I get snagged a lot on the rocks there and if you don't have help it can get tricky. High tide gets pretty wild like your on an island but that's one of the consistent holes that never gets washed away.

yes stradic 5000 yes. I like it for the surf. I tried the rod in the bay I feel like its to strong for striper there. But its nice. Its a little soft you have to try it and see if you like it.

Very nice catches. Switching spots looked more like locations. In years ago would that jig have been called a hair raiser? You catch many stripers on so many different lures. Do you think the lure really matters? If you just get in front of a striper.

lures do not matter for my opinion as long lures can attract the fish and that’s why we have ton kinks of lures on the market, but again depending on surf conditions so we choose the right lure to reach to the fish and attract them to strike

Alot of times I believe the striper will hit many lures. If you can get it infront of them and as long as it has some action. However, I switch it up when the fish are further out I will use metal like a kastmaster. and then when they are close in I'll just a swimbait or jerkbait.

Depending what part youll be in. But striper right now have been in ocean beach down to half moon bay. and then if youre closer to santa cruz from Rio del mar down to monterey. Ive been going back and forth. They hit both sides. Just getting tougher lately. Hoping august will be a good month.

The fish have been moving really quick so I'm not sure exactly where would be good when you come. But you are closer to Monterey side. So you might want to try beaches around there. But Id recommend checking out San Luis Reservior and the forebay. I'm not 100% sure but I heard they striper were boiling there the other day. Early morning or evening.

Umm depends. I switch from swimbaits to jerkbaits to metals alot. Metals are good with the fish are out far like a kastmaster. Jerkbaits and swimbaits usually I use when the fish are in closer.

I think maybe when the fish was flipping around spikes might have weakened my line. Or it could've got weak for before my last trip. But I felt it before I fished no marks. Well today wasn't too rough, so it was too tough to work the top water. Rough surf can get tough.

I use bait sometimes. Here I use kastmaster swimbaits and jerkbait. The striper will bite them all. Kastmaster for distance if the fish are out far and cover more water, swimbaits seem to usually always work and the jerkbaits are fun and sometimes I feel like the get bigger fish.
