Mao’s #2, Chou En Lai, cited Britain selling opium in China’s cities and fighting the Opium War to punish China for protesting. They took Hong Kong as reparations Chou En Lai said China was selling heroin to US troops as revenge

The military taught me to speak Chinese in preparation for fighting China in Vietnam The “jing” in BeiJing” sounds like “jingle” and not like “shingle”. I think CNN Bernard Shaw started this mispronunciation because it sounded cool to say “Beijing” with a French accent

At the high of the war, china sent in 450,000 experienced troops for air defense and fixed roads and supply. Even soviet got all the crediteds but it was china's sacrificed that created the new veitnam. china created the vietming defeated the french. After 1970, china discovered the b52 was basically destoryed north vietnam, china was got involved contact with america by through pakistan China wanted the war to stop, because north vietnam was basically got burnt , north vietnam had no chance left. but america didn't know that, beccuase of the pressure at home and on the front. china agreeded with America, vietnam should be north and south like korea.... and if the war stoppped..... chinese guaranteed was ruined by soviet unions... the vietnamese attacked the south after the america withdraw.. this upset china, as vietnam didn't listen to china. the vietnamese accussaded the chinese prolong the war.. after 1975 china was humilated by vietnam and soviet union.. Soviet unions wanted to create the greater vietnam which was basically took over cambodia, lao, thailand and other asean countries. Dengxiao ping a chinese leader decided to teach vietnam a lesson. At that time vietnam got a lot of America weapons and soviet-china weapons with 7millions vietnamese troops. . which was the biggest in the world. china sent in 250000 troops in boarder between vietnam and china in 1979 because vietnam invasion of cambodia and sent 2million to soviet union- china boarder line. china lunched an attack soften the vietnamese troops n and lnvaded about 20klms, then supplied was slowly and they sent in old weapons and some did not even worked.. china had a set back for a few months and lost a lot of troops.. but when new weappns arrived, the chinese broke throught the veitnamese defense, the gate to hainoi was open to be captured.. the vietnamese government moved to Hue as new capital.. but becasue Soviet promised vietnam if china attacked , ,they would invaded china but they didn't.. so china entered 60klms into vietnam and stayed for 1 years. then left... and veitnam didn't leave cambodia, until 1990s. as resulted, vietnam was struggled for 11 years of lack of foods etc. while china gained western supported and opened up for moderisation..

Failed to mention the embargo that was put on Sarajevo by UN and Clinton . To leave the Bosnians in a worse situation. Thank God the Bosnians made tunnels to get weapons and much needled supplies. 4 fucking years under siege longest siege in modern day history.

Of course some of them are really fleeing. But a refugee stops at the first safe position. And there's massive amounts of welfare in the US. How about that is removed, it would greatly change who tries to come.

I served in the 4th Battalion 31 infantry regiment. The 31st fought in Siberia. Our mascot was a polar bear named George. It's funny how we were taught a different history prepping for promotion boards. Lol never did a lot of research into the conflict. Will now. Thanks for the video. I will try to pick up some of these books.

This is bullcrap. Chinese troops only manned anti-aircraft batteries near the Sino-Vietnamese order to protect Chinese built railroads. They also manned a few other batteries around Hanoi to gain experiences. The rest served in logistic. There's no Chinese troops on the frontline because they're not allowed.

And not withstanding perhaps this example, all those "peacekeeping" operations are completely useless. They were deployed to south Lebanon - their job was to ensure that Hamas would not return to the south Lebanon, so how did that work out? And there are many more example.

Very doubtful. The Chinese scholar has his own motivation to "share the victory glory" with Vietnam, but no official record is available at Chinese Government about those "Chinese soldiers protecting Hanoi". Your "Revelation source" from a Washington post article is not reliable either, as such statement from US side that time were plenty as propaganda against North Vietnam. The truth would be: There were some Chinese allowed into Vietnam, but strictly limited to protect and repair the railway from Ha Khau-Lao Cai border gate, along the Hong River to Hanoi, to protect Chinese assets along this railway, and to free up Vietnamese who would have to be there, for fighting somewhere else. Over 10 years, the number would count to 300,000, just like the total Americans serving in Vietnam amounted to 2,700,000 during the war. One fact remains: Had Ho Chi Minh asked Mao to bring Chinese troops to Vietnam, he would have been lynched by his comrades and people for going against his lifelong statement of national independence, fighting foreign invasion, or not learning from the terrible experience of Chinese short occupation of the North in 1945-1946.

MACV-SOG reconnaissance troops regularly sighted Chinese PLA troops along the trail, they were huge and wore PLA field uniforms. If they made contact they shot the Chinese first as they regarded them as more competent and aggressive than the NVA.

2cent idea: Macron (as the only WMD-backed leader in Europe) is practicing the Overton window (window of discourse (on public and allies)) Putin seems to be very strangly promising all-in game, so it must be either the UK and/or France to move on the escalation ladder ...

Chris, Question for you to address, maybe. What does the Corps think will happen when 75 marines land on a hostile shore and find it defended by,,, oh say a thousand enemy troops. Secondly how is the navy going to support those Marines when their "Long Range Fires" run out after 62-192 missiles have been fired?

It's the Pentagon's job to make plans in case of war. For instance the first part of 'Desert Shield', in 1990, was based on NATO plans incase the Soviet Union made an attack through Iraq towards Saudi Arabia.
