Did a few runs out west on a school run before a 17.223 replaced it. Personally this bus was overkill for the rather small route.
I have photographs (2) of a derailment to the south, that occurred when the US armed forces were gathering to head off the Battle of the Coral Sea. US Forces used their cutting equipment to free passengers from the carriages.
My school is Waterloo school it has a fire alarm I don't know what's the sound is
Traffic lights in red and green and yellow
Try and save the fixtures
See; we’ve been considering it, but it’s gonna be really hard seeing as the engineers we need to ask only come around once every blue moon. And I’m aware the clock is ticking: The next time _I’ll_ get to visit the hospital, almost certainly all of the panels would have gone.
I like to think of you as the NZ DieselDucy lol
When is. Part 2 going to be here
I like traffic lights, no matter where they've been. I like traffic lights but only when they're green. He likes traffic lights. That is what he said. He likes traffic lights but not when they're red.
No more Warehouse
To my left going out that used to be Wainui New World
I used to love watching your hand dryer compilations years ago, and I really enjoy watching this video sometimes.
@@DryersaroundtheUK The old ones are back up...you just have to look for them! I also have one other new hand dryer video and more currently in production
@@the_alex_ellis_channel6923 I know they are, I’m just saying they’re also brilliant.
These kind of Bells exist on a lot of railroad crossings here in Sweden, but here we have different sounds on them. We have the Finnish sound, the Swedish/Norwegian sound and the Dutch sound. But cool to see this tho. I’ve seen 2 Vialis EBA bells in real life but never heard one.
R.I.P. NZ Lifts (2017-2023)
Featuring non-compliant fire warning text as well, which I have no idea how that happened given the LOPs are nothing like what Australia gets.
That’s wild that this crossing is an amalgamation of hardware from here in the US, Australia, AND New Zealand! 😂😂😂
Nah I Hated The WCH E-Bells
Even though I live near the airport, I've never been through that tunnel (I am aware of it though). However, I have been through the road tunnel under the southern end of the runway quite a few times. In fact, I drove through it just yesterday. It's on Moa Point Road, and connects Moa Point and the southern end of the airport with Lyall Bay. That one's only been around a few years.
20:45 one had a rubbish sensor 21:01 this one is better
This guy is so full of shit He keeps referring to Wainui intermediate as Wainui college.
i wanna sue the company for changing the bells i wish they kept at least one of them
i am gonna buy some duch e bells and put them on a homemade railroad crossing
It has the same Māori voice like the MonoSpace at the Te Papa museum. I wonder if there's just one Māori language voice that exists currently, and they just put in when they want the lift to be bilingual. It could possibly be a third party board. I just find it strange how a Kone MonoSpace and a Schindler 7000 have the same voice, and I think the Maori language should be used more often in new lifts :)
This particular Te Reo Māori voice is indeed supplied by a third party (namely Cirrus, AKA the largest third-party distributor of NZ who is also responsible for supplying Dewhurst and Everbright buttons over here), and is the most commonly used whenever they want a bilingual voice unit (though instances have popped up of this voice being English-only too). There is supposedly another Te Reo Māori voice, found on some Schindler 5500s at the Ao Tawhiti school in Christchurch, and recorded by a student of that school (Rangimarie) who was advocating for the use of Te Reo Māori in more accessible contexts, like elevator voice units. Her voice files have not yet been sighted in any other elevator in NZ outside of the aforementioned 5500s, which makes me think they’re either associated with Schindler, or just a one-off for that school. I cannot confirm or deny either way. Lastly, *ka pai, e hoa!* As a New Zealander myself who feels incredibly inspired by Māori language & culture, it’s great seeing foreign enthusiasts with a similar desire to honour it and see it being utilised more! 😀
WCH Type 4 E-Bell
That female passenger on the bus is just like Johanna Konta because that passenger has got a rather great pair of legs.
They have ruined them BUT they were NOT working properly. The replacement is appropriate and not a downgrade.
Bye bye, old #BlueLifts & hello to the new #BlueLifts. RIP old #BlueLifts 1976?-2024 for C3 & C4 & 1976?-2019 for C1 & C2
Happy to be featured on this long-anticipated video of an equally long-anticipated upgrade of arguably Wellington’s *most iconic elevators* at the moment (at least within the 🛗 community)! Having ridden these many times myself (especially in their dying days), I can back Alex up at 4:29; the original elevators-as epic as the fixtures are-are absolute horse-anus. They don’t level correctly, and the occasional logic glitch can leave them hanging at or between floors for ages, either not moving or not opening their doors. This replacement is certainly warranted, and the new elevators are definitely much smoother & more efficient than the old ones!
What door equipment have they used?
