Hope OERM takes good care of it. Some of their cars are really rotting away and seems like nothing gets restored.
What the city bus companies won't tell you is that you will be picking up all the crazy, stinky, homeless, drugged up, people mad at you, kids screaming their heads off, people using their cellphones too loud, and people complaining about you and your driving on the customer complaint number all the time. What they dont tell you is that if you're late you will get a write up and all of the time its not your fault. Unplanned events like construction, traffic, accidents, people getting hurt in or outside of your bus, people vommitting, peeing or pooping in your bus. Depending on the area, you can get robbed beaten or shot. The bus company know these dangerous areas but they keep pushing more drivers on these routes. You will quickly learn that you are not a person you are just a number. Depending what company you work for, you may be required to work 6 or 7 days a week. Low pay, shifts drag out the life out of you. This isn't a career, its a prison sentence.
It takes a special kind of person to do this job, and still enjoys coming to work in spite of the above comments. Alot of what you mentioned should not be happening, but sadly it does happen when it happens.
@@Mr.Coffee20255 On the bright side of things, the same written exam applies to Class A so instead of limiting yourself to Class B, take class A and you will make a hell of a lot more money as a Class A driver even if you're working locally. Furthermore, you can listen to music while you drive.

Driving is already high risk. We all know theres bad apples in society out in public. So… General population + 40 ft + Society = sky high risk The pay better be as good as say a newbie EMT ? 27-30 hour ? Now EMT might be better because you have easier access to 911 services IDK its a good gig but def not for everyone
I looked at EMT. If you're working for an independent, you're looking at minimum wage with little room for raises. The risks are probably the same or higher depending what service area you're working in. Better pay but requires more school is becoming a paramedic for the fire department if you want to go that route.
If only light rails should be underground or elevated.

TriMet is it possible for me to get a bell and a top light from a type 1 MAX train because you’re retiring them. I have fond memories of riding type ones with my grandparents as a kid. If you reply to this comment, I will send you a letter. I have written all of the Mac strains type one through five, and the type ones look the best. It would mean the world to me if you could send me a bell and a top light.

TRIMET just doesn't get it: There are so many problems on the platforms along the entire MAX train Blue line, which is the line I ride from time to time. People are smoking cigarettes, pot, exchanging money for drugs, which I'm guessing that Trimet Security just doesn't see. There is a total lack of concern for riders smoking on the trains. There are emergency buttons to push on each train, yes, but there is no concern for the safety of the rider(s) reporting these problems/crimes. I have medical problems stemming from breathing in these toxic fumes. Trimet offers no resolution or a way to fix these problems which are affecting the Trimet platforms/stations where individuals/people wait to get on a bus or a train. I have seen security personnel be a part of this problem as well. To take pics with my ph camera of these violations, doesn't do any good. My complaints do NOT go anywhere, especially when I see Trimet Security smoking on or near a platform/bus stop/MAX train station platform as well. What is wrong with this picture? If I try and take a photo, I risk being attacked by a perpetrator or worse yet, being told, I NEED TO GET UP WITH MY FOUR-WHEELED WALKER, IN TOW, & FIND ANOTHER SEAT!! Really??? This is how your tax dollars are spent, people. Problems = No solutions, offering NO way to solve these problems. This is just the tip of the ginormous iceberg! Good grief. It's gotten so bad, that I'm afraid to take the MAX train anywhere, & I now have to pay double the amount of Trimet fare, because I'm disabled & being discriminated against by other passengers who won't give me a seat to sit down because I use a 4-wheeled walker! Then I have to endure secondhand smoke of all kinds, to the point that I almost never take mass transit anywhere anymore: I'm left with having to pay DOUBLE THE FARE, because I take Trimet Lift now, wherever I need to go. Yeah, great meeting: NOT. Very disappointed!

Even if you "know it all" still be humble enough to suck up more transportation game, and safe driving.
The most important is the pre and post trip. Watch your mirrors, rock and roll, take your time and don't rush. You're new and the being late will happen. You will learn how to be on time eventually.
Reminds me of the time I drove a bus from Sacramento to Los Angeles, it was my regular run. As we were leaving one morning a guy got on and said he need to go to Hollywood. I told him you're on the right bus we're going to Los Angeles, and took off, he started screaming NO I'm going to Hollywood, before I could explain to him, that Hollywood was just an area in Los Angeles. He jumped off the bus when I was doing 10 miles an hour, rolled around on the concrete. I stopped to see if he was all right and he just gave me the finger. I didn't think any more about it, until the next day. I was on my regular run from Sacramento to LA again, when I see this guy with a bandage head hitchhiking, holding up a sign that says Hollywood or bust. I'll say this he must have busted his head when he fell. And I always wondered if he got a ride with anybody did they tell him they are going to Los Angeles. If so he might have jumped out. This happened in April 1976 but I remember it like yesterday
