    I own two ravine. 2020 152 cm and 2023 152 cm. The original shape only lasted two years (2018/2019 and 2019/2020). They are very different beast, same concept, different execution. The height of the camber profile on the new ones is much higher ( almost 3/8) compared to the old one (1/8). The curves on the nose contact point is much more smooth on the 2020 making for a smooth turn initiation. I dont like the new 3D nose diamond, the old one use a spoon shape instead, again, making for a smooth ride. The 2021 and up use carbon rod instead of bamboo. Carbon gives more energy, while bamboo feels, again, smooth. 2020 = smooth, predictable, a joy to ride, snazzy. 2023 = agressive, precise, but, a bit lifeless. So, I’m always on the look out to find another 2019 or 2020, thats the ravine I love, not the new ones.

    Anyone tried this board who is on the smaller side? I'm 5'8 size 8 shoe. I recently tried a Yes basic uninc and I found it amazing. Moving from my beginner board a solamon sight. I'm considering the Yes board but I'm not a fan of the graphic so I'm curious if this board is similar to the Basic uninc so I could get this as an alternative. All I ever read is tall people with clown feet saying its good haha. Would be good for average persons thoughts on if its suitable? Thanks.

    Hi there, really great reviews! Subscribed after the first review I saw... Is the camber feeling of the Standard Uninc comparable with the Warca's? Rode the Warce in 150 couple of times and found it super forgiving and comfortable. I'm 5,9, 155lbs, 265 mondo boots and prefered stance width 21.5-22". Had no problems to get the Warca on edge for quick and short turns. Would the Standard in 153 be ok for my specs? Or should I look for a board with less width underfoot and a reference stance closer to mine?

    Regarding that easy roll edge to edge, I am wondering if he added a couple degrees of bevel to the base of the Egg as well. I believe my old Goldfish had that bevel in the nose. Smooth board switching edge to edge.

    I've ridden this for a few seasons now and it is hands down my favorite board yet. I had come off of the Rome National, which they discontinued and I'm so glad I went with the Ravine Select. I was looking to purchase the National in a larger size because I loved that board, but since it wasn't in the line-up anymore I went with this. I was worried that it would be less fun in a freestyle way, but I was wrong. I'm an older (53) rider and do my best to "skate" the mountain, and was worried about getting a board that was too directional and that switch riding would not be good. Switch on this is a breeze. Super stable board, tracks nicely on flat & firm, and after I got used to a larger size - 162, based off of the size/weight chart on Rome's site - I'm able to maneuver just fine and be as aggressive as I can be with it. I agree with this review, it's a bomber, and you might want to be mindful of really hard and chopped out conditions as you will get bucked a bit (esp with older knees). Just a bit though. Decent in deeper powder too, but a really nice all-around deck. Did fantastic in spring slush on the last day at Mary Jane. I thought about the new Stale Fish, but I think I'm sticking with this for a while. Comparing this to the new, more nimble and more "twin-ish" Stale Crewzer, it's a Cadillac in terms of turning/carving - which I love. I take the Crewzer out on those sunny groomer days I want to just ollie around and press, but on most all other times I'm on the Ravine Select. Thank you for your great reviews, by the way!!

I was leaning towards a 148 or 151 but when I look at the size chart it says my boots won’t fit on it (max 41 EU) and that I should get a 154 which will throw me off the minimum weight recommendation again. I want to use this board for buttering and improving in the park so I don’t want to have to fear that it won’t flex enough.

    @@evanjohnson1740 I would just say that because of the camber the Pantera rides a lot longer than the flagship which had a ton of rocker, especially in the nose. So just be prepared for that. Look at the running length and not just the overall length. Alchemist is pretty different honestly. Not as much camber but still very stiff. Less damp than the Pantera. The alchemist has a more modern direction feel while the Pantera reminded me of classic all mountain boards.

    I already have a 157 Jones Storm Chaser (2025 model with a a bit of backseat camber). I'm worried about the 157 Storm Chaser in Japan's low angle stuff. I've been looking to add something that has great float, nimble in trees, but better for low angle POW. I picked up with 164 dart thinking it could be the option for me, but i'm worried about the slow base and nimbleness in trees. SO - is that worry justified? What do you think about the Jones Flagship 165W or the Cardiff Powgoda to fill this gap? Something else? This board could also be my freeride, steeper/deeper board. I'm 6'1 @ 235 lbs, size 13 boots.

  • @Drift-Products
    @Drift-Products2 ай бұрын

    it's true the 157 Storm Chaser might be a little small in deep low angle. The Dart will work; I wouldn't say the base is slow at all and it gets the job done in the trees--it's not crazy nimble but it'll work. The Flagship is awesome but will be worse than any of these other options in the trees. The Powgoda would be great. I can recommend that easily. It's a bit softer and less aggressive than the Dart which I think makes it a little more nimble in tight places for a given size.

I’ve had the Ride C-9 and Jones Mercury on it, but have now settled on the Rome Cleaver (Stale edition)… which, shouldn’t be surprising, are the perfect match.
