The fleishacker salt water pool was 2 blocks from my house..its in the 'sunset ' district off of sloat blvd. At that time in 1975 the pool was intact. But in disrepair . The deep end of the pool was 45 ft deep. (Not 14 ft) There were 2 diving boards . The tall one was about 35 ft high. Which in fact proves just how deep it was. Nobody is gonna do a high dive in a 14 ft deep pool

I often wonder what Herb Caen would say about a lot of things in San Francisco if he were around today. Candlestick Park and the Niners is one of them. Without rehashing the the entire conversation, I believe at one point The City had set aside $100 million for infrastructure improvements for the new stadium that was to be built next to the old one which would then be turned into a parking lot for the new stadium. All this provided that private financing for the project would cover the stadium. It was to include the stadium, a mall, and (natch!) public affordable housing. We all know where that went. Another idea was to build the new stadium on the western side of 101 below Tunnel Ave. The problem was that they would need a few acres that are, technically, in Brisbane (and therefore San Mateo County). And the owners would not sell (although they like the idea of a joint ownership structure and revenue sharing. Like that was going to happen. No. Wait! It wouldn't...). The dreams were big: More housing, more tax revenue, revitalizing Hunters Point. But this has not come to fruition and, ten years later, where there once was "The 'stick" is...nothing. You know who's making money in San Francisco? The SF Giants. And the Warriors (actually, that's a highly profitable entertainment company that happens to also own an NBA team). I forgot who was Mayor of SF back then and would have to look it up. But it was not Willie Brown. You can have a differing opinion about him from mine but if he had been Mayor then, the Niners would be playing in the new Candlestick Park...in San Francisco. You can ask Herb Caen. ;)

City and county funds is used for his planning events then he points the finger to the Mayor Breeds office. Hey that’s city funding. He can’t flat out say yes I do city funds my events. Nancy made comment recently about people throwing their money away on fundraisers for Trump. People have the right to support anyone they want to support. Nancy also said that Joe Biden is the one that can solve our problems. There are several issues with this statement; Not the least of which ore the fact the Joe Biden has no signature accomplishment in his entire 50 year career. He claims to represent all Americans, which is not true. He certainly doesn't speak for me, and millions of others have no confidence in his ability to solve problems. Two huge problems are the border (secure it now, and encourage people to come in legally), and take steps to open up drilling within our borders again. Green energy is a nice idea, but it is decades away from a viable solution

Just keep the Upper Great Highway open to cars on the weekdays. Saying it's "Open for all" or they're "sharing" it with everyone if it becomes a "park", is NOT open for all!
When Great Hwy is closed on weekdays, that doesn't eliminate the need for cars and trucks to get through San Francisco, it just forces them onto the outer avenues, creating more congestion. Why close it on weekdays? So retired people and work from home transplants don't have to wait until the weekend to walk or ride (in the wrong direction), while those of us that are working suffer in the congestion? Unbelievably stupid and disrespectful.
