  A lovely interview, thank you. "The more you paint, the more you understand" is so true. I recently had a similar experience as Alan explained of looking at a Hans Heysen painting. Back in 2005 I visited the Rijksmuseum for the first time. I remember well how 'magical' the whole experience was of seeing such great paintings. In 2022, I visited again, and the experience felt quite different. Even though I still much enjoyed it and have a great admiration for the artworks, I was able to analyse the techniques far more and better understand why the compositions work so well. Keep up the great work!
