Hi Becky, I’m so glad that this book came out as sewing for children is something I want to do much more of but I have found so far from big 4 patterns that the sizing is way out. I know that people want their makes to have some growth room but I’ve made PJs for my grandson and they were massive on him, and he’s not small but the legs were inches too long. How do you find Tilly’s book for sizing? Do you have any other sizing tips? It’s disappointing when you can’t even get a pic of them wearing what you have made. I really would love a tips for sewing clothes for small children as it is so daunting for something so small 😕. Thank you for covering these patterns, please share anything else you make from it as it really does make a difference. X
Thank you :) I've found the sizing in the mini makes book to be good so far but I have only tried the t shirt so far. I really like the puperita sewing patterns for kids too, they are pdf patterns. They have lots of choice of designs and the sizing is good too. I will try to keep sharing the things I make for my children too x

Do you have any advice on finding time to sew during maternity leave?
I try and fit in sewing in nap times, in between making dinner or in the evening depending when my children are asleep or my husband is around. In the past I’ve got up earlier too to sew a project I really wanted to do before everyone else is awake but that doesn’t happen at the moment as I’m up in the night 🙈☺️

It’s made from a viscose jersey it’s got a nice amount of drape to it xx

Hi, lovely to see your new space, do you have a blind you can pull down so people can’t see your machines and camera equipment? I want to make a Marnie blouse, love your material. I also want to make a few T-shirts as the weather is getting warmer. Have been making a Hathor vest for what seems like a while and now fear it will be too warm to wear as I used boiled wool and lined with a Rose and Hubble fabric. I guess if the nights get chilly it may come in handy but want to be more mindful in future of what I need 😊

Hi Becky, when you first showed us that gorgeous pink Dashwood Studio fabric, I thought that it would look gorgeous in a Marnie because of the structure and the patterns on it would show the pleating so well. Love the Sinclair Skater dress. Especially like using a contrast fabric for the waistband and neckband.
That’s a good idea using different fabrics 🧵💖 I will keep that in mind for a future version of the dress 👗 x
Lovely sewing room Becky ❤. I have made a couple of Marnie’s and I hacked my second one a lot! I lengthened the sleeves and reduced the main sleeve quite a lot. I also changed the centre panels (F & B) to the smallest size. I also didn’t gather in the front centre for about 4cm as I don’t like the gathering falling between my bust! I am thrilled with the result as it feels more comfortable for me and my style. I hope you enjoy making yours. Thanks for sharing x 😊

It's going to be wonderful for you to have a crafting room where the door can be closed part way through a project so tiny hands don't get into it. So much easier to steal away for a few minutes with a dedicated space. My sewing room doubles as a guest room but thankfully we don't need it for overnighter too often 😉

The jacket looks super on you and the buttons will be the icing on the cake. I was looking at that skirt pattern but haven't got it yet. I have quite a few Love Notions patterns and find them to be great staples. Most of their patterns have plenty of options. The sale on at the moment makes them a great value. I am in the midst of making the Juliet top and a self drafted long rib knit T-shirt dress. Putting together a travel capsule wardrobe that will also include the Ballad Blouse and the Lenox.

The quilted sonny jacket looks fantastic. I've made two. My latest project is making the pattern in a cotton lawn...it has made up i to a lovely shirt.
