Bungie has the most contrived writing ever. As bad as marvel. Oooo witness reshaping earth? Nah, just kidding. The witness can kill entire squadrons with a literal motion of its hand, ghosts included, but nah it forgot it could do that. I also love how everyone can run away from the witness when it goes into full pissed off smoke and reality warping and one dies. How convenient. I guess it can't put a barrier on the door so they can't run away. Like is the only mechanic bungie uses anymore. The helm magically is able to enter even though "witness barred off the portal" after we got in. If I wrote this there would be no contrived bullshit. You don't literlly run away from a being of pure darkness, can teleport, shift realities, etc. Only happens if you have plot armor and villian gets a lobotomy. The entire vanguard in one area? If I was the witness, the entire area would be remade in a moment. No doors. No running. A wave of its hand and the ground breaks apart into the different material cubes, it moves its hands apart and each cube becomes a thousand miles apart. Each vanguard isolated, in complete darkness. The darkness envelops them, penetrating every single atom of their being. Icora and Zavalla scream out in unimaginable agony. It squeezes tighter and tighter, the screams echo out like Shockwaves. Blood and darkness seep from their eyes, their ears, their fingertips. "You desire a universe made from pain. Then live in it!" With a clap of its hands, they're gone. It turns its gaze back to the helm. Our guardians helmet broken on the ground, we stare back. Quite literally made that up on the spot in about 1min. Give me months to years to plan out the story and really get into the characters ideologies and shit and I could give you some truly compelling stories. I enjoy grey areas. Good vs evil is boring. Nuance is fun. And that's what destiny lacks. Nuance and depth, and a serious tone. Ghost also is nieve beyond belief. We've killed how many gods and it still acts like a 4yr old child juat learning about the world. Pretty pathetic. Truly the writers at bungie are terrible.

Can people stop saying it was perfect it wasnt even close, witness fight was mid had two levels and yes raids good but wtf was that campaign it was awful. Witness just dies into the void and thats it big nad goes out with a whimper not a bang. No cutscenes to reveal the relationship between witness race and traveler and how things got bad. Had all our memories and none of the witness memories. Vanguard didnt get to say goodbye to cayde, this was far from perfect and felt rushed to fuck
This comment is making me irrationally angry, so I'm going to go point by point and tell you why I think you're wrong. 1. Witness fight was mid and the campaign was awful. The campaign's story was one of the best since forsaken, and it wrapped up some of the most important questions regarding the darkness and the witness. Honestly TFS needs to be studied for how well it stuck the landing. 2. Witness dies in the void, goes out with a whimper. The witness did go out with a bang, just not a flashy one. When the witness dies, it dies in confusion, failing to understand how anyone could not see how the final shape was a good thing. The Witness's death also comes with a price, in Ghost/Cayde. I'm conflicted on this personally. On one hand, I don't like that Ghost comes back, but D2 is live service and the show must go on, and leaving Cayde alive doesn't really have a payoff. As far as character revivals go, Ghost is about the best it gets. 3. No cutscene to reveal the relationship between the witness's race and traveler. This is entirely unneeded. We already know all we need to know about the witness's race and their hate of the traveler. The traveler blessed the witness race with the light and left them confused about their purpose. The Witness race combined into the Witness and went off to create purpose for the entire universe, which must be searching for the same purpose as it. 4. Had all our memories and none of the witness memories. I have no clue what this means. 5. Vanguard didn't get to say goodbye to Cayde. Looks like someone didn't listen to the radio after the mission. He literally states that he was never good at saying goodbye, and it ties into the fact that Cayde being back is opening old wounds that have already healed. Bungie deserves flak for a shit ton of stuff, like all of Lightfall and the mass layoffs, but the final shape has cleanly wrapped up 10 years of narrative without fumbling at the finish line. That, at least, deserves to be commended.

He may not have fully died, more like get split up. It would be a huge waste if they killed the witness off fully instead of just splitting them up, since we can meet members of that alien race in the future.

Prismatic could easily be used in Mayham for more MAAAAYHAM. Also you said something about Prismatic being the first time we cast a super in first person but I'd like to point out that this isn't the case. The Subclass itself doesn't have a Super unique to the Subclass. You basically use a Super from another Subclass but Prismatic gives you a unique grenade.
