vagal nerve?
