Julia was an irresponsible person, she cheated on John's father, gave up an out-of-wedlock child for adoption, was turned in to the authorities by Mimi for child neglect, and gave up John on top of that. She is always portrayed as wonderful, and John showed hatred for his father, but his father always sent money to Julia for John when he was at sea during WW2, seeming to never understand Julia was derelict as a caregiver, i.e. making light of the boys' truancy. Keep it real, this was a tragic story.

Paul got too selfish around the time and he was running his songs with a fist of iron not good for relationships. He was believing the hype, where it grew from comparisons to Schubert; both Lennon and Mac were likened to Schubert. It destroyed the old relationship dynamic when George was THE GUITARIST. Paul was busy being Paul and John busy being John at the expense of the other Beatles. At the final years, George and Ringo both quit (at separate times, George during Let it Be and Ringo during the White Album) and had to be asked to come back esp. Ringo.

Same thing happened while Olivia Harrison was putting an old clock George had bought on the mantle. Paul called her to ask if it was okay to work on the song written by John that he, Ringo, and George had started working on in 1994. As she was looking at the clock Paul told her the song was called 'Now and Then', and the clock had the words 'Now' and 'Then' written on it.

The fact is, his mother was an irresponsible tramp. She gave up custody of her son rather than have her lifestyle infringed upon. Mimi and Uncle George were the best thing that could possibly have happened to him and he turned out to be petulant and ungrateful. Even the song he wrote for his mother was rededicated to that (w)hore Yoko. So much for his undying love for his mother, eh?

One this is certain, neither Paul or Carl knew John had recorded a demo tape called “now and then” prior to his death, and Carl wrote this just a few months after Lennon died. Yoko didn’t give the demo tape of “now and then” to the Beatles until 1994 or so.

That was no coincidence, him singing that song to Paul with those lyrics at the end. People can think otherwise, and thats their right, but that was John, dropping off a message to his mate that everything is ok. Personally, I've witnessed myself on spiritboxes, and old friends who had just passed tell me how much they missed me and our other friends. Reading about it and actually experiencing something like that changes your worldview. There is so much more going on around us than we could ever imagine.

The way Paul looks at him is incredible. Like he's in awe (to be fair, we all should be). How did Paul react to John telling him that? Did he think it was odd? Like "where are you going"? Did John know? It's all just eerie, in a beautiful way.

@@allenf.5907 Really? I thought the reason was that John’s biological father ran off, and Julia didn’t feel capable of raising a child by herself. Mimi had a husband living at home, although he died a few years before Julia died, which also upset John. John did have at least one half-sibling, but that is because Julia later remarried.
