Great advice!!! Thank for blessing others with this information to guide them in the correct direction in times of hardship. If a credit card is being paid every month but currently being used every month. Is it wise or not wise to get a balance transfer card to transfer that debt over to that card?

You need to look at what your objective is in transferring a credit card balance. If you are looking at obtaining a lower interest rate on the new card and possibly paying the balance off within a zero interest promotion it may be a smart move. However, if the credit card that currently holds the balance has a great credit history then you may want to keep it. If you are looking at consolidating debt and paying everything off is one thing, improving your credit score to enhance additional purchasing power is another. If I transferred the balance to another card, I would keep the current account open and use it periodically and pay off the purchase within 30 days so you would not incur any interest, but maintained the account in good standing. Use caution, you don't want an excessive amount of credit card accounts open on your credit bureau. Make sure you obtain your "FREE ANNUAL" credit bureau every year. This will help you keep track of what each credit bureau is reporting, helps you keep your eyes on identity theft issues and determines if there is anything reporting in error. You are entitled to one from each credit bureau annually. The 3 main credit bureaus are Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. I hope this helps!
