Weekend Non-warriors

Weekend Non-warriors

We've entered the world of RV owners and want to bring you along. Our goal is to travel to all of the South Carolina State Parks. They're each so unique! We aim to show off the special features and especially what makes them great. While traveling, we will explore the areas around the parks and will be featuring nearby restaurants, shops, and entertainment ideas.

We are both business owners and have two young children, so we live busy lives. But, we're out to prove that even in a modern, busy family, you can get out and explore - even if it's one weekend at a time!

For the parks that have camping, we will rely on our Travel Trailer, appropriately named "Katie the Travel Trailer", as a turtle takes its home with it, and so do we. We hope that you'll join us on our adventures and please subscribe.

    Thanks for the great video! I've been looking for a good campground near Greenville. I think this will be a great place for my son to mountain bike, and I'm really looking forward to visiting Myle's Pizza!

    We were in OBX last year in July. We stayed at the KOA over in Currituck. It was about a 20 minute drive over to the OBX, but it was less crowded just lovely. We really like the area, lost to do and see.

    We tried that. We tried every way possible. The customer service folks admitted that it was likely a bad thermo couple and were willing to replace our unit. But, we still returned it for all of the reasons mentioned in the video - it’s way too heavy, can’t be used inside, but must be covered when not in use outside, nothing is dishwasher safe, and (not mentioned in the video, but realized when looking at regular air fryers) the basket is pretty small. It just isn’t practical for our travel needs.

    Great video. I really appreciate y’all taking time to do these videos about our state. It helps me plan trips for hubby & I. I found a new campground on Lake Montecello in Blair, SC. Lakeside Family Campground. Check it out. I’m not affiliated with them in any way. Just curious as to your thoughts. Saw it when Dr I get by on our way to Sesquicentennial last month, signed up for their emails, and learned they are new. Young couple. I think I might plan a trip there next summer.

    That's a bummer :( Are you planning on replacing this? I for one would also like options for a propane air fryer. I have the 36 inch beast with 2 fryer baskets and LOVE it! Looking at propane air fryer for my hot dog cart to do corn dogs.

  • @WeekendNonwarriors
    @WeekendNonwarriorsАй бұрын

    As I said in the video, we’ve returned it and will replace it with a traditional air fryer, but plugged into the 120 volt, 20 amp plug at campgrounds. Not sure which one yet. This was way to heavy, bulky, and came with too many restrictions to its operations for the way the we camp. My wife made a good point today - this may be great for an outdoor kitchen setup at a seasonal site that has a roof structure. It just doesn’t work for us. I hope yours is awesome for you!

    Not to sound cheesy but it looks as tho yall made lemonade outta lemons!! So sorry to hear of the issues.....we rolled up to Baker Creek. I hooked everything up as usual, cut on the power and water and walked outside. I walked back in to get something and saw all this smoke and it smelled electrical! I ran outside and cut power and sure enough the inside electrical box had basically shorted out and burned up!!! I was ready to pack up and leave but my wife was like, "No"...."we came to camp so lets camp"!! We had a great time!! I hope everyone gets to feeling better and everything gets fixed. Yall be good and stay safe!!

    There is an admission fee for day use of the park. Camping requires reservations and a fee. If you are a SC resident, you can go to your county public library and check out a state park pass, allowing you day use entry without paying the admission fee.

    You guys do one of the best jobs of campground reviews (especially the individual site info) and hidden gems around the places you visit. I’ve visited several places based on your reviews that I did not know existed - Bee City for one. Roads getting to Vogel was especially helpful since I’m pulling a 30’ 5800lb bumper pull with a Ford 150 6 cylinder. I’ve stayed out of the mountain areas for that reason. Your thoughts on getting up there is extremely helpful. Enjoy your reviews!

    We went to Tallulah Gorge State Park back in November of 2022 and absolutely loved it. Those stairs are no joke but definitely worth going down and back up. Also, I agree. That Interpretive Center was definitely top notch to say the least. We were in site 41. Long and narrow. We rode around that loop 3 times before we got into our site. 😅
