  BLUE CHEER the inventers of HEAVY METAL and I met Dickie a couple of times and hell of a nice. Sat at the bar at Coconut Teaszers in Hollywood and bought him a drink and we talked for about half an hour and he was a nice as can be. I told him how he changed my musical style when I first saw them in Hawaiid. Stopped holding my bass to far up on my chest. Saved up and bought to Fender Bassmen amp as Marshalls could not be found in Hawaii ANYWHERE. I eventually own four very rare Mashall bass speaker. Further when they played Hawaii, they actually had a bigger audience than Led Zepelin at their first appearance in Hawaii at the same venue. A small boxing arena.

  Saw them in 69 and the UFO club in London, they were brilliant , The storm was better than the record and Arthur Brown got up to sing with them. Great gig.
