This is the DeVore Fidelity KZread channel. DeVore Fidelity is a high end audio speaker manufacturer. Our speakers are all hand made right here in Brooklyn New York. John DeVore will be posting video tours of the speaker factory, and tours of his office inside, called Monkeyhaus. Our factory cats will be here, as well as videos focusing on the vinyl LP collection, the audio gear used to evaluate product and just enjoy music. As time allows we'll put videos of the speaker building process as well as some tours of old prototypes.
We are eager to know what you would like to see, so let us know in the comments, or via email through our website: devorefidelity.com

She had NO tattoos until around 2012.
Man, I thought he was going to admit all of the snake oil in the "audiophile" industry. That said, good stuff nonetheless... ;) Thanks!
very much a late bloomer here. i come from live sound, recording studios and touring bands. i began my audiophile journey a few years ago. i didnt call myself anb audiophile at first because i just didnt know enough to be one. i would say, "im not an audiophile, but ..." i recall that audiophile is a term that some audiophiles dont wanna cop to. folks i spoke to would joke about it, but, as an aspiring audiophile and audiophile-curious person, i hadnt acquired the experience and understanding of hifi to fit the label. i know enough now, so i can call myself an audiophile now. some audiophiles are more gearheads than others. im a big gearhead. luv it. carried that over thru assembling, reassembling and upgrading a recording studio. being a long time record collector didnt hurt, neither.
You should send of those to Spencer Klein who works magic on Seiko's including brightening original lume. If you havnt seen his KZread channel I recommend checking him out.
I learned all this as a car stereo competitor back in the early 2000's and I never thought of our ohm wattage recipes entering a home audio environment, then I did some research as I got into HT and now two channel, and I stay in the 8-6 ohm arena, I have tried the 4 ohm and 2 ohm circuit in 2 chan but found it to be very pricey and very finicky and hot as hell in my room.
that comment you referenced at the beginning. jesus. i block all flat earthers and pretend-fanatics and raging-agro-weenies. i just cant stomach it. i dont have much patience for devon turnbill, but i like horns and tubes.
I was too young to understand it at the time. As an eight year old, I think its fair to say most young Black kids were listening to Sly and the Family Stone. The Jackson Five, and James Brown. Whats Going On just went way over my head. But I do remember it being popular at cookouts.
Just got my 70s pressing of this album on vinyl, outstanding. Great recording. Thanks for the heads up Sir!
I will own a pair of your speakers someday.
i am waiting for the same watch .Did it send to u by mistakes ! Great watch
Thank you,I have learned a lot! Greetings from Germany, Sören.
We require more knowledge. Please upload #3 in series.
Hey John - when I went to Audiophilia to watch the recorded version of this, the interviewee was not you - please help!
Starts a few seconds after 30 min: kzread.infof6O6b3m099Y?si=3peawsIhS-Lsmy31&t=1841
Thanks John, found it. Great interview! (No surprise!)
Anthony is a fantastic guy, and I’m sure the interview will be great. He’s just a kind individual. I look forward to hearing or reading it.
Some great systems there amazing
I’m enjoying these video’s, Thank. Indeed Fleishner Made a return album on the vanguard release (wonderful playing and recording). Do you plan on making a video with classical music (78rpm, vinyl mono or stereo) you used for you demo’s ? Would be great !
12:20 yes, it looks cool but please do yourself a favour and never stack albums like that ( horizontally) they will get warped by their own weight and gravity alone. (Also 11:50 I guess your not an Aphes Twin fan lol.)
You have seen that right AFX.That albums sounds amazing and very impressive on the O'Babys
Also surprised to see my system at 13:15 😎. Living in the Netherlands, O/96's delivered bij Audio Life. Both LP12 plinths are from 1987. During the years the LP12 has almost all upgrades and together with the SET 300B, at the picture this with WE300B and Takatsuki 274B, the O/96 are really singing. It is nice to see so many systems in so many different rooms. One common goal, enjoying music and the lovely Devore speakers. Thanks for the updates John!
Dutch well presented in this episode. 🇳🇱
Wow, surprised to see my own room at 11:46.🤩. Thanks! The tube amp is a Unison Researsch S6 MK2, with NOS tubes. On the rights is the Druqks album of aphex twin and all the way to the left is a record of Matt Corby called Telluric, it’s a great album! If anyone has any questions, let me know. And great to see all the other lovely rooms.
Great to again see customer systems. The guy with the Krell reference amplifiers is definitely committing audio overkill.
