HeadRace

Hi All! Thanks for having a look at what this is all about. I'm an obsessive about motorcycles, particularly 70's, 80's & 90's machines. I've over 30 years experience in working on them, riding them and of course the ownership experience of them. On this channel you'll find items such as videos from the rides, workshop time and other general musings of questionable interest. One of my 'bikes was featured in Practical Sportsbikes Magazine as a full feature as many of you may recognise. I'll also show ongoing projects for those that wish to follow.

Cheers All!!

  • @headrace4863
    @headrace48632 ай бұрын

    Quite normal for most Kawasaki, they’re over cooled in road trim. You’ll find the fan kicks in about 1/3 the way up the gauge. When they’re raced they don’t run a cooling fan or thermostats so can get a bit warmer. They’ll boil over around 2/3 up the guage unless you run waterless coolant.

    Ooooh good question. Not quite that simple unfortunately. In the context of road based touring, the chassis of the vfr and definately the engine were “better” for me. Off road, I have no idea as that’s not something I’d normally do. I’m sure the ATAS would be in a different league to the vfr, however. The equipment levels and engine management are vastly superior on the ATAS, for sure. I like it for different reasons to the vfr, I wouldn’t say I think it’s better… sorry that’s probably not much help at all as it. Apologies.

    Is it AT bigger bike than CT? I Am specially curious about the height of those 2 bikes.

    AT is taller, but has 2-way adjustable seat, which is a fair bit more narrow. AT is taller at the front as well. 👍

    @@headrace4863 I am little bit over 6'3 and I know that AT is good height for me. What do you think will CT be a bit to small for me?

    @@Leon777KS I’m 6’1” and it was absolutely perfect for me. At that height I couldn’t see any issues you’d have. The ‘bars can be adjusted anyway, and there’s a range of seats etc available to tailor to your needs. See if you can get a test ride maybe?

    @@headrace4863 Thank you very much for information. I am on the fence between those 2 bikes, ergonomically AT is perfect as it is for me but I'd prefer CT . VFR as you already mentioned is the old school bike when the engineers constructed vehicles not accountants like nowadays . Drive save Brother.

    @@Leon777KS My brother is 6'5, he originally wanted the 2005-2008 BMW R1200 GSA, which is the tallest bike ever made but since those are all beat up in the used market, he then wanted the BMW R 1250 GSA but for him, Africa Twin Adventure Sports and KTM 1290 Adventure R were much better fitted bikes, because they are the tallest bikes in the market out of all the new bikes... As for seat height, they are all very comfortable for anyone who is 6ft and taller.
