When Jason Gardner demonstrated his MH-1 Dual Vision Night Vision to me a month ago, it changed my perspective on what to expect from NV. They are lighter, brighter, and sharper than any of my older sets. Jason will treat you right, and backs what he makes 100%. If you are a professional LE or Military - I would strongly consider the MH-1.

But the most important question is, which grade of NNVT tube is this though? NNVT-4? NNVT-5? NNVT-7? Because that makes a difference in the price/quality consideration. The prices of the higher grade NNVT tubes isn't competitive with Photonis.

I got some nnvt 2+ fully expecting they'd suck compared to my friends high spec L3s. I didn't want NVGs bad enough to justify something nice but they kept peer pressuring me so I got these. Putting them side by side, are the L3s better? Absolutely. Was there anything I could see or do with the L3s that I couldn't with the nnvt? Nope. Law of diminishing returns hits pretty hard for night vision imo. There's a point where you're paying more than double the money for maybe a 10% improvement in performance at best if even that much. A good spec Photonis or maybe Elbit during a sale is probably the sweet spot for bang for the buck. After seeing them first hand, it would be hard for me to agree with anyone saying high spec L3s are worth the premium for 99.9% of end users.

I have a couple 7's for loaners I have myself a gen3 green phos pvs14 and will be placing an order in the next two weeks for a new 14 I can't decide between jerry 31's or a l3 unfilmed white phos 14 or possibly supergain should I just go nnvt ?

I personally wouldn't call NNVT gen2"+", it's just gen2 to me. They're pretty good nonetheless. They're a great entry to the hobby!

I've had an NNVT, but if my eyes couldn't see anything, neither did the NNVT. I'm using an Echo++ right now, which is a lot better but also a lot more expensive. The only thing that the NNVT did for me was give me more detail. When it got so dark that I needed help seeing the noise was getting pretty bad on the NNVT. I had one with 24 SNR, which is pretty average for NNVT.

I've had NNVT and I currently have Photonis Echo. Echo beats the NNVT in every way. Photonis also has the best autogating on the market, period.

@@Mr_Glenn You have ECHO+ (4G)! That's NVT-7 performance. 4G technology is the newest stuff possible. With ultra fast auto-gating, smallest Halo, IR/UV spectrum of 350nm - 1100nm and all the nice stuff. But NVT-5 has actually better low light performance than standard Echo tubes. Standard Echo tubes are very shitty and have often times just 7-8k gain. NVT-5 has up to 20k gain. But normally 11k - 12k. NVT-5 / Photonis XR-5 is missing every modern feature of 4G. You had NVT-4 before. That's Photonis XD-4. Unbelievable shitty and not even worth the money if you're on a small budget. Extremely grainy and bad low light performance. That's the reason why NVT-5 is nice. You have Photonis echo low light performance but you doesn't have all the good features of Photonis ECHO. That's the price you pay for going budget. Your PVS-14 is top shelf night vision tech. The best you can get. Only difference between ECHO+ and 4G is, the 4G can operate 7 days under conditions like -40° Celsius. ECHO+ can only operate for 3 days. "only". Your tube is fallout 4G tube. You can't beat that performance.

That's the reason why NVT-5 is nice. You have Photonis echo low light performance but you doesn't have all the good features of Photonis ECHO. That's the price you pay for going budget. Your PVS-14 is top shelf night vision tech. The best you can get. Only difference between ECHO+ and 4G is, the 4G can operate 7 days under conditions like -40° Celsius. ECHO+ can only operate for 3 days. "only". Your tube is fallout 4G tube. You can't beat that performance.

No problem at all On target I hit steel from 25 yards and 200 yards easily. The reason the height is due to being set for night vision
