What price range do you think is fair for a used T20 with the standard lens (18-55)? :)
Great photos man🙏.
Thanks! Also, thanks for taking the time to let me know.
may i ask what recipe you use and how to get less shaky video with xt20
Portra 160 from FujiXWeekly and Final Cut Pro image stabilization.
Thanks for introducing me to Sam Abell - great photos indeed.
Thanks!
would have been nice to see them tested in a portrait setting. They are not exactly a walk-around-forest type lenses.
Everyone has their own uses. Walk-around forest type is mine.
Thank you for making us proud owner of xt20 !
Always!
I think the Panasonic Lumix LX100 mark II meets all your must-haves.
That’s definitely on my list to try out.
after I got an XPro-3, I slapped a free-focus 18mm on my X-T20 and made it a little edc pocketable point-and-shoot
That sounds like a fun edc.
Nice test❤thanks you
Thanks!!
I actually enjoyed those photos. I think that is a pretty good camera.
Thanks! And yes, it is a pretty good camera.
$205 for the Artisan or😊 $740 for the Fuji in Canada.
Your thoughts on xpro 1 ???
I’ve not used one, but I have used the X-E1 that has the same sensor and loved it.
Thanks for the video, i thought at the start that the Pentax lens (which one?) gave a better look to the images IMO.
Thanks for writing. Yeah, the Pentax Super Multi Coated Takumar 55mm 1.8f is a great little lens.
Totally agree XPro 2 for life pure perfection in one’s hands.👍🏻👍🏻
Does it smear in the corner or just vignettes? (With stills)
I’ve looked at several frames and I say there is a slight “smear” on a few of them. Not thing too bad, I honestly would have never noticed had you not mentioned it, but it’s something.
I like the retro/modern look of the TT Artisan better (never had the fuji for real), but that vigneting get really annoying some times. Far for my main lens but it's the one on my camera, cuz it's still a very good wolk around, every day lens on a small body.
For sure
where i can get your fuji recipe?
nevermind i get the answer from the other comment
Great vid. Good to know your results! As a Mitakon 85mm and 63mm owner these have pretty similar results. I haven't had much success adapting 35mm lenses myself with the ones over tried. But was also very please with the Minolta 58mm f1.2 myself. The lens is surprisingly warmer off the bat, and has had the least amount of vignetting to me. The Mitakon lenses also have a warmer tone as compared to modern Fuji lenses, but the Minolta is twice as warm.
I’ve heard good things about the Minolta on GFX. I had that lens and adapted it to Canon years ago. I loved it, but man was it soft. Might have just been my copy.
is it also good for capturing sports? like volleyball?
I’d say maybe the X-T30 or T30II for sports.
What wrist strap is that? Will be looking good on my G1X too
I was thinking the same! Don’t have a g1x but love the strap though 😂
Think I really need that Mitakon! Do you always shoot it wide open? And if you do stop down, do you focus wide open?
For creative work I’ll shoot wide open 99% of the time. The clickless aperture on the Mitakon makes it easy to adjust the setting on accident when changing lenses frequently, that and wanting to replicate the look of a 6x7 was why I shot everything wide open for this test. The Mitakon does some great things at 1.8-2.8f as well. Since I made this video, I opted to sell the Fuji 63mm and went with the 50mm 3.5f.
@@WoodenAxle Lens arrived today, very happy with first test results!
Did you edit these photos?
No, however it’s important to note that this was early October in Florida… so the light was near perfect most of the day.
@@WoodenAxle Thanks
Hi thank very much for the sweet video and showing us a personal view of a part of US- small town ,, Great Ending.. I am really thinking to buy a Gfx 100s for take pictures and for filming too ,, I use lumix Gh4, Gh5 for many years ,, but I really don’t find a ceriuslyly opinion about filming an editing gfx film material .. could you help me a little bit with your honest opinion
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve not used the GH4 or GH5, or the 100S, but based on what I’ve read about all of them the 100S should be a good option. Definitely better photos, and I bet the video would be comparable. I’d see if you can afford the 100S I’d get it.
How would you compare it to the Fujifilm x100vi?
You know, as much as people like to compare them, I don’t think they are in the same category. If I had the money I’d own both of them. It all depends on what you’re going to use it for. If you want something that’s clinically excellent with excellent video capabilities, then it’s Fuji. If you want something that travels with you everywhere, makes images with incredible character, Ricoh all the way.
Great video and I miss my GR3 a lot.
It’s a wonderful image maker. You gonna get another?
Brilliant video!
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and let me know.
Fuji looks like film. It's no competition unless you're going for a different look
Fuji looks great, that’s for sure. I would have agreed with your second comment had I not been shooting a Ricoh GRIIIx lately. It’s pretty darn close. Working in a video for it now.
That shot of your neighbor standing in front of his Caddy is incredible- do you remember which lens was used for that one?
Thank you! 55mm 1.8f Pentax Super Multi Coated Takumar.
I prefer the contrast and colours of the TT. But I needed a WR lens for my trail running kit.
This is a great camera even in 2024. Happy to hear that it is beloved by you too
Yes indeed!
Oxford was a jumpscare for me! Been watching videos about the GFX system and came across this one. I lived in Oxford for seven years and started my photography business there. Great shots, love to see a beautiful town like this in a youtube video
That’s awesome!! O-town is a lovely place.
Sony HX9V. Check it out. I had one it was amazing. The HXV line up continued to the 30-400 V's I believe. They got better along the way. But got bigger. I wanted to keep thing small and compact.
Sure thing!
great comparison, were these jpeg sooc? which film sim?
Yes, SOOC, and I used FujiXWeekly Porta400
Would you say that this is better than the X-A5?
Yes. Definitely
Sure helps that you’re an ace photographer! ❤
Mighty kind of you to say that! Thank you!
Thank you the video. Just watched your other video on yhe xe2, love how you let the end products speak for themselves.
Thanks!
Wow, all video shots are hand held!?
Yes they are!
Please Drop the song in this video it’s epic!
Thanks! Ok, I’ll dig it up and put it out. It’s been a minute since I’ve listened to it myself!
fuji way better than the MIT but if you stop down a little it gets a little better. i would like to see both at 2.8 although i already know the results. fujifilm btw we have the 50s and the MIT and its like photography with an anvil... 5lbs+ with the grip
Anvil! Great analogy.
2.8 is more like 4 on an APSC isn’t it?
I really don’t know, but it certainly functions like a 2.8
@@WoodenAxle yeah man. You lose DOF like you gain reach. Smaller sensor means less DOF compared to FF. So 50mm 2.8 is like 75mm F4. However if you’re still getting pleasing/good enough shallow DOF then just love the lighter smaller body and lenses. 👍🏻
Added you on insta too. Great stuff bro.
Does xt20 better for photos and vids?
Definitely better photo. If you want video look at the 30 or 30 Mark II
This was my 2nd camera after the a520 powershot. I got it for £13.
I found that this lens on the gfx system work s so much better in 35 mm mode. You eliminate the vignetting and the images are much sharper in my honest opinion and for my experiences. If you have Mitakon 65 and you look at the mount compared to this you can see that the 85 was just fitted with the mount but was built for 35 mm in my opinion.
I’ll give it a try!
g1x or g1x markii im thinking of buying one but not sure g1x is cheaper than mark ii but is it worth to extra money
thanks for the video. Maybe you show your face in the next one? 😉
Maybe one day. I do have a video posted of an artist talk I gave.
Xt30ii with a sigma 15-50mm is all you ever need.
Great lens!
you made me appreciate my xt20 more ❤
Happy to hear that!