I think Wittur, but I'd have to double check. I never actually saw them installing the door operators.
Wittur AMD2, can tell from the very unique locking sound.
You certainly really were the pioneer of elevators and buses on KZread to be fair in this country Alex, now plenty other people started filming elevators after then.
I have seen a Dyson airblade tap at a bp
UPDATE: This lift was modernised in 2017-18 by Schindler: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nKiss6aLmtvfeLQ.html
I remember that mall being built. There's a time capsule under the escalator.
I'm a hand dryer enthusiast from the US, and I was quite a fan of your old hand dryer videos when I was little. Your videos are what basically inspired me to go around filming hand dryers in my area as well, so I kinda need to give props to you for that 😅
The Glenfield 5400MRL' 1 in AKL has that 4 stage chime aswell.
New vs Old - which is faster?
It's probably about the same, but the new lift has slower-moving doors, and more dwell time between stopping and opening.
@@the_alex_ellis_channel6923 Always the way!
0:26 Missed oppertunity to use the vine boom sfx instead 😢
I know this is kind of offtopic, but I haven’t seen a recent Crossing video in a while from you, I just realized recently that New Zealand is one of the few places in the world where train crossings don’t have flashing lights on the gates, and even today I’m wondering why that is. Particularly at Nighttime it’s better visibility for motorists to see a dropped gate when it has flashing lights on it
Hey, why do you think New Zealand’s crossings have NO lights on the gates? Almost all of the other crossings in the rest of the world have them.
Ive got some of my own bus doot videls on my yt. Can i submit some to you?
Prior to 1980, I'm not sure whether this level crossing had barrier arms (or maybe it had the smaller arms you showed early on in the video). But in 1980, a tragedy occurred when a New Zealand radio personality was killed on the crossing. His car was hit by a train, and I think either the bells weren't working, or maybe he didn't notice them somehow. If I recall rightly, it happened fairly early in the morning, so maybe the bells were even off (if it was before 7:00am). His name was Peter Latham, and he hosted a mid-morning show called "All Things Considered" on the National Programme (later National Radio, now Radio NZ National). The show was subsequently taken over by Sharon Crosbie after Latham retired from radio to become an Anglican minister. There's not much about this tragic accident online, but I remember seeing news footage of it at the time. His car was totalled and I think they had to cut his body out of it. But the crossing was upgraded after that. Either barrier arms were added to it, or those big tall ones replaced the smaller ones.
I lived in Linden (bottom of Woodman Drive) for the first ten years of my life, so know that level crossing quite well, although it's a bit different from how it was in the 1970s, with those new barrier arms and lights, not to mention the two-train warning system (is that still there today? - I see this video is from five years ago). Still, seeing this video feels like catching up with an old friend. My mother and I sometimes used to take the train from Linden into town (we also occasionally went on the Johnsonville line). In my late teens/early 20s, my paternal grandmother (who lived in Tawa) and I did a few train trips from Tawa to Paraparaumu and back (we were both rather fond of trains, and she used to give me the NZ Railway and Locomotive Society Calendar every Christmas; I continued to buy it in her honour until they sadly stopped producing it in about 2020).
Nice platform lift. Looks quite nice.
So weird it went from a nice Otis to a generic Schindler 7000
The old lifts at this hospital are knackered, and should've been upgraded a long time ago. Lots of ongoing issues with reliability, parts and finding technicians with the know-how to fix 60s and 70s relay controllers. They may not have same character, but as someone who works in this hospital and relies on the lifts to be able to do my job, any kind of upgrade here is very welcome indeed.
No longer a chance of Mr Coop mistaking the alarm for Door Close 😂 Can’t wait to come here and get all of the Te Reo Māori announcements, as well as speedtest this - 'cos this looks *really quick!*
Lol
Nothing to write home about, but it looks quite decent. I wouldn’t let those chairs anywhere near that lift on level 1, though - next to no room for error should they get shifted even a little bit!
I honestly believe that DMG is so underused in NZ since they have a good range like Dewhurst
I definitely preferred these engine sounds and the acceleration/speed of these buses, all the others that got repowered sounded worse and seemed a lot slower
I prefer the repowered ones myself, but each to their own.
I'm with you all the way bro euro 2 the greatest of all time 🔥🔥 I never liked the repowered euro 3s in the 11.190s just kinda killed the originality of it them just the way it sounds 🤤🤤🤤
Was wondering where in America you were that still used those sounds until I realized that this was from Australia.
And you are still wrong.....this is in New Zealand
@@the_alex_ellis_channel6923it’s close though.
WHAT, you mean the cyclist actually waits for the traffic lights
Trash Jackson lift
Why?
