  maybe it's just me, but when Sting sings the second 'Oh' in the intro, he's singing a G# note on it. When I listen to original song, I hear a half-note drop on the B string from b10 to b9 by lifting the middle finger to match the G# Sting is singing and then it goes back to the b10 with middle finger on the other "ohs". When I play that opening riff, that's how I play it by lifting my middle finger so I'm playing the b9 on the second "Oh". Am I wrong?

  i've been playing fingerstyle for 2 years, and i was about to stop doing it to play with pick because i thought it was impossible to play this type of pieces with my fingers. you motivated me to continue playing fingerstyle and i will always thank you for that!

  I appreciate your technical talents. However, something is missing. I have a feeling that Jimmy Page was not always in lock step with the beat (or would it be ‘click track’)? All along the way I feel an ebb and flow that makes me think you should try to use your emotions to let you be slightly behind or ahead of the beat, as needed. The beat seems too fast for me, also. My feeling is that the blues should not be a slave to time or beat. Use those bird’s eyes, or add them! Play with it all.