Cool-) congratulations 🎉
Love the photos of people showing their style and the dedication they put into the space where they listen. The aesthetic and decor are critical to a wonderful listening experience.
Yes, careful thought & positioning 😮
The problem with photographs of audiophile sound systems is that they tell you nothing about how they sound. I know many audiophiles place great importance on how they look. Personally my only interest is how they sound because that is their function.
Videos help somewhat 😮
@@CarlVanDoren61 How?
Looks are so much more important than sound. If they looked really crappy no one would buy the stuff.
@iampuzzleman282 IMO practically everything on the high end market today ranges from plain and drab to downright goofy. Being an engineer I had to invent my own. It wouldn't win any prizes for appearance but I was only interested in sound. However, IMO much vintage equipment was much more pleasing to look at and had far more functional features than their current counterparts.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Please don't inject any bleach.
I like that "round" sound that a fluglehorn has, Clark Terry played it best IMO
Art Farmer and Dizzy Gillespie also switched from trumpet to flugelhorn
🤯💥🌋Giant Steps-so true
Caught covid, cough & cough 😮
New preamp? Komuro?
I bet that’s a great Album
Those late 70s Savoy issues are spectacular. Also don’t sleep on the Verve Polygram series released from 78-83. Double albums with illustration covers. Most mastered by Robert Ludwig. Ella Fitzgerald , Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Dizzy, Billie Holiday and many more.
My eyes hurt trying to focus for the camera
I guess I don't run in high enough circles to ever come across gray market audio or even black market for that matter. Bank in the day I hung out with a fair number of musicians in my town and there was a thriving market for grey and black market instruments and amps. I had someone try to sell me a $2000 bass for $125. I don't know how to play bass or might have taken him up.
Lol, so you guys move all your over priced stuff amongst your self.......... now I know how all you guys are in bed together...........a main reason for audiofoolery. Just a bunch of used car salesman
Living that good life
What a journey interesting insights into vinyl and vinyl sound thanks John!
Not sure about that lots of competition….
I'm still surprised that if I walk past a venue where music is being played, like a bar, then it's always possible to tell whether the music is live or being produced by a speaker system. Still a very long way to go, I suggest.
You are deep .Some people would never understand.
Everything he said has been major set backs to Millennials those 3 events....... really 4, but them did a number on us financially....... that and Boomers still gate keeping.
It reminds me of the Coen Brothers films 🎥
I was just watching the local Philly news and they did a story about renaming the home of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, The Marian Anderson Center. A great tribute to a great Philly icon. By the way, if anyone is in the Philly area you can visit her grave in nearby Colindale.
I find it weird the ATM-2 with KT88’s is only 12 watts?
Wonderful music! Thank you.
Growing up, Marian Anderson was just regular fare and we realized she was, yes, marginalized because of her skin colour. As a kid who was just navigating the meaning of racism, she was a beacon on the path of understanding.
What amp is driving those Xs?
Currently using the Audio Research VT130SE
@@DeVOREFIDELITY thank you for response. I am getting sublime results using Accuphase amplification with Xs in my room. Somehow I cannot get tube equipment to work to my liking and I tried TONS of different tube amps…. :(
Marian Anderson’s vocal range and richness of tone seem similar to the amazing voice of Beyonce on Cowboy Carter. I have been awoken to this musicians talent for the first time and of course there are progenitors and the sublime Marian Anderson is one I assume. Thanks John.
Lovely niche-thank you for this. Unbelievable to me that stores like Academy Records are selling amazing vinyl of albums like this in the $4 range and CDs for 99 cents.
Yep!
Thank you John for the introduction to this talented artist. It's very saddening to hear that she was not given the opportunities she obviously deserved. Out of interest, is there a reason why you tend to use your Garrard in your videos rather than your SP10?
My 401 is just running much better these days. the Technics needs some more attention if it's going to be able to stand up to the Garrard, and I've been too busy to get on it.
Anyone still into "HiFi" has no idea what they are talking about. I've spent the last 20 years going around painstakingly collecting old DNA samples from not only the jazz greats but all musical savants. For now they are stored inside of Barbasol cans but, using AI and frog DNA I have started to create tiny clone musicians. You want Zeppelin? I have a tiny Jimmy Page and Robbert Plant that I can make sing for me whenever I like and they are no bigger than a flip flop. The future is NOW, HiFi is DEAD!
Thank you John, very interesting.
