In 1993 Mr. Borge was scheduled to perform with the orchestra I was a member of. The orchestra was struggling financially and unfortunately went out of business after our last performance…with Mr. Borge. He knew it was our last concert and this great man waived his fee so that the orchestra could use that money to pay the musicians’ health insurance for one more month. At least we went out laughing.

He barely escaped being held by the nazi occupation. He made it out of Finland on the last neutral American transport ships. God was looking out for him. ❤

When I was growing up, whenever he was on, regardless of the show, it was family viewing, Grandparents, Mom and Dad, and the kids. We loved him!

Its awesome to me, a younger adult, to discover these gems. I might not be able to visit his performances anymore, but I will 100% enjoy these video's in his legacy ❤ Guess today's entertainment just doesn't fit me.

It looks so easy. Everyone talk about his humor, that obviously is what make him extraordinary more that just another pianist. However, the skills and fast thinking to switch gears, and the practice it takes to make it look easy si we can focus on the funny part and not in the skill required. Genius! 👏💝

Although my understanding of music could fit in a thimble, alongside a rhino, I know genius when I hear it. Victor Borge. Genius. I pray he's giving God laughs. Watching us will only make Him cry.

This man is evidence of two truisms: 1) It takes a very smart man to pretend to be very dumb. 2) Sometimes making fun of something requires you loving it first.
