  We have these in our apartments for all 3 bedrooms and the bathroom but all they have to do is shake the heck out of the door and it ends up coming unlocked

  Hi there, we have taken this feedback seriously. And actually the updated version of the GlideLok (which will start to be sold over the next couple of months) has a notch so make it much harder to shake the lock loose!

  Hi there, at about the 0:39 mark in this installation video, it shows the GlideLok sliding across from both sides of the door. The GlideLok overhangs both sides of the door like a saddle, so you can reach it from either side and just slide across to lock/unlock.   Would this work for a front door that opens out instead of in? The hinges are inside the house.

  Hi there, this should be fine. You will always install the GlideLok U-shaped piece and screw / peg on the side of the door that does NOT have the hinges. The GlideLok can still operate from both sides, because it overhangs both sides of the door like a saddle. So even if you have to install it on the outside of the house, you can still operate it from the inside. Hope that helps!

  The rubber bumper part is perfect. I do feel like the peg should be maybe an inch longer. I feel like my child might kick the door so much it’ll wobble out of place, but hopefully the bumpers might help with that

  Yes, an adult can open the GlideLok from BOTH sides of the door, because it overhangs both sides like a saddle.

  No, it does not matter and will function either way. What matters most is placing the U-shaped piece on the proper side (the side without the hinges).

  Yes, they can. The biggest factor is the thickness of your doors. The GlideLok fits doors that are up to 1-3/8" inch thick. Or, if you remove the GlideLok spacer bar with a #1 drill bit, it will fit doors up to 1-13/16" thick.

  It's against fire code, same reason you can't install a bedroom door that requires a key to open from the inside. You won't get checked unless you have a building inspector come or you get in trouble with CPS.

  Can be opened from both sides of the door, just gotta be tall enough to reach it. Not sure if that changes whether or not it passes fire code tho.

  If you look close you can see the cutouts so you can hide your sink and also have more counter space.

  @@digitaldali ahh that's what I thought don't think I've ever seen one that is the actual countertop material with handles cut out. Usually it's some plastic or wooden thing that sits over it. fancy.

  Worked perfectly to keep my cat out of the room since the doors I have don't actually function well, less than 2 mins to install, very happy with the product, easy instructions, will be buying a few more!

  Hi Joy, the GlideLok actually DOES work for most entry doors that open to the interior. The screw and sleeve would be installed on the outside of the door, but remember that the GlideLok can be accessed from BOTH sides so you can slide it across regardless of which side of the door you are on. One of the biggest benefits of the GlideLok is it can be accessed from both sides of the door by an adult.

  Hi there, if your child is big enough to move a chair over to the door and reach the GlideLok while standing on the chair, then they are probably not the right age range for the GlideLok. I had the GlideLok installed in my personal home and they worked wonderfully for my 4 year old. Good luck finding the best lock for your family! - Jessica
