What marker did you use to colour in the stones got one in my shopping cart to order and want to paint the stones one to match the original and to make it match with a replica 1905 gown once owned sadly not by the russian family but by the norwegian royals

@hannahmair1687 hello. The pen I used was a permanent marker from STABILO bought in a set of 12 to give me the very light blue shade needed. Because the stones are very large, I coloured the back of the stone's, not the front. Once dried if not dark enough you can apply a second time. Cheers...Chris

Charles II immediately became monarch at the moment of his mother's death on 8 September 2022 - not at the moment of crowning. "The Queen is dead. Long live the King." The St Edward's Crown merely 'seals the deal'.

A terrible job was done with King Charles State crown 👑 . It was not raised to the standard height for male sovereigns as it was previously done for his Granddad n Great grandfather's reign. Infact it looked squished and feminine

As a millinery, it was no surprise the imperial crown was adjusted for the Queen’s delicate head, temples, and neck. The queen adored the imperial crown but voiced her discontent with it. Constantly lifting documents to eye level to keep the crown from slipping was inconvenient. Given the considerable weight and the strain on her temples and neck, it was only reasonable to make adjustments for her comfort. They had to open the crown to fit King Charles’ head. Charles's decision to keep the crown’s height perhaps sentimental.

The imposition of St Edward's Crown doesn't make a king 'king'; the demise of the Crown does. The crowning merely makes the monarch a crowned king or queen.

In the olden days of medieval violence, that's how it worked. A person could be proclaimed king or queen by an army and people, but the reign did not truly have legitimacy until the crown was placed on their head. This is why Stephen was numbered as King of England while Matilda was not, despite her being the natural heir.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! As a lifetime American Anglophile as well as a gemologist, I was absolutely gobsmacked to see this BBC film that's seemingly unavailable here in the states. I probably paused your video over 50 times just to gloat at these never before seen images of St. Edward's Crown and the Imperial State Crown. To finally see the intricate mounting of Cullinan II, particularly the back, was just astounding. My only concern: Where is the remaining footage? The video ends rather suddenly, leaving the viewer quite anxious because there's certainly more to this BBC report. Does anyone out there in KZread Land known where one can view the entire program? Regardless, thanks again for this rare and, to my knowledge, unprecedented access to some of the world's most historic pieces of jewelry and regalia.

@@DukeofSavannah Many thanks, Your Grace. Yes, with your feedback we eventually located the complete version of the nearly one hour BBC program concerning the year leading up to His Majesty's coronation. Once reviewed it was immediately apparent that "chriscarr49" simply edited his video to include only the scenes regarding the Crown Jewels, and this is perfectly acceptable because that is what the title suggests.
