  We go to Chicago every July for a week (Monday to Monday or Friday to Friday) and we love it. I want to move near there so I can go to a lot of the events that happen. We have gone in May, July and October. Our normal time to go is in July. I can tell you that a week is never long enough. SOOOOO Much fun.

  When people say “be aware of your surroundings and you’ll be fine” that is good advice, but sometimes you really can’t do anything to prevent such random events. Unless you choose to always cross the street whenever you see a single person (which is impossible and leads to crazy paranoia)

  I’ve been following these videos for a year or so and they have gotten less helpful over time. I understand rent is increasing, but I’m sure there are still some cheaper apartments in desirable neighborhoods in Chicago. I can’t afford any apartments you’ve shown in these vids for a long time. Why are there no cheaper apartments featured in these videos?

  omg I have relatives that live off Lake Chautauqua and was just there visiting for the Fourth! It's quite a spectacle at night with multiple communities launching fireworks off the lake simultaneously and the whole perimeter is illuminated by red flares off everyone's docks. I got to check out the I Love Lucy museum while there.

  Half of my family lives in Mayville, NY and we would always watch the fireworks over the lake. Such fun memories! Super under-rated area. We have some land in Maple Springs and dream of building a little cabin on it so we can go back more often :)

  All of these were so expensive for what you get! I didnt think any of them looked good enough for the price. As a South Looper myself that lives by the first building it is a scam. That building (Aspire) might be new but it already has a reputation in the neighborhood of being quite ghetto.

  not everyone needs to buy, a lot of people move here temporarily or just for a couple years. If they don't plan on being in Chicago more permanently there is absolutely no reason to buy. plus property taxes are so high here it's not a decision to make lightly. 🙄

  @@naomi-ft9rq not sure how you know exactly where in the SLoop it is, but in general I prefer the northern neighborhoods like old town/lincoln park. I think there's more character and neighborhoody feel. however with that said, you definitely get more bang for your buck in the SLoop

  @@nimah8051 I do know where it is and realize people prefer the north side. For that reason, I think if the problem is that a unit is south of downtown that one should just say so instead of suggesting that it's too far from downtown which is why I originally commented.

  Mineral sun lotion is zinc oxide and it works really well for chafing.
